Sophia sighs and knocks on her mother's bedroom door
"Come in" Sophia's mother said as Sophia walks into her mother's bedroom
"Hey,mom"
"Hey hun,how you doing?" Sophia's mother asked
"I'm doing good!" Sophia replied. "I just got done cooking brunch for Jennifer and everyone else"
"How is Jennifer? Is everything fine with her and Malik?" Sophia's mother asked
"Yea,everything went perfectly fine. Turns out that he didn't do anything with that thot after all" Sophia replied
"That's great! Now I can start liking him"
"So,are you nervous?" Sophia asked
"Nervous about what,hun?" Sophia's mother asked putting lipstick on.
"Getting married to daddy again" Sophia replied
"No,why would I?" Sophia's mother asked
"Because he left us hanging when I was almost sixteen years old and he barely contacted us while living in a different state. And now he wanna pop up out of nowhere and come back to you like it's nothing" Sophia replied
Tina sighs and crossed her arms as she faces her daughter
"What?" Sophia asked
"Why did you do that?" Sophia's mother asked
"Do what?" Sophia asked
"You know what,Sophia! Don't act all stupid" Sophia's mother replied
"I'm just saying! Like how could you run back into his arms like that after ALL those years of you being depressed,crying,and hurting. As soon as you opened that door when he came over. You just ran into his arms like he saved your life from drowning" Sophia said as her mother shook her head
"I knew it"
"Knew what?" Sophia asked
"That you was faking all this happiness ever since he came back into our lives" Sophia's mother replied
"What? You expected me to look at him some type of way,treat him differently,and ruin your happiness?" Sophia asked. "I rather be the fakest person alive instead of ruining your happiness with daddy"
"You don't have to be fake,just tell him how you feel and he'll understand where you're coming from"
"I really doubt that,mom"
"And why is that?" Sophia's mother asked
"Dad left you for some other chick but that relationship didn't last long" Sophia replied. "So,instead of coming back to you,he went to go hook up with some other chick. A few years later you went to a different state while daddy stayed and fell in love with another chick and her family that he tried to make me get along with when I was seventeen. And while you was all alone sinking and drowning into depression" She said as her mother gets quiet
"Am I wrong?" Sophia asked as her mother tries her best not to cry
"That is why I doubt that daddy would understand where I'm coming from if I tell him how I feel about him and you know that,mom"
Tina sighs and lowered her head down in defeat as she starts to cry
"You're right" Sophia's mother said sniffling. "You are absolutely right,Sophia,I do know. But you know my feelings towards your father is completely different. I love him and he loves me too,Sophia"
"How would you know that for sure?" Sophia asked. "He could be doing this just to have somewhere to stay"
"How do you know that he had nowhere to go?" Sophia's mother asked
"He told me on the second day when he came back to us" Sophia replied. "I actually felt bad but I was disappointed in him and still is"
"And I completely understand but the most high brought your father back to us for a reason. Your father and I are still married. This is us doing another wedding,so we could start us all over again. Things happens for a reason,Sophia"
"Well,I hope that after this wedding he doesn't think that we're cool again" Sophia said as her mother sighs
"God,please don't do this now,Sophia"
"I'm not going to say or do anything. I'm just going to give him the silent treatment"
"Sophia,that is your father!"
"If he really is my father then he should know how to act like one" Sophia said as her mother slaps her
"How dare you?!" Sophia's mother asked. "You need to watch your mouth about your father! As long as we live you give that man some respect!"
Sophia rolled her eyes and shook her head as tears rolls down her cheeks. Sophia's mother sighs and hugs Sophia tightly
"I'm sorry,I didn't mean to do that.It came out of a reaction"
"That's not why I'm crying,mom" Sophia said as her mother stops hugging her
"Why are you crying,Sophia?" Sophia's mother asked
"I just have so much hate for him for what he did to you. What he did was so uncalled for" Sophia replied
"I know" Sophia's mother said as she wipes Sophia's tears. "I had hate for him,too.bBut he's a changed man,Sophia,and he proved it to me. That's why we're doing this" she said as Sophia sighs
"Well" Sophia said grabbing her mother's hand. "He's going to have to prove to me of why I should call him daddy again" she said as her mother stares at her and Jennifer knocks on the door walking in the bedroom
"Knock,knock" Jennifer said as Sophia let go of her mother's hand and her mother storms out of the room
"Well,good afternoon to you,too" Jennifer said in a sarcastic tone as she looked at Sophia. "What's up with momma?" She asked as Sophia sighed
"It's a long story,girl" Sophia replied as Jennifer sits on Sophia's mother bed.
"I can tell because the right side of your cheek is red"
"What?!" Sophia asked as she ran into the bathroom,flipped the light switch on and looked into the mirror seeing a bright red mark on her right cheek. Sophia's jaw dropped as she turned the bathroom light off and walked out of the bathroom seeing Jennifer with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face
"She literally left a mark on my face!"
"You really didn't feel any stinging on your face after she slapped you?" Jennifer asked
"No!" Sophia replied. "I was too mad around that moment at my mother's boo"
"Mother's boo? What happened to daddy?" Jennifer asked as Sophia gives her a look
Jennifer gasped. "You finally told her?" She asked
"Yep" Sophia replied
"And how did she responded to that?" Jennifer asked
"Do you not see my face?" Sophia asked pointing at her right cheek
Jennifer laughs. "Dang,mom got feelings for him like that?" Jennifer asked as Sophia nodded
"She slapped me because I said if my father really is a father then he should know how to act like one. Right after she told me that he's my father because I was going to give him the silent treatment"
"Woow! Mom deep in love"
"I know,right"
"He must be a good man or just giving it to her good"
"I don't wanna think about what he do to her in bed. But I haven't seen him in action of being a good man. That's why I've said what I said to my mom"
"Fair enough" Jennifer said as Sophia sighed
"Yea" Sophia said as Jennifer giggled
"What's funny?" Sophia asked
"Your momma slapped your ass hard for that man" Jennifer replied laughing. "I bet it stung worst than a bee sting" Jennifer said as Sophia fake laughs
"You're so funny"
"I bet she slapped half of your soul all the way to New Mexico" Jennifer said laughing harder as Sophia fake laughed again
"Bish,what's going on with you and Malik?" Sophia asked as Jennifer stops laughing
"You petty"
"I try my best" Sophia said smiling as Jennifer rolled her eyes and sighed
"Malik and I are doing just fine. He explained everything to me about what happened the other day"
"That's good that he did or else he would have to deal with me"
"Sure he would" Jennifer said in a sarcastic tone and cleared her throat. "How's everything with you and Jacob?" She asked
"Everything is going fine between me and him" Sophia replied. "Our relationship is getting stronger than ever. He's even teaching me a few new things that I've never heard of before"
"New things like what?" Jennifer asked
"I'll tell you when we go out and buy our dresses for the wedding" Sophia replied as she grabs Jennifer by her wrist and pulls her off the bed as they leave the bedroom to get ready
