"get up!" maddie yelled as her and elaine jumped on lemon's bed, pulling the covers off her and drew. lemon and drew have been spending the night together every night for the past month, whether it was his apartment or hers.
lemon groaned as she sat up "i'm so tired. what do you need" she wiped her eyes
"we are going on a trip!" elaine yelled excitedly. the two energetic girls walked into lemons closet and grabbed her suitcase.
"a trip?" drew asked half-awake
"yes, a couple's trip to the mountains" maddie smiled, sitting back on the bed
"couple? rudy finally asked you out?" lemon quizzed
"not yet but i feel it coming" elaine smiled "but it'll be a nice getaway!"
"you don't have to convince me, i love skiing" lemon hit drew in the bare chest to wake him up more. he groaned and turned away from the girls "drewey, you got to wake up, we're going to the mountains" lemon sang in his ear
"ugh fine!" drew got up and went to the bathroom
"ew lemon stop staring at him like that when we're around" elaine laughed
"help me pack!" maddie called from lemon's closet
chase, rudy, drew, elaine, and maddie were all by the door waiting for lemon.
"lem! we gotta go!" drew yelled
"hold on! i can't find my snow jacket" lemon called back from her room. the group sat in the kitchen, talking when drew got a phone call.
"hello? now? i mean i kinda had plans but i guess i can. yeah, i'll see you then" drew hung up. "that was my mom, she needs me in north carolina" drew explained as lemon walked into the kitchen.
"north carolina?! that's across the country"
"thanks for the geography lesson lem" chase laughed
"when are you going?" lemon asked
"i have to go now, she said she bought me a flight in two hours" he told her
"you're gonna make me fifth wheel?" lemon had a sad tone in her voice
"i'm sorry lem, but my mom needs me" drew said hugging her. she hugged back.
"well we gotta go if we're gonna make it in time" rudy said looking at the time
"bye drewey"
"bye lem, be safe and don't break any bones" he said leaning down to kiss her

lemon wasn't having as much fun as she thought she would. she was expecting to be in a hot tub with drew while looking at the mountains. but instead she was in the hot tub by herself while she watched her friends be lovey-dovey with each other.
the next day when they went to the trails lemon was struggling. "this is way more difficult than i remember"
"well if you had gotten a snowboard like the rest of us, i would be able to help you" rudy responded
"skiing is easier, everyone knows that" lemon rolled her eyes
"then i really don't want to see you on a snowboard" chase laughed. "here, hand me your phone, i have like three pockets" chase offered as lemon handed him her phone. they got off the ski lift and started to go down the the hill. lemon thought she was getting the hang of it until she saw a tree in her way. "guys what do i do!" lemon yelled out
"lemon turn!" maddie yelled
"how?!" lemon yelled back trying to not freak out but failing. she managed to move just barely out of the trees way but instead she hit a person. "oh my gosh! i'm so so sorry" lemon said as she laid face up in the snow. she could hear her friends laughing and making fun of her.
"it's fine" the guy said standing up "i'm lucas" he offered his hand out to help her up
"lemon" she smiled taking his hand
"i can help you ski if you want, like tell you the basics before you hit someone else" he offered
"yeah, that would be nice" lemon smiled taking him up on his offer. chase, rudy, maddie, and elaine all watched their interaction. "he definitely likes her" elaine said
"agreed" maddie stared at the two's interactions
"she'll just tell him she has a boyfriend and he'll move on" chase said glaring at the guy
"so, you decided to ski by yourself or is that group of people glaring at us your friends?" lucas asked
"that would in fact be my friends. it was supposed to be a couple's trip" lemon explained
"supposed?"
"something came up last minute so my boyfriend couldn't come"
"doesn't seem very boyfriend material to me"
"he is" lemon defended "come meet my friends" lemon went over to them with lucas's help
"oh you brought him over" chase said dryly
"be nice" madelyn hit him "hi, i'm madelyn" she shook his hand
"lucas" he responded with a smile "i'm going to help lemon learn to ski" he told them
"good because she was holding us back" rudy joked
"if drew was here, we would be able to leave you two and continue down the hill. drew is her boyfriend by the way" chase made it blatantly obvious
"i've heard" the group spent the next few minutes getting to know each other. "we should probably get going so we don't hold everyone up"
"good idea, meet back at the ski lodge in 2 hours" rudy told lemon as she nodded. they went there separate ways.
"he was an interesting dude" rudy said
"yeah, i'm not really buying the whole 'i backpacked europe at 17 by myself' and 'i've faced 3 grizzly bears face to face' act" chase mocked
"you guys are so mean, i thought he was nice" madelyn defended
"yeah me too" elaine agreed
"serial killer charm" rudy shrugged
"rudy!" elaine hit him
the group of now four sat in the ski lodge waiting for lemon and lucas. one of chase's five phones started ringing. he pulled out the phone and 'drewzey🤍 wants to FaceTime' was across the screen. "lemon's phone" chase told the group as he answered "hey drewzey baby" rudy teased him
"don't start rooroo" drew joked back "where's lem?"
"with lucas" maddie answered
"yeah drew, you got some competition" chase teased
"lucas?" drew furrowed his eyebrows
"it's some guy lemon met, he's teaching her to ski. she's supposed to be back by now" rudy looked at his watch
"you guys left my girlfriend with a random you met on a ski slope?!" drew asked angrily
"when you put it like that it sounds bad" elaine frowned
"yeah, it sounds bad! it is bad!"
"don't worry drew, the girls said he seemed very nice" chase said sarcastically
"serial killer charm" drew replied
"that's what i said!" rudy pointed out just as lemon and lucas walked into the ski lodge laughing "she's back!"
"hey guys, who are you FaceTiming?"
"look" chase said as he turned the phone to lemon
"drew!" lemon smiled "how's north carolina?"
"good. how's lucas?" drew replied snarkily
"um, good?" lemon was confused "this is lucas, lucas this is drew" lemon introduced them.
"nice to meet you drew, but i've got to go guys, nice meeting you guys!" he smiled to the group
"nice meeting you too" elaine waved
"bye lucas" maddie smiled as he walked away
"my god maddie, why don't you just confess your love for him?" chase said out of jealousy
"pipe down, debby ryan. just being friendly"
"drew, you should've seen me, i'm basically a pro at skiing now" lemon bragged
"i wish i could be there!"
"yeah me too!"
"well i gotta go lem, my mom is calling me. bye!"
"bye drew!" she smiled as he hung up
