3rd Person POV

Luke sighed as he looked back at the young teen in the chair. She was asleep, her face caked with ash. A small smile pulled at his lips as he ran a finger across her cheek, wiping a bit of the ash off. Luke landed his X-Wing in a small landing pad. Luke watched his sister and brother-in-law run out of their small house on Yavin IV. Leia had tear stained cheeks and Han looked terrified. Luke climbed out of his ship, slowly picking up (Y/n).
"I need you to take care of (Y/n)."
Luke quickly said, pushing the girl towards the couple. Han took her from Luke, holding her in his arms.
"Where are you going?"
Han asked as Leia started to wipe the ash off of (Y/n)'s face.
"I just need to get away.."
Luke said and started to climb back into the ship. (Y/n) slowly woke up and started to look around.
"Dad..?"
She said softly as she started to wake up. Han quickly put her on her feet as Luke's ship disappeared in the atmosphere.
"Wait! Dad no!"
(Y/n) screamed out, running away from Han and Leia. Leia ran after her and grabbed her shoulder. Tears streamed down (Y/n)'s cheeks and Leia pulled her into a hug. On instinct (Y/n) pushed her face into her Aunt's shoulder, crying harder.
"He'll be back soon, it's okay."
Leia tried to consult her. (Y/n) quickly looked toward the starry sky and nodded slightly. She slowly looked back to Leia and whimpered softly.
"Ben he-"
"We know, now let's get you cleaned up sweetie."
Leia cut (Y/n) off and guiding her back towards their house.

It had been a few long years since the attack on the academy. Luke still hadn't come back and mostly everyone had given up hope on finding where he had went. (Y/n) stared at the R2 unit that was powered off. She sighed, seeing how lifeless he was. After her father had disappeared R2D2 also turned himself off. (Y/n) didn't really understand why Luke left or why he left her with his sister. She didn't know if he would be proud of what she had done for the resistance. The biggest thing that hurt her was that she didn't have her father there on her wedding day. Han had agreed to take his place but there was still something missing. (Y/n) was taken in by Luke when she was about 3, about enough to remember a little bit of her parents but not enough to actually prove the memories were real.
"Hey,"
A hand was placed on (Y/n)'s shoulder making her jump out of her thoughts. She looked up to see her husband, Poe Dameron, smiling down at her.
"You alright?"
He asked her and she stood up.
"Yeah, I just miss him."
(Y/n) breathed out, leaning into Poe. They had been bestfriends since Leia and Han took (Y/n) under their care and things just happened you know? Poe sighed and kissed the top of her head.
"We'll find him, I promise."
Poe assured her, wrapping his arms around her waist. She smiled and looked up at him. He looked down at her and smiled back. He had come back from his mission on Jakku that went wrong and he was captured by the First Order. Poe told (Y/n) about how a stormtrooper helped him escaped and that he told him about BB-8 still being on the planet. They had been planning on trying to go back to Jakku to find the droid since he had the piece of the map to Luke. (Y/n) out of everyone was more exicted to find the map. Another member of the Resistance ran up to the two, smiling brightly.
"We just got word that BB-8 is on Takadona. We're getting ready to leave to retrive him."
She said and Poe smiled brightly.
"Great!"
He cheered and (Y/n) laughed as the both ran out towards their respective ships.

(Y/n) puffed out a white cloud as she stood next to Chewie trying to keep herself as warm as she could. The heavy winter jacket she had on didn't seem to block out any of the frigidness on the planet base. She had joined Han, Chewie and Finn to help rescue Rey and overload the system. They were all walking around the power cells and she was helping Han set up ion charges on the lower level. She glanced at the bridge seeing Kylo Ren walking away from them. She blinked, not even knowing he was there in the first place. (Y/n) ran up towards the bridge, watching her cousin walk away from her.
"Ben!"
(Y/n) yelled, making the Sith stop in his tracks. Han quickly turned to see her and speed walked towards the bridge.
"(Y/n) wait!"
Han called at the girl as she walked closer to his son. (Y/n) ignored his calls and was set on getting to Kylo. They were now about 2 feet away from each other.
"Ben, please. You know this isn't you."
(Y/n) pleaded as Kylo reached for his helmet taking it off. She blinked at the man he had become. the last time they saw each other they were both just teenagers. His face was unreadable as he stared down at (Y/n).
"Ben is dead. He was weak so I killed him."
"No, you know that's not true. He's down there somewhere I can feel it. Ben please come home."
Kylo looked down at the floor, his helmet falling onto the bridge. (Y/n) jumped slightly as the metal shook slightly. He reached to his side, grabbing his lightsaber. (Y/n) felt her heart start to race, not knowing what was about to happen.
"I feel the light in you. You're being torn apart Ben."
(Y/n) whispered, reaching for the lightsaber hilt. Kylo allowed her to grab it and they both held it in front of them. (Y/n) watched her cousin's face, trying to find a sign of anything. A stray tear slipped down his cheek before he looked back up to her. A soft smile pulled at her lips, hoping she had gotten to him. The fact she was so lost in her thoughts, she didn't even notice the hilt being turned to face her. Kylo jerked forward, turning the saber on. The red beam went straight through (Y/n)'s chest, making her gasp. Her eyes widened as she looked down, seeing the hilt.
"Ben...?"
She gasped out. He leaned forward, putting his face next to her ear.
"Thank you."
He whispered softly before yanking the saber out. Loud screams emitted from everyone that watched. (Y/n)'s body fell into the open pit as Kylo pushed her to the side slightly. Han quickly grabbed his blaster shooting Kylo in the side, making him jerk backward. Kylo glanced up to see his father, tears glazing over his face before running out with Chewie and the rest. Kylo coughed slightly and started walking out of the building trying to leave before the charges were detonated.

Another Time Skip but now it's Luke's POV

My eyes widened as I stared at the Falcon, flying towards the island. It made me wonder if Leia had finally found the map. I smiled softly to myself. I had missed my sister a lot. More importantly, I missed (Y/n). I didn't want to abandon her but it seemed like the only right thing to do. She probably would've gone crazy on this island. I sighed softly, looking out at the ocean again. What would I even say to her? She probably is going to ask me a million questions. I heard footsteps crunch down the grass behind me. I turned slightly to see a brunette. She held up my lightsaber making me blink. She handed it to me and I grabbed it. I scoffed and threw it over my shoulder before walking past her. I heard the girl gasp and I rolled my eyes. I made my way towards the Falcon, watching Chewbacca climb out. He turned and looked at me, roaring loudly before running towards me. I laughed and hugged him as he wrapped his arms around me, shaking me slightly.
"I missed you too Chewie."
"Hey kid."
I heard Han say, making me pull away from the wookie. I smiled and so did he. He grabbed me in a tight hug. I sighed and pulled away from him.
"Han, it's so great to see you guys again."
Han chuckled and ruffled my hair making me laugh.
"You're so dramatic, you know that right?"
We pulled away from each other and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Who's the girl?"
"That's Rey. I found her in the Falcon after someone stole it from me."
I blinked, the thought of Han losing the Falcon wasn't something you just thought of every day. Then (Y/n) popped into my mind. I smiled and walked into the Falcon thinking I would find her in there. I walked around, trying to find her. I called her name repeatedly, but my smile faded as Han called for me.
"Luke?!"
Han yelled before walking into the quarters with me.
"Where's (Y/n)?"
I spoke sternly, looking back at him. Han's eyes softened and it hit me. My chest started hurting and I looked to the floor. I quickly pushed past Han who tried to grab my arm.
"Luke, wait!"
Han called as I sped towards my small house. Tears started to fall down my cheeks as I slammed the door behind me. I pushed against it, holding my hand over my mouth. I had felt something change a few days ago but I never would've thought that (Y/n) would've died. My feet dragged away from the door and towards a small fighter pilot doll Leia had made (Y/n) when she was younger. A somber smile pulled at my lips as I held it in my hands. Her laughter and blaster noises she used to make while she played with it rang in my ears. Another sob came out as I held it close to me. The door behind me slowly opened and Han made his way inside. His eyebrows were knitted together as he grabbed onto my shoulder.
"Luke, she sacrificed herself for the Resistance. It should've been me instead of her but she got to Ben before I could even make a step."
Han said softly, I rubbed my eyes hard trying to stop the tears from falling.
"You would've been proud of how brave she's been. She reminded me a lot of you."
I chuckled softly at the words. Han smiled and shook my shoulder.
"But we really need you."
I sighed softly and started pushed him towards the door slightly.
"I need some time, please."
Han nodded and walked out, closing the door behind him. I laid down on my bed and hugged the small doll.

I stared out into the ocean, the breeze was cold and frigid. My breath came out as a white cloud as the stars twinkled above me. I leaned backwards, pulling my cloak closer to my body. A stronger breeze seemed to blow past me. My gut felt like I needed to turn around, like someone was watching me. I slowly turned my head, my jaw dropping as I stared at the person. It was (Y/n). She stood behind me, her (s/c) was now tainted blue and so was her whole body. She wore the whole Jedi get up all of my students wore during training. Words couldn't form in my mouth as I stared at her. A soft smile pulled at her lips.
"Hey Dad."
(Y/n) walked closer to me, taking a seat on the rock next to me. My jaw was still dropped, still not fully grasping the fact that she was gone.
"(Y/n)..I'm..I'm really sorry."
I looked at the girl, proud of how she grew up. She was beautiful in her imperfect ways. (Y/n) turned to look at me.
"You did it to protect me. I get it,"
(Y/n) turned her head to stare into the sky, a smile still on her face.
"Honestly, I kinda like it here."
I chuckled softly, looking at the sky too. I wondered if she was seeing something I couldn't. (Y/n) huffed out a breath, turning to look at me. I caught her gaze and looked towards her.
"What's up?"
"You need to help the Resistance Dad. If you don't do something, Leia might die.."
My heart stopped at that last sentence. She was my sister. I had to protect her with as much as I could.
"Ben needs our help. I could feel the conflict in him, he just needs us to help him."
"I'm sure I'm the last person he wants to see."
I rolled my eyes before closing them.
"You're probably the most important person he needs to see. His mentor that he thought he failed."
(Y/n) said, standing up. I glanced up at her. I had never really seen the serious side of (Y/n) but she obviously learned some tricks from Leia. I sighed and leaned back slightly.
"I'll do what I can sweetie."
I said and (Y/n) smiled. She stood up and pulled up a hood on a Jedi robe that she wore. I smiled and nodded.
"I'll see you again Dad, I'm always here with you."
(Y/n) said.
"What?"
I questioned and she slowly faded away. I sighed softly.
"I see you soon.."

A few nights later, Rey had trained and then left with Han. He was mad that I told him I was going to stay behind for a little bit. I had just used most of my remaining strength to project myself on Crait to everyone that was there. I had used myself as a distrtaction to my nephew to let the Resistance members escape. I stared out at the sunset in front of me as I smiled, taking a deep breath before giving myself into the force. My eyes closed and when I opened them, I saw (Y/n) standing across from me.
"(Y/n)?"
I breathed out and walked towards her. Her eyes widened as she ran towards me.
"Dad?"
(Y/n) quickly threw her arms around me, pushing her face in my chest. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her. I held her close to my body, feeling if I let her go, she would disappear forever.
"I'm here now (Y/n), I always will be."
I whispered as I pressed a kiss on her head.
"I should've never let you go in the first place."
