I had the day off so I was spending my well deserved break lounging. I waved bye to Lisa, watched some trashy reality TV, I even took a bubble bath and painted my toenails, all before 11am. It quickly dawned on me that I'm incredibly bored if I'm either not at work or without Lisa.

Not that I would ever admit this to anyone but, I'm kinda falling in love...
With my job at PlanetRadio.
I mean who would have thought that my love of camera's and photography would be able to translate so well into the world of electronics and digital media?

But regardless of that, I'm genuinely starting to like it here. It took Jisoo a couple days to warm up to me, but after she stopped looking at me as if she wanted to vanish every time I opened my mouth to ask her a question, I realised that she's not that bad really. She's a softie through and through on the inside. I've caught her more than a few times playing Animal Crossing in the break room and I know for a fact she has a matching Hello Kitty key-chain and makeup bag and in her locker for touching up on her eyeliner every now and again.
I like that she's chill and mellow, the total opposite of the boys. Lucas, Johnny and Ten. I swear when I'm on shift with all 3 of them at once, I feel like my head is about to explode from the sheer chaos that ensues when they're all in one room. The first time I met them was on my second day working here, and unfortunately, Jisoo wasn't scheduled to work Tuesday's so effectively, I was thrown into the lions den utterly defenseless.
It went a little something like this.
I'd just changed into my work uniform and was headed to the break room for a quick glass of water before my shift started. I entered expecting to find Jisoo slumped in the corner, but was instead blindsided by 3 guys who all looked at me as if I had two heads or was standing there naked. Or both. Point is, they looked shocked.
"You're not Jisoo..." The tallest one spoke up first, he was leant against the refrigerator with an apple in his hand. I didn't feel comfortable with the way his eyes were traveling over my body.
"No, I'm not, clearly." I shifted awkwardly from one foot to the other.
"So what happened to Jisoo?" Another asked, he was sat on the chair with both his feet propped up on the table. How hygienic. I made a mental note to remember to have my lunch sat on the opposite of where his sneakers were perched. But before I even had a chance to assure him that nothing had happened to Jisoo, the third, and by far the most mischievous looking one, got there first.
"Who gives a shit what happened to Jisoo, this new girl is way hotter." He held out his hand as he looked at me with...I wanna say a really bad attempt at a smoulder. "Hi, I'm Ten, and you are?"
"Pranpriya. I'm new here, just started yesterday." I gave his hand a quick shake before discreetly wiping my fingers on the back of my jeans.
"Leave her alone, you'll scare her off already." The tallest one made his way over to me in two quick strides. "Hey, I'm Johnny, you've unfortunately already met Ten, and that lazy shit in the corner is Lucas." Lucas offered me a quick nod of recognition.
"I take it Chu already showed you the ins and outs of the store yesterday right?"
"Yes she did, I'm familiar with how it all works, it's a pretty small store." I tried to make a lighthearted joke but I don't think any of them were listening to a word that was coming out of my mouth. I'd known these guys 2 seconds and they were already objectifying me, typical.
"Excuse me." I made my way tentatively around Johnny to the sink where I poured myself a glass of tap water and tried to lessen the creeping redness in my cheeks. Don't get me wrong, I usually liked male attention, but at this proximity it was making me flustered, and not in a good way. I ignored the blatant whispers about my ass when my back was turned, and left to go see if there was any stock that needed shelving before opening time.

Fortunately now that I've been here a couple of weeks, the guys have gotten used to me. Ten no longer makes comments about my 'shapely curves' and Johnny doesn't stare at my chest for what feels like a millennia anymore, so all in all, I think we're making progress.
I was placing the price tags on a new shipment of video games when Lucas sidled up to me.
"Priya, just the woman I wanted to see."
I sighed a little on the inside. They'd collectively decided that Pranpriya was far too long a name to say, so to save everyone time, they cut out one syllable and the nickname has stuck. There was no point arguing.
"What is it Lucas? Kinda working on something here."
"Yeah, I can't lie, your current activity looks riveting but I'm gonna need your attention for a quick sec. Or at least long enough for you to hand me your phone."
"No way, what for?"
"So I can put my number in it." I stood up from where I was crouched and branded the price gun with a threatening stance.
"I know where this is going and Ten has already tried it. The answer is no, Lucas, I will not go out with you."
"Gross, you're like my older sister now, in fact you're practically Jisoo."
"Was that meant to be a compliment? For your sake,I sure hope so." Mildly offended, I went back to pricing stock.
"I just wanted it so I could add you to the work group chat. Ten and I are throwing a party tonight, and I figured you'd want the details if you decided to stop by. Before you say no, even Jisoo agreed to coming."
"Seriously, she said yeah?"
"Yep, she's even bringing a couple friends. You should too if it will make you feel better, the more the merrier. I know you're new to the area and probably haven't been out much yet so..."
I offered him a warm smile. It was rare that someone besides Chu treated me with an ounce of decency around here.
"Okay fine, I'll give you my number when we're on break and I'll even think about the offer to come tonight, but I won't make any promises to you yet.Deal?"
"Deal."

I went grocery shopping today just so I'd have something to do. The whole act was so horribly domestic.
I loved it.
Back in the city, where we had our regular lives, I lived alone and so I never really had proper food in the house. I ate most of my meals over business lunches, at bars or ordered takeout after a tiring day at the office. Kind of lonely,but I was so used to the fast paced lifestyle that I barely noticed how little I actually used my penthouse kitchen. I'm sure I only ever lit the stove once, and it was probably to light up a cigarette rather than to cook. It was nice to feel as though I had a proper home to return to, one that was looked after and truly lived in. The sheer thought of Lisa coming back from a long shift at work to a well stocked fridge and a packed snack pantry, made me feel a weird fluttering of satisfaction in my heart.
This whole WPP thing is turning me soft. Ewww.
I caught a cab back because my dumb-ass choose to walk to the supermarket without calculating the fact that I would be left with 9 shopping bags full to the brim and no vehicle to transport them back home in.
I'd just rated my Uber, (only 3 stars cause he didn't help me get any of my shopping in or out of the car, so fuck you Gregory), and was about to start unpacking when Lisa messaged me. She must have been on her break, I hope she's eaten, it's already half 3.
