Aquamarine's pov

-

There was no fucking way she was in front of me right now, I'm dreaming. That was the only explanation. I was probably knocked the fuck out from good sex and now I'm dreaming that could never happen. Right?

I knew it was too good to be true. To sit with my father and hear him actually be mature about something? Nope. Dreaming.

To have my dead mother in front of me right now. I'm dreaming and I can't wait to wake up and see Beverly's face right in front of me.

But what stunned me the most was the fact that my father looked like he had seen a ghost. Her mouth hung open and I could hear his heart pounding rapidly, his grip on his trident skipped away and it feels right to the ground

Nah, I'm not buying into it.

"Damn, you actually look real" I chuckled at the figure that appeared to be my mother as I waved my hand over the man's face, trying to get his attention but he didn't blink once.

Weird.

"Helloooo? Oh yeah, it's a dream so obviously you're frozen" I chuckled

The man's jaw threatened to roll onto the floor, all muscles in his body seemed flat.

"Oh come on, what's going to happen now brain? You'll send Beverly down here in a submarine while wearing a G string? Ptff" I scoffed to myself before turning my attention back to the figure that was supposed to be my so called mother

"You look so realistic, I'm impressed my brain works that well after being turned to mush with all of the junk food I've been eating" I chuckled and swam closer towards the person

My brows furrowed as I circled around the person, they didn't seem any taller than I last remembered my mother. But the person did seem to age

"You're older than I remember" I chuckled

"Aqua..." she whispered, I furrowed my brows once again

The person's eyes softened when they landed on me, her lips parted and trembled slightly as her chest started to rise and fall

"You sound like her too" I said amused

"Aquamarine. It's me" She said once again

"Ma'am, my mother is dead. You're a figment of my imagination. This, is all a dream" I chuckled

The woman then reached her arm out, I sucked in a deep breath when our bodies touched. My eyes went wide as a discomfort in my chest rose. A feeling in my brain like excess caffeine, then it setted in deeper. My brain was screaming as all emotions took over my body.

"It's not a dream. I'm really here baby" she whispered against, this time pulling me into her chest and wrapping her arms around me tightly

There was the hug of gentle arms that still gives the space to breathe, then there is the hug of strong arms that tells everything that your are - body, brain and soul - that they are with you. I always loved her hugs, it was all I needed to start and finish my day. I've gone so long without them, but I remembered every feeling it gave me to have her in my arms. She truly was here.

In the grip of silent panic, my eyes became wild. My pupils dilated and heart started racing,m under her touch. My mind was going full speed, I couldn't stop to think. I couldn't comprehend what was even happening right now. My mother?

I honestly think my brain was on fire, my brain synapses firing like a hyped up internal aurora borealis. How could this even be? How could she possibly be here?

"Crystal!?" my father hissed

"It's really me. I promise" She whispered as her eyes drifted towards my father

I refused to let her go. My heart was going off like a cluster of bombs and my brain turned to mental soup but I knew deep down that she was here and she was real. I just couldn't let her go.

She smiled and pressed even harder into me, her hug was stronger than anything I've ever known, as if holding me wasn't quite enough, she had to feel every ounce that I am press into every ounce that was her. In that moment of feeling her so close, I was awake somehow, more alive than I have been in so very long.

She's alive.

In that moment, I turned to ink letting my hands fall off her back and I hovered here upright and dumbfounded.

She took the opportunity to leap towards my father, her arms around his neck while he held her tightly around her waist. Both eyes shutted as their hearts raced in sync with each other. Squeazing every inch of moment they had into their own skins.

"I.... Wha.... " I mumbled, my head was still spinning in the moment, confused by every single thing that was happening

"It's okay. Take your time and breathe" she said

"How... I... How... " I mumbled

"It's a long story. God I missed you both so much" She whispered and held her hand out towards me

I hesitated at first but still took it. She gave a small smile and pulled me closer into where, holding us into a group hug

My father's hands threw around my back as we all pressed our bodies together, enjoying the moment. In that moment their arms squeezed a fraction tighter and I breathed more slowly, my body melting into my mom's as every muscle lost its tension to the spring air. This was life, real life.

My father wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled me close, gently rubbing my arm. Despite the heaviness in her stomach, it fluttered at the feeling of our together, I allowed my body to sink into the warmth. Their touch made the room warmer somehow.

"I can't believe you're here" I whispered

"I can't believe it either amor" my mother mumbled

"What... What happened.. How are you even here?" My father asked

"Sit, it's going to be a while" She mumbled

I nodded and took my seat on the throne once again next to my father while my mother hovered before us, nervously fidgeting with her fingers

"Oh... That's the throne" She mumbled

"Yeah.. I'm sorry I can get off if you want-" I started to get off her throne but she protested

"No no. It's okay, you seem comfortable on it either way" she chuckled

The small image of her smile was the only thing that called my nerves, my heart was still beating a thousand miles per hour. I just couldn't understand the logic of how she's even here right now. I was there. I saw them take her from me.

"First things first, no I'm not a zombie and no I didn't die" she said, a small smile stretched across my lips knowing it was the first thing I thought of.

"The people... That took me, they took me away to the main land. Far away from anywhere we knew about. It was on an island in Brazil" she said

"You were in Brazil?" I asked

"Yes. For years, until this one" she said

"What happened in Brazil?" father asked

"So... So many things. I can't even describe them because of how terrible and terrifying it was. I've seen things, I've felt things I never want to experience ever again in my lifetime" she said in a low voice, I could tell there was painful behind her words

"It's okay. You don't have to say anything that makes you uncomfortable" I mumbled

My mother turned to face me with a smile, the type of smile that assured you of all your worries. It was the kind of smile that made you know the world was crumbling but you were safe

"So modest, I knew you'd become a mature woman" she chuckled softly. I couldn't bring myself to reply, so I held my head low.

"I finally found the strength to escape, but I left without one thing. Well two, because they had my clothes" she said causing me to smile, remembering the day I washed up on shore naked

"The things they did... It... It made me forget everything I was and had. I didn't even remember my own name" she said

In the corner of my eyes, I noticed my father's fist clenched around the armrest of his throne, his muscles tightened and his arms shook slightly as the rage fueled his body

"I'll kill them. I'll kill every single one of them" he hissed. I'm not sure if I agree with my father on this one but

Some people didn't deserve to breathe.

"Luckily a sweet someone took me in and I've been living with her from since them. That was basically the story of what happened to me, I know you have questions, so go ahead. I'll tell you anything you need to know" She mumbled

I honestly couldn't believe the words that were coming out of my mother's mouth. My mind and body froze, feeling like it had passed slowly, a drop at a time, even freeze, or rush by in a blink.

I nodded but too slowly to be normal. My lips parted to speak speaks but my voice trailed slowly, like my words were unwilling to take flight. There was a sadness in my eyes, the green too glossy, even with being in an ocean.

The past three days had passed like thousands of camera frames per second shown one at a time. In this slow time-bubble the birdsong was louder, coldness was colder and colours were brighter. All the while my insides felt as if there was nothing there, nothing to need feeding, nothing to have need of anything at all.

Instantly, my father's eyes and mine met each other, almost as if we had a conversation with each other through our minds. She nodded and turned to face her

"You must be exhausted, save the questions for another day. You need some rest" I mumbled

"I... Are you sure?" she asked

"I'm sure there's many questions we'd ask, but this is too much for anyone to take in at once" he said

My mother sighed but nodded, her eyes met mine and a shy smile tugged into her lips as she spread her hands out for another hug. I chuckled and reached over to her without thinking, wrapping my arms around her.

God I really hope this was real.
