Two weeks go by, the month turned into October, only two months away from the winter solstice, and all the girls were going crazy about it. Walking through the hallway all you could hear was,
"OMG! My birthday is around that time!"
"OMG! Mine too!"
"Do you think Raven is the one? Her birthday is on the winter solstice after all!" I paused at that and turn towards the girl that said that, marching towards her, I growled,
"Don't ever say that again! I am nor will I ever be in an arranged marriage!" I said as I pushed her into the lockers behind her, she screamed and started to cry,
"Do you understand you little bitch?" She nodded her head and I let her go, I go to walk away when a voice called my name,
"Ms. Raven Mastermourn! Come with me!" I turned and looked at the girl who said that and glared as I walked passed her and walked towards the principal's office.
Mr. Glasgow sighed and softly shut the door to his office, I slumped down in one of the most uncomfortable chair I have ever sat in,
"Ms. Mastermourn, why did you slam Ms. Kendrick into the lockers?" Not meeting his eyes I said,
"She made a comment about something that I am very sensitive about." He wrote that down and said,
"What did she say?" I glared at him before harshly speaking,
"She said that I am the one in that fucking piece of shit arranged marriage! So I got angry at her!" He sighed and said,
"So throwing her into lockers was the solution to the problem at hand?" I nodded and Mr. Glasgow said,
"You're suspended for two days go." I got up and walked out slamming the door before flipping off Mr. Glasgow and his wife. And walked out the school's entrance doors,
"Good job sis!" I heard Desmond yell as I walked past him and his friends that were smoking a cigarette.
Wonder what father is going to do now I thought as I sat down under a willow tree in the park, is he going to hit me like last time? Or is he going to threaten to send me to an all girls school again? The possibilities are endless with him, I wish mother was back from her getaway already. Smoking another cigarette, a voice called out,
"You shouldn't be smoking underneath a tree! Or smoking at all." I looked up and saw that it was Mr. Noble, the packs most respected elder, chuckling softly I put the cigarette out,
"Good girl, now tell me why your not at school Ms. Mastermourn." I looked up at him and said,
"I got into a fight Mr. Noble. And I'm suspended for two days." He shook his head,
"Just like your father. Tell me Raven, what was the fight about?" He asked as he sat down beside me, sighing softly I began to tell him,
"Two weeks ago we started learning more about the Battle of Prosperity, and the punishment to both packs about arranged marriages, that have been around for generations, and it's been 30 years since the last one. And this one takes place around the winter solstice." He nodded and said,
"Ah! My great grandfather was in that battle, he died. It was a very bloody battle but it was a hell of one. You see Raven, that battle was a sign of reassurance to all of the wolf packs in the area, and across the world." I looked at him before asking,
"Then why did the Alpha Queen and King choose that punishment? Why not give them death?" He chuckled at my questions, he patted my hands and softly said,
"Because, the Queen didn't want to kill her most loyal alphas! She would have punished his family line then killing it off, I should know." I looked at him confused,
"What do you mean Mr. Noble?" He sighed and looked at the ever changing leaves of the willow tree,
"I was the second born of my family, I was put into an arranged marriage, did I like it? No, but I realize that it's not that punishable punishment everyone thought it was. Young Raven, I was just like you, I didn't want to have a mate, marriage or a family of my own. I was just wanting to lead the pack, but with the arranged marriage I put me with my destined mate. The moon goddess and the alpha queen work together in this punishment. Eventually you have to accept it." I then had a crazy thought,
"Is everyone in this old town related by blood and the arranged marriage?" He laughed loudly before saying,
"Haha! Oh! Goodness Raven ! You are one imaginative person. No sweetie there are not at all related. The moon goddess and the queen made sure of it. They take two completely different families and put them together, like for instance my family was the most loyal people you could ever meet! But my mate, my wife's family was the most harsh family you could ever meet! But when we're all together, we completely change one another. You will soon see what I mean young Raven !" Mr. Noble soon got up and left me there with more questions, I got up to run after him but couldn't find him anywhere, looking around the park i realize it was dark out, there was no one around me, panicking I pulled out my phone and checked the time, it's 12 o'clock in the morning. Turning around in every direction I was confused, where am I? Surely I didn't walk far from my school! I started to get a panic attack and couldn't breathe, soon the world became black.
Malcolm/Falco's POV
I sighed as I rubbed my eyes, I was working late in pack stuff tonight, but something was off. As I go to stand my office doors burst open and there stood my oldest son Elijah, with a panic stricken face,
"Have you seen Raven ?" He asked quickly looking all over the office with his eyes, confused I asked,
"What do you mean Elijah?" He sighed and rubbed his face hard,
"She was suspended from school due to slamming a girl into a locker by some comment she made and left school, but no one knows where she went or left too! Desmond said that she flipped him off and ran away off of school property heading towards the park, but I already checked, she isn't at the park or home! I tried to call her cell but she isn't answering!" I looked at him before grabbing my coat,
"Come on! I call the pack and have them start searching!" He nodded and walked after me heading towards our cars, stopping I said,
"Call Desmond, tell him that we are going to go look for her." And got into my car driving home before shifting into my wolf,
"What's wrong Malcolm?" Asked my wolf Falco
"Raven is missing. We don't know where she is!" I said as I sniffed around the forest but couldn't find a scent, Falco growled and said,
"Let me take over!" I nodded and felt him take control.
I rolled my neck feeling the cracking of it, I looked around my surroundings before sniffing the ground, I smelt a faint scent of rose water, daffodils, I then took off towards where the scent was coming from there underneath a willow tree was a cigarette with black lipstick around it, I then mind link to my pack,
"I found a cigarette with Raven's lipstick on it. I'm at the abandoned park by the sweetwater river, she's got to be near!" Soon the pack members chimes in saying,
"You got it alpha! We were on our way!" Soon it was silent in the mind link channel, I sniffed the ground and smelled another scent, of newspapers, coffee, and death? I questioned the third one of the scent, after sniffing around the ground for another hint a voice chimes in the mind link channel,
"Alpha! I found her! She's freezing cold! We're near the river border of the treaty!" I sighed as I took of towards the boundary line, shifting back to human form, I let Malcolm take back over,
"Thank you Falco!" He said before taking full control.
After taking control back over I ran changed into some clothes before running towards my omega and my daughter, when I got there my omega looked up at me, nodding my head towards him and said,
"Thank you for staying with her Lycan." He nodded his head and said,
"Of course Alpha!" And waited for an another order,
"Mind link Elijah and the pack Doctor, please Lycan." I said as I picked up my baby girl, and Lycan looked at me before,
"Elijah is on his way with is car and blankets, Dr. Strauss is waiting in your living room, alpha." I nodded and moved a piece of Raven's hair out of her eyes, cringing as I saw her bruise from the other day.
After what felt like hours of waiting Elijah showed up with his car, putting the car in park and got out and handed me a thick blanket and wrapped it around me and Raven, leading us to his car I got in the back with Raven, holding on to her as he drove like a mad man,
"Elijah, son. Please slow down!" I said as he looked at me through the Rearview mirror and he said,
"We almost home anyways father, so no." And continued to speed up, shaking my head I felt Raven start to stir in her sleep,
"What was the arrangement that fell through Mr. Noble?" She said as she started to toss and turned in my arms, I looked at Elijah confused,
"Mr. Noble? Sir where are you?" She shouted as she started to kick and thrashing around,
"Raven, shh baby girl. Daddy's got you baby. Shh." She whimpered in her sleep, soon we pulled into the driveway of our house and Elijah opened the back passengers door and slid Raven out before picking her up and running towards the front door where Desmond stood at,
"Mom is home, I called her." He said as I approached the front door, nodding my head I followed after Elijah and Raven.
"Set her here baby." Said Leah as she guided Elijah where to put Raven, after laying her down on the couch as she rushed to her doctors bag, stepping back I bumped into Belle, who wrapped her arms around my waist,
"Do you know a Mr. Noble?" I whispered to her and she shook her head no at me,
"No, why?" Sighing I turned towards Leah and Raven,
"Raven was talking in her sleep about Mr. Noble, asking questions about the arranged marriages and the battle of prosperity." Belle looked at raven before saying,
"I remember my father telling me about the noble pack that was here before we established the Elderfell pack. Mr. Noble died in the battle, he was a beta for the alpha of the Elderfell pack, his son took over and had three boys, the second being in an arranged marriage, this creating the Lawrence creek pack, but then his second son was put into an arranged marriage with the second daughter of Elderfell alpha and they both died cause they didn't accept each other." We then stopped talking as Leah still worked on Raven,
"She doesn't have any sign of someone trying to rape her or trying to take her. Other than the bruises from the other day, there's nothing." She said as she was stumped, Raven then said,
"Am I the girl in the next arranged marriage Mr. Noble?" I looked towards her and watched as she started to growl softly, Elijah grabbed Leah and pulled her back,
"What?" She said but before anyone could say anything about it, Raven shot up screaming,
"No! I refuse!" Then started to cry,
"Why? Why?" I rushed over and wrapped her in a hug,
"Your okay Raven, daddy and momma got you. Shh baby." She slowly calmed and wrapped her arms around me and Belle.
Looking over my shoulder I thank Leah for coming before picking up Raven,
"She can stay with us tonight Malcolm. I don't want her to be all alone." I smiled softly at my wife,
"I think that a good idea hunny." She nodded and said,
"Give me her and I'll change her real quick." I laughed and said,
"Are you sure you can carry her?" She chuckled and smiled,
"Okay smart ass, I can most definitely carry my 17 year old daughter." I laughed and handed her Raven, and off they went. After waiting for her to get done changing her I walked into our bedroom and grabbed some clothes before getting changed in the bathroom before finally crawling in bed.
