Time : Before Inaayat and Nivaan got into a proper relationship but of course had feelings for each other
Nivaan's POV
Two of my friends were dead. And RAW didn't even want to intervene
I tried explaining to Rajeev Luthra who somehow seemed convinced
"Barkha and Sana could have been killed also sir, we never know" I said.
"We just can't enter a nation and carry out an operation Nivaan you very well know there are protocols" He said
"The killer will continue his spree then, without protocols" I retorted
"But Nivaan there's only one person who's trained enough to go to Istanbul and carry out this mission" He said
"The others weren't that trained too sir, you can assign anyone that work and we'll work together as a team, the killer will be caught very soon" I promised
"Alright then go meet Reza, I'll see you in five" He informed
I looked around when I didn't find Adil
"Nivaan? "
"Inaayat? " I asked surprised.
"Inaayat come on, I was waiting for you, let's get into the conference room" He said
"Here are your IDs" Rajeev sir said sliding a file and an ID card
"Don't disappoint me" He said as we nodded.
"Farooq Ali, Sounds like a good name no? " I asked
She didn't even nod.
"Sir why him, I can solve this case alone" She said
"The lead we have on this case Inaayat I'm sure it's related to Dev's death and don't forget Nivaan is the reason you're recruited" He said
"That doesn't mean I wasn't capable enough" She protested
"We're not talking about your capabilities Inaayat we are talking about the leads I have and the experience of mine which can help you" I said
Inaayat was the most loveliest person I'd ever met. But when she was at RAW she was the biggest competitor of mine. She behaved as if she didn't even know me and loathed me.
But what if she actually didn't like me?
"But sir who's leading the team? " She asked
"It's a team work, Partnership Inaayat not ownership" I said
And finally after we reached Istanbul it took us 4 chases until we caught one person but then Inaayat was the one who nabbed him
She interrogated him and got all the details of her boss.
"Did he say the name? " I asked her
"No but then, I have the location and other details" She said showing me a paper
I nodded
"That's how I work - Diligence, preparation and homework" She said smiling
"Just a second" I said and walked up to the man
While Inaayat went to check with the location I began my interrogation - the rough way - hitting and hurting him
"What's his name? " I asked him
"Kabir" He said
I had a hunch and it was only coming true now.
Inaayat came back and she looked at me and the empty chair
"Where's that guy? " She asked
"He's gone I freed him" I said
"Nivaan, he was a suspect" She said walking forward and then looked at the dead body
"Freed him from the worldly pleasures and problems" I said walking upto her "want some coffee? "
"But still he was a suspect and we were supposed to take him back alive" She replied taking the coffee mug from me
She looked around as I noticed some kind of different equipment placed on the table
It was blinking, it wasn't there until I walked down to get some coffee for myself
So obviously someone planted it, but no one knew the adress of the safe house other than RAW agents
"Hello Haan bhaiya, I can't hear you hold on" She said
"Nivaan I'm going out to take a call andar signal nahi hai" I said nodding
Wait that could just mean one thing
I ran out of the safe house and saw Inaayat in the garden, I ran to her
"We need to go from here now" I said
"What? I'm not coming anywhere! " She replied checking for the network
I pulled her and I ducked her down
"What the hell Nivaan I dropped my phone" She said getting up
"Inaayat wait.. "
But even before I could react she took a few steps and the safe house blasted
The impact of the blast was huge enough and she fell to the floor on her knees.
"Inaayat" I said rushing to her side
"You knew this place was about to blast? " She asked
"That's how Nivaan Mallik works - Gut feeling, aggression and deduction " I said when I noticed something was wrong
"Inaayat? "
She was sweating and trembling, she was breathing hard and quick so there was shortage of breath.
The symptoms of panic attacks and heart attacks are always similar so without wasting a moment I knew what I had to do.
I immediately called for the ambulance, once we reached the hospital I showed them my ID card as I asked for help of another doctor to help me out
And that's when I learned
Inaayat Reza suffers from panic attacks.
Few hours later she gained her consciousness.
"Hey" She said sitting straight
"How are you feeling? " I asked
"Tired, sleepy and exhausted" She said
"Well I have a bad news, we have to abort the mission here ; RAW wants us to go underground for a while, I'll stay here in Istanbul but you'll have to go back to your home" I said in a low tone
She nodded
"Thank you for saving my life" She said
"Maine tumhari nahi apni jaan bachayi hai" I said
She smiled
"You're so cheesy Nione Mal-lick" She said imitating Saxena sir.
"Inaayat, I... I'll tell you something after I meet you the next time I mean after these three months" I said

"Nivaan"
A feminine voice woke me up from my dreams
"Sonia hey.. How long have I been out? " I asked
"Really long, it's afternoon already" She said handing me over some coffee "here's your bed coffee"
"I wonder how Zee is doing" I said
"You know Inaayat well don't you? She'll take care of him, especially now that she thinks he's your brother" She said
"Thinks? Zayn is my brother" I replied
"Alright alright now calm down, I have to go meet him remember? You'll be there right? " She asked
I nodded
"So what's the plan? " She asked
Well the second phase of the game had just begun.
