"Sagey poo, did you know blue is a fucking unicorn shit?" Danny tells me his face trained on the TV.
"What!.where did you hear that from" I shreeched turning pale.
"My friend told me rainbow is..." I cut him off
"No not that the last word and the f word"
"Shit and fucking?"
I nod so fast I think my brain shifted.
Oh my goodness did I mistakenly say those words and he heard now his saying it. No. no. no .
"Oh dad said it. I asked him what it meant and he said it was poop and he said fucking is used to give more meaning to a word" Danny answered proudly thinking he has impacted knowledge on me.
"Don't say those words again".
I warn him staring straight into his eyes.
"Why not?" He huffed crossing his hand in annoyance.
"Because..." I started thinking what would I say to convince a six year old that shit and fucking aren't nice words to say.
"It's what naughty children say,you do know santa gives naughty children coal and you don't want coal do you?"
I smirked remembering Danny is obsessed with Christmas and he'll never want to ruin his chances with santa.
"Noooo....i promise never to say it again." He cried clutching my leg like his life depended on it.
It's been over a month since the kidnapping incident, Wynns birthday had passed even though she had invited me I couldn't make it but I sent her a gift, a mobile chemistry lab pack, which she loved by the way.
Xavier had tripled the security and upgraded the system.
Atleast that's what Wynn told me.
She was disappointed that I could not make it though, I had a feeling that she knew I was trying to stay away from her family so as to not cause another scandal.
Since I'm a full time nanny I decided to commit more time to that since it's now my sole source of lively hood.
Don't get me wrong the gig is sweet and the pay great but the thing is I didn't go to college to spend the rest of my life watching kids.
I love kids but that's too far, besides I get rejected most times when the parent hear I'm the one whose going to the nanny of the day, they think I'm going to 'kidnap' their kid which i don't plan to do.
"Don't tell santa" He whisper almost as if he were scared santa could hear him.
"My lips are seal" I drag my hand over my lips making a zipping motion "And if you promise to be good, I'll go all the way to the north pole to wipe your name off the naughty list forever" I whispered back making him smile even brighter as he nodded excitedly.
Danny and I ran around playing till he was tired. I made him take a shower, brush his teeth and sent him off to bed.
Feeling the need for fresh air I stepped outside taking deep breaths and welcoming the cold night air.
I was enjoying the peace and quietness of the night but was interrupted by my phone.
"Hello" I answered
"Sage, he left" Nina's voice cried from the other side.
For those who don't remember Nina is or was my sister untill she ran off with my ex fiance on my birthday/ wedding day.
"Take a deep breath and tell me what happened" I tried calming her down as she was now gasping for air .
"H-he's been gone for days now I don't know what to do our rent is due, and I haven't eaten for nearly two days" She cried.
Even though i am meant to hate her guts, she was still my sister after all.
"Ok I'll assist you in any way I can after all that little rascal in you is my nephew or niece".
"Thank you sage" she said before adding
"Yeah uh I think I'm going to come back to the States, I can't afford it here maybe I could stay at your place till I get my self together, you can say no I get it but I just need to leave here" she rushed in a single breath.
" I can't help you there because I myself am squatting with Adam" I tell her not ready to re visit the incident where I became homeless, lost my job and got tagged a kidnapper and arrested all in the span of a week.
"Is it because of the Xavier knight scandal?" She asked
"Yes how did you know?"
"It was all over the news I tried calling but you rejected my calls"
I wasn't with my phone through out the week it all went down maybe it was Adam or the phone died or was turned off.
"Oh well I guess it's alright then talk to you later " I say to her
" Yes bye remember to keep me updated" she says.
"Yeah sure" I tell her before hanging up, I guess I don't hate my sister anymore she just helped me realize that Andrew wasn't the best choice and I'm weridly thankful to her at least I didn't marry the jerk.
Danny's parents came back from their vacation two days later and I was free to leave before I left, Danny made me a drawing of what was meant to be him and I together but looked a lot like some demon from the nun but he doesn't have to know that little fact .
I bid the family fare well and I was off to Adam's condo I dropped off my bag and left a note on the fridge before going out for a stroll.
last time I didn't leave a note Adam was freaked out, his boyfriend Denzel had to talk some sense into him, he was pissed when I came back I was confused as to why he didn't just call me and his response was
"If you were on the run from the mafia or hidding from some whack serial killer and I called you, you would be in more danger or imagine if you had been kidnapped and the kidnappers forces you to say you are fine and I stop worrying thinking you are fine only to find you in a ditch later. A note is more preferable don't argue with logic".
I was definitely baffled because all what he said made some sort of sense in a werid disturbing way and all I could do was blink as he stormed out of the room Denzel just shrugged and hurried after him.
I needed to hurry back and plan for my "Date" with Danielle's friend who she hasn't told me the name of, it's either she forgot to or she thinks she've told me. Her friend was attending a charity gala and he invited me to be his date.
Which I accepted besides I want to give this dating thing a try can't let my whole life be dictated by some stupid mistake I made in the past.
She had taken me to a saloon and I had my hair treated and trimmed since it had grown quite a lot.
I wasn't all that excited when I told Adam about my date with Danielle's mystery friend.
He fell over in shock
"What! You are going on a date?" He asked shocked still evident on his face.
"A charity gala to be exact but sure" I walked around him to get a bottle of water.
Adam exchanged a secret smile between him and Denzel who returned it with the same energy and I was getting worried.
"Finally she's gonna get laid" Denzel smirked diverting my attention from their werid smile and I whacked him on the head extra hard.
Denzel is Adam's boyfriend, you know the mysterious guy he met some weeks back. They got serious really fast and are happy together.
"Hey" He complained rubbing his head "that hurts"
"Well that is the point" I rolled my eyes at him.
"Sometimes I think I'm the only one who has sense in this house" I comment
"Sense involves the use of brain power, and you have neither" Denzel retorted
