The scene opens up to Glynda restoring the lunch room. What stared as a minor food fight, turned into a fully length battle field between Team RWBY and Team JNPR. It was soon stopped by Professors Ozpin and Goodwitch. Afterwards, the two teams then noticed the absence of a certain team.
Ruby: um, Professor Ozpin, do you know where Team DVNT is?
Glynda: they're with Team CFVY in my class room. Something about an extra sparing session.
They two teams then decided to pay them a visit and found Velvet holding Ember and with CFVY talking with Mimir.
Coco: so that's how you wound up in Limbo.
Mimir: correct. While I'll take that over being tortured by Odin, it was a bit boring being stuck in one small corner for a long time. Not to mention I've hated seeing reality breaking and lack of a real sun. Though, speaking of suns, remind me to tell you about the wolves. (Sees the teens) ah, hello lads and lasses.
Ruby: hey guys. What are you doing here?
Fox: Dean and the others wanted to do some sparing, so we're watching Ember. Mimir's been sharing some stories.
Velvet: not just of the Norse gods, some of Remnant as well.
Yang: you know about Remnant?
Mimir: I'm a knowledge keeper! The special thing about us, is that we hold a special magic that allows us to gain the knowledge of the land and important people. Course, I've been listening to your history through the classes.
Blake: it's important to know history, so we don't repeat it.
Nora: so, where's the super team?
Her question was answered when they hear clashing. They turn to see DVNT fighting each other and going full force on each other. They were shocked to see them fighting like this, even more that they were each delivering strikes that if weren't blocked, could kill someone. They deliver a few strikes for a bit until they were staggered back.
Dean: (chuckling) no bad. I think I'm in the lead.
Vali: you lost count, Dean. I'm ahead.
Nikki: you boys are as clueless as always. I've been better than you all.
Týra: this is not a competition, my friends. But if it was, I'm easily ahead.
DVN: what!?
Dean: (smirks) in that case, let's kick it up a notch!
He and Vali go Devil Trigger, Nikki summons a smaller version of Madama Butterfly, and Týra engages her Spartan rage. They then charge towards each other, dealing blows towards each other as their auras started depleting faster and faster, until they were at zero.
Now, a normal person would see this, and stop fighting, less the person deals permanent damage. But keep in mind, this four are no where near normal. Instead of stoping, and even after their semblances stopped, they kept going, all the way until Dean's sword went straight through Vali's chest, Nikki's whip snaps Dean's neck completely, Vali's katana stabbed Týra in her chest, and Týra's axe lands right on Nikki's head.
Everyone but CFVY: (scream in horror)
They all hurry down to them. Ember sees this and starts crying, and Velvet tries to calm her.
Jaune: why didn't they stop?!
Weiss: (holds Vali up) Vali... why did you do that... I-I didn't tell y-
She was caught off by Dean's lagughter. Then, to their shock, Vali's body goes all the way through the sword and he stands back up. The others soon follow.
Dean: (twists his head back into place) whoa!!! That was a rush!
Nikki: (pulls the axe off) I think that's a new record for us.
Týra: (pulls sword out) our skills have improved.
Vali: also, it seems like we've gained an audience.
They all return their respective weapons, and Týra picks Ember up and calms her down. She sees that they're indeed alive, and laughs happily. They then look back to the dumbfounded teams.
Dean: (casually) hey guys, what's up?
Everyone but CFVY and Mimir: WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT'S UP!?!
Pyrrha: how are you alive!?
Yang: you practically impaled yourselves!
Nora: what did you do!?
Yatsuhashi: Dean and Vali's demon side helps them survive. Same with Nikki's witch blood.
Coco: but Týra's still a mystery.
Mimir: I might have a few theories.
Ruby: wait, you guys have done this before!?
Dean: a few times. We've often been experimenting on how serious our injuries can go. We're not immortal, but it's hard to kill us.
Weiss: that's dangerous!
Velvet: that's what we said when they did this.
Ruby: you guys should be careful with stuff like this! You're supposed to keep Ember safe, and you can't do that if you're dead!
Vali: we're aware at what we're doing. Besides, we have people that will watch over Ember should something happen.
Mimir: well, you four are either clever, or stupid. By the way, why are you lot covered in food?
The next day, The team was in the library, doing some reading. The girls were playing a board game (Ruby and Yang were, Weiss was confused, and Blake lost interest), JNPR was doing a little studying, too (Jaune, Ren, and Pyrrha were, and Nora was asleep). They were looking through books, and Dean wanted to know more info.
Dean: hey Mimir, what happened to Dante and Vergil after Sparda?
Mimir: lad, if you wanted to visualize Cain and Able, put your father and uncle in their places. When they were eight years old, their home was attacked by Mundus's forces. His hatred for Sparda had grown to the point where he wanted he not only wanted Sparda dead, but to also take away everything he had ever held dear. One night, Sparda was away from home, never to be seen again. That's when Mundus struck. His forces attacked the house and your grandmother, Eva, quickly hid Dante, and told him that if she didn't return, to change his name and start a new life. She then ran off to find Vergil—but sadly she was killed not a second later.
Dean: so, where was Vergil during this time?
Mimir: Vergil was at a cemetery near the house when he saw the fire. Next thing he knew, he was assaulted by demons. He fought as hard as he could, but the boy wasn't strong enough, and was soon stabbed with his own sword. But the demons quickly knew that was a mistake, for the sword tapped into his devil side, and he used his new found power to kill the demons. After that, he believed he was the only survivor, because he didn't have power. That began his quest for power, but I'll tell you about that later. You know, you're going down a similar path, Vali. And you should know where that will lead.
Vali: keep talking, and cut you in half.
Mimir: whatever you say, blue demon.
They then noticed Blake leaving. They were concerned for her, especially Nikki. They first just left it as it was, but of course, Ember had other ideas. Since CFVY was called for a mission, they couldn't watch her.
Blake arrives back to her team's dorm, only to find Ember siting on her bed. She just shakes her head and sits next to her.
Blake: Nikki's right, you are a trouble maker.
She just sits with her for a bit until she hears the door open and her teammates and DVNT enter.
Yang: ugh, we should have never let Dean play!
Dean: now, now, no need to be a sore loser. (Yang glares at him)
Ruby: you're just mad cuz' he beat you. See, if you had just attacked when I told you none of this would have happened.
Vali: the outcome still would've been the same.
Dean: (sees Ember) there you are! Sorry about that, Blake.
Blake: (hands her back) it's alright.
Blake then goes to leave, but Weiss stops her.
Weiss: (points) stop! (Blake stops) lately you've been quiet, antisocial and moody!
Yang: uh, have you met Blake?
Weiss: which I get is kind of your thing, but you've been doing it more than usual! Which quite frankly, is unacceptable! You made a promise to me, to all of us, that you would let us know if something was wrong! (Flips through the air as six copies of her emblem fly through the air) so, Blake Belladonna, what is wrong!? (She points her finger at Blake again)
Weiss is shown to be balancing precariously on a chair's back feet. She quickly puts the chair away and returns to stand near the girls.
Nikki: in all seriousness, what's going on?
Blake: I just, I don't understand how everyone can be so calm.
Ruby: (approaching Blake) You're still thinking about Torchwick?
Blake: Torchwick, the White Fang, all of it! Something big is happening and no one is doing anything about it!
Yang: Ozpin told us not to worry. Between the police and the Huntsmen, I'm sure they can handle it.
Blake: well I'm not! They don't know the White Fang like I do!
Týra: lately, they haven't been behaving the way you know them.
Dean: Blake, I get it; you were one of them once, for a good cause. But that was a lifetime ago. You haven't had any contact with them in years, so you can't deny that times have changed.
Blake: I know. But I have to do something.
Weiss: okay, between blowing up nightclubs, stopping thieves, and fighting for freedom, I'm sure the three of you think that you're all ready to go out and apprehend these ne'er-do-wells!
Ruby: uh, who?
Dean: bad guys.
Ruby: oh!
Weiss: but let me once again be the voice of reason. We're students! We're not ready to handle this sort of situation!
Ruby: well yeah, but...
Weiss: we're not ready! I mean, (gestures to DVNT) they didn't have all the knowledge for their first mission, and look how that ended. (Quickly while looking at Ember) not that that's was a bad thing!
Blake: and we may never be ready! Our enemies aren't just going to sit around and wait for graduation day. (Pointing toward the door) they're out there, somewhere, planning their next move, and none of us know what it is, but it's coming! Whether we're ready or not!
Karasu: well, if you want to do something so badly, how about some reconnaissance?
Dean: that's... actually not a bad idea. Why can't you be like this more often?
Mimir: you forget, he's an OCD pidgin.
Karasu: I am NOT a pidgin!
Ruby then raises her hand and does other random gestures.
Ruby: okay, all in favor of becoming the youngest Huntresses and Huntsmen to single-handedly take down a corrupt organization conspiring against the Kingdom of Vale... say aye.
Yang: (Pumps her fist enthusiastically and points at Blake) yes! I love it when you're feisty!
Weiss: well, I suppose it could be fun.
Vali: these forces can't gain any more power.
Nikki: we'll need to find a sitter for Ember, but this sounds good.
Týra: we'll do this smart.
Ruby: none of you said aye!
Dean: aye! (Ruby smiles)
Blake: alright then, we're in this together!
Ruby: (gesturing) let's hatch a plan!
Yang: ("double-guns" at Ruby) yeah!
Ruby: (gasps as she freaks out) I left my board game at the library!
Weiss: (face palms) we're doomed.
As Ruby runs out of the room, Dean follows her, and sees she accidentally ran into a couple of students from Haven Academy.
Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury
Dean: everything okay?
Cinder: yes. Your friend was just in a rush. You're Dean from DVNT, correct?
Dean: if I am?
Cinder: Professor Jupiter speaks highly of you.
Dean: cool.
Ruby: (thinks a bit) ooh! You're here for the festival! But exchange students have their own dormitory.
Mercury: I guess we just got turned around.
Ruby: hey, don't worry, it happens all the time. (Mercury and Emerald walk past Ruby and Dean.) Uh, your building is just east of here.
Cinder: thanks. (Walks past them, gesturing in acknowledgement), maybe we'll see you around.
Ruby: yeah, maybe!
Dean: well, see you around, ms...
Cinder: Cinder.
Ruby: oh, uh, and welcome to Beacon!
As Dean watches them leave, he gets an odd feeling in the back of his head.
Dean's Thoughts: something's off about them. I should tell the others just in case.
Little did Dean knew, that they would be a part of something that would change things for the worse.
Author's note: four way dual!
This fight was to basically demonstrate their skills towards one another. They'll have more matches like this in the future.
I don't know if this is officially how Mimir gains his knowledge, but for this story, this is how it works. I'm also thinking about looking into other pantheons for them to have some stories.
Cinder and her lackeys are here. Our main four will keep an eye on them, and it will end badly for both sides.
