it is hard to explain it so someone
who has never experienced:
the questions
the ambiguity
the unknown
the wondering
the doubt that hangs in the air
that circulates through my brain
that chokes my heart
only to revive it with false hope
it is a scar
that's has its stitches undone
its wound reopened, bleeding out
every time it happens
the same thought
rummages through my brain:
"are you leaving me?"
