after sending patient in the operating room, Zhan started searching for Ji Yang
"who brought him here? i mean new patient with knife wound"
"the young boy, about same age as him, when i came back after calling you he was already gone. police is already looking for him"
"this case seems quite fishy, wish not something bad is going to happen again. ok you can return to your work" Zhan petted his shoulder and was going to leave
"wait doctor, is he someone you know?"
"no, why do you ask?"
"cause i have never seen you act like that before, i mean out of control. thought he was precious for you"
"he isn't" Zhan sat down, lowering his head "what is wrong with me, i amn't this emotional, he wasn't first one who almost died in front of me"
he was feeling very uneasy and nervous until operation was done, seeing patient's face wasn't very pale anymore and his heart rate totally normal, Zhan breathed out in relief.
"why did you ask me to operate on him, when you could do it too?" surgeon Haikuan smiled at the Zhan "don't worry he is ok now, but think won't be able to wake up for a few days. how could someone treat him brutally like that"
"you're more experienced than me gege, thanks for doing great work as always"
"but it was you who saved him first, are you going to leave now?"
"yes for a few weeks, you know main department is asking for me. I'll be back soon, see you later gege" Zhan slightly opened the door and looked at the young boy, unconsciously laying on the bed "please stay safe until i'm back..."
"hey Wei Wuxian, when the hell are you going to wake up? we're going to be late" Jiang Cheng kicked his ass with leg and shouted again
"it hurts you brat, i want to sleep for more five minutes please" Wei Ying cried out from under blanket
"do you even know where are we going to study? aren't you curious?"

"what?" Wei Ying quickly jumped on the bed, widening his sparkling blue colored eyes . his long, black hair was messily thrown around shoulders and beautiful face. red full lips were pouting cutely, slightly showing his dimples. even half asleep, everyone could tell he was truly beauty.
"guess you're interested now, finally going to meet someone certain" Jiang Cheng mocked and stuck his tongue out to Wei Ying
Sad but still joyful smile appeared on Wei Ying's face, remembering one of the happiest time from his childhood, when they first met...

"Come here Wangji, look this boy is going to live with you for a while, treat him kindly ok?" Lan Xichen petted his little brother's hair and pointed at the Wei Ying who was curiously looking at Lan Zhan, it was first time for him seeing someone this eternal and angelic, with small pale face, cold yet warm eyes and rosy lips
"Yes gege" shyly answered him and hid his blushful face behind Xichen's robe.
Wei Ying's parents were going to the night hunt for a week, so they decided to leave him at cloud recesses, as oldest Lan Qiren was his mother's old friend. Who knew they could never...
"What a beautiful headband you have" Wei Ying ran to Lan Zhan and raised his tiny hand to touch it
"Go away you can't" his face became red, moving back with fast steps
"You're bad" pouted Wei Ying "i won't let you touch my red tie too"
"Wangji don't be mean, little Wei is our guest, you can take him to your room now" Lan Xichen tried to hide his smile, watching these two adorable kids
"my room?" Lan Zhan's eyes widened in surprise
"sure, it's first time he is here, in totally unfamiliar place. let him stay and sleep with you ok?"
"mnn, follow me"
Wei Ying was looking around with curious eyes, he was used living in the small village far from any luxury, his clothes was totally different from what little boy walking in front of him was wearing. Lan Zhan's room was huge and very light, Wei Ying hopped on the bed which was placed next to window and started looking outside, view was really fascinating "Wangji ge, you're very lucky living here and having this comfy room and bed "
"you don't have bed?" Lan Zhan sat next to him and get ready to listen
"my bed is usually green grass" giggled Wei Ying "my parents love to wander, but guess i'll sleep very well today" he lay down dragging Lan Zhan with him
"let me go, i don't touch strangers"
"but i can't sleep without holding someone"
watching Wei Ying's sad, pleading eyes Lan Zhan gave up and moved his little hand giving permission. the other one smiled widely, showing his bunny teeth and tightly held his wrist
"sweet dreams my new friend" whispered him and closed his eyes, already falling asleep
"sweet dreams bothersome one" mumbled Lan Zhan and maybe first time in his life, small smile shook his lips.
more than one week passed by, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan didn't realize how precious they become for each-other. used boring, stern life finally there was someone who made Lan Zhan laugh and feeling what being child means. running and playing around, bothering everyone became Lan Zhan's fave act too, days were funny and happy and nights were sweet. he get used holding Wei Ying's hand in his own, seeing colorful dreams as this little sunshine was sleeping next to him. but his happiness ended too soon, Lan Zhan was left alone again as reason of his smile was stolen.
"dage, why is Wei Ying crying?" asked Lan Zhan to his brother with trembling voice
"his parents... they're not coming back anymore Wangji, this kind uncle is going to adopt him and take at his house" Xichen sadly smiled
"is he orphan like us now?"
"yes, but don't worry, he has new family now"
"can't he stay he...." how much he wanted to ask, to beg but who was going to listen? all he could do was holding his hand last time and saying goodbye with eyes full of tears.
"Wangji gege, i'll miss you" sobbed Wei Ying not willing to let go
"we'll meet again Wei Ying, maybe not soon but we'll"

and now after ten years of longing they're standing in front of each-other, trying to hide their emotions from others. many things changed, they became grown up men, with many experience and scars caused by cultivation, one was cold like ice while other warm like sun, but the most important thing still remained, sweet memories of each-other.
