I wake up to sunlight shining on my fur. Immediately I hear my stomach growl; a sign for me to eat something. I chang back to my human shape and open one of the tins I brought with me. Delicious. I opened a random can and eat some of it. I end up eating the whole can because I was quite hungry. Suddenly the realisation hits me; what am I going to eat when the cans are gone? I only have two left, so I barely have enough for two days. And thats not enough time to find a new pack to stay, or find somewhere I can stay permanently. "Amelia, where are you?" I ask hopeless. "I'm just here" She quickly answers. "oh okay, but I have a question. What am I going to do when the food is finished?" I ask. "Then you are going to hunt" Theres a annoyed tone in her voice, like I'm supposed to know this already. "what ?! Hunting?" I say suprised. "Do you want to starve to death?" I can imagine the face she's making right now; eyebrows up, and a accusing look in her eyes. "no of course not," I scoff. "then start hunting!" She almost shouts.
"Okay, I'm really looking forward to it." I sigh and hope she didnt miss the sarcasm in that sentence.
"Concentrate Amy!" After Amelia convinced me to hunt, I turned into my wolf and went looking for a prey. A rabbit. Thought, I dont know if its convincing or just threatening me with that I'll starve if I dont hunt. I bow my head down a little so I'm camouflaged by the bush in front of me, and I attack the rabbit who's standing a few metres away from me. When I'm about the catch it, it sees me and runs away. And so I now have to look for new prey. Over there is one in the bushes. I silently run towards it and bite his neck with my eyes closed so I dont have to see the poor thing die. I walk back to the cave and change to my human form and get dressed.
I open another tin and put the rabbit in the back of the cave. I'll deal with the animal later, right now I need something to drink. Careless I go to the lake to drink some water.
Then I hear a sound behind me. I quickly turn around and change to my wolf. My clothes are torn apart because I didn't have time to take them off.
Oh well, bad luck, I brought 3 other outfits with me.
In front of me is a large brown wolf with brown eyes that looks at me with a threatening look.
My body is trembling and it takes a lot of courage to not run away and hide somewhere where he cant go. I growl at him and enter a combat position, hoping I look at least half as threatening as he does right now. Still fighting the urge to flee, I take a step towards him. He lies down as a sign of submission. Relieved, I walk over to him and see that he has a large wound on his side. I push my muzzle against his other side as a sign that he should get up. "Change back to your human form" I mind link to him. He nods and stands behind a tree to transform. I go into the cave and quickly transform too, so I can give him a few pieces of my clothes to wear. I choose the grey sweatpants and a T-shirt for the other wolf to wear. When I'm outside again I throw them toward the boy and turn around so he can dress himself in private.
The boy comes out from behind the tree. He is quite tall, maybe 6,2 feet. He has brown hair and his skin is slightly tinted. ''Come,'' I gesture for him to follow me into the cave. Confused, he follows me, and I take care of his wound with some stuff that apparently were in the bag. It's useful thought. After what feels like hours I'm finally done with the bandage. ''So, who are you?'' I then ask.
He says he is called Samuel and has been rouge all his life. "And you? How did you get here?" He asks me when he's done talking. I tell my story to him. It's feels... Weird to tell this all to someone all this, especially when I just met them.
"Wow, that's..." he responds. The sentence isnt finished, but I know exactly what he means. I nod.
"Do you want to stay here? I ask after a while.We've been sitting here, just staring at the small lake in front of us. "I could use someone who has more experience." He looks at me. ''Yes, that would be nice. I usually wander around the forest and a bit of company would be nice. And it looks like you could use a little bit of help yourself, too."
