Some living things live in the darkness... They are the beast that take on human form and drink human blood and that's what they call vampires.. But in every vampires exist they are humans spend they whole lives with the task of hunting down vampires.. They are called the vampire hunters.
Yuki, Zero and Kaien was eating dinner.. And to be precise... Kaien did the cooking..
"This is my original creation.. Liver with fried veggies.. Stewed green vegetable with meat, minced fish and many others.." Kaien was smiling happily because it's rare for the two of them eat his cooking.. "How is it??". He continued.
"Well... This is the first food you make that is edible to eat.." Zero answered bluntly..
"Zero... You hurt your father's feelings.." Kaien started to anime cried.
"Headmaster... If I remember correctly... To what I presume.. I never thought of you being my dad..." Zero was irritated..
"Zero... Stop it.. Just finish your food.." Yuki stop him..
"Even you my daugther?? It's such a rare occasion for us to eat together.. The three of us.. And you eating my cooking... Ever since Yumika take over my responsibilty to feed you.. I worked so hard just to make this original creation just for you... You know... Mother is so sad!!" Kaien said with a depress tone.
"Headmaster... Even though you said it as your original creation this is good to be true.. Every day Yumika made this kind of food too.. But compare to her cooking. This is edible enough to eat without choking or spitting it out.. No offense.." Yuki said directly.
"Headmaster.. Didn't I tell you not to count me as your 'son' I don't remember having two dads." Zero added.
Kaien was even more depress.. But then he just look up because of the sudden silence.. He smile..
"Nevermind, at least you both eating my food.." Kaien sighed and smile while saying it. Then the two suddenly look at with a serious tone to the Headmaster.. "Anyway... Did anything... Happen to the both of you outside the Academy premises? Yuki's injury..." Kaien stop.. When Yuki remembered what happen.
Yuki POV
I suddenly stop eating when the headmaster asked about my injury.. And then I remember what happen.. What Ichijou-senpai said..
"Why we took care of that vampire? If you want to know.. Come to the Moon Dorm late at night.. It's my birthday party.. Don't you want to know the details right??" this is what Ichijou-senpai said before they leave..
"Can I tell the headmaster about this?? Or even to Yumika?? Zero didn't mention about what happened earlier to the headmaster and not even to Yumika.. Well it's not we want to keep it a secret to Yumika but..." I said in my head.
"These injuries are..." I was going to explain how I got the injury when Headmaster talked again..
"Ahh.. Right.. I almost forgot.. Zero... Here.. You have almost finished those you had right?" I look at the headmaster hand.. And so does Zero.. It was a blood tablet case.. Full of blood tablet that the vampire in the Academy drink to ease the thrist of blood. Zero look at it for a while and accept it..
"Zero.. Is that... A blood tablets??" I asked him worriedly.
"Yuki.. Don't be at a loss.. From now on this will be a daily thing.." Zero explain to me calmly.
"Ah..." Is the only word came out to my mouth.. But my mind was thinking about him.. "Zero.. You should be the one at loss.." I was silently thinking this when... The headmaster talked. My thoughts disappear because of his voice..
"Yuki.. my daughter.. Why are you wearing such expressions?? Even though this tablets are for restraining blood thrist.. It's actually that similar to eating meals.." The headmaster was happily explaining it to us... When Zero suddenly stand up and look at the headmaster intently.. "Calm down.. You should think positively... Zero Kiryu-kun.." The headmaster continue with a strain voice.. I sigh..
"Headmaster... You should've known better to say that... Because he knows all about Zero... About Zero, about the vampires... From now on.. I too also want to know.. I want to know more about them.. About Zero... I can't let Yumika know about this.. She will definitely will be against us for sure... She like them so much... So tonight.." I decided... Tonight I'll come to the Dorm.. To asked about it.. When I remember something..
"That's right... Yumika will bake some cake too... I'll definitely go.. But... Where is she??" I look at the headmaster and asked.
"Headmaster... Do you know where Yumika went??" I asked..
"Well.. She said.. She'll bake some cake for Takuma Ichijou's party.. Maybe she's still there.. Why??" The headmaster asked me curiously.
"Nothing... I was invited to that party.. So maybe I'll go.. Good thing she was still there.. I can bring her home with me after.." I stand up and went to my room to change into my uniform.. I place my prefect band to its place and grab artemis and place it in my thigh.. Hidden enough.. "Ok... All set..." I was going to jump on my window when Zero stop me.
"Don't tell me.. You're going to there dorm alone??" Zero was leaning in my front door wearing his uniform and his prefect band... "Don't forget... I'm invited too.. So I'm coming with you.." Zero continued.. I smile.. He was worried about me.. But my smile disappear when... Zero pull out his anti-vampire gun and point it in the wall.. I panic..
"Zero... Wait... You shouldn't be accompanying me to the Night Class Dorm with attack in mind?? Right.. You can't do that... Don't forget.. Yumika was there too... She will definitely hate you to death if you even think about it!!!" I yelled.. Stating the fact that Yumika was there..
"But.. I'm sure.. Not only the Night Class was invited to that party.. More vampires will be there.. Just for protection.." Zero explain.. Still checking his weapon..
"Zero... I'm grateful for your concern... But... Still you can't do that.. Yumika already patch up my wound.. And you even said that the scent was gone.. So no worries... Hide the Bloody Rose... We won't know about what happen if you'll point it to them when we get there.." I explain.. Looks like he understand me.. He put the bloody rose back inside on his uniform..
"Happy.. Let's go.. I'm worried about Yumika.." Zero jump out to my window and I followed..
We run to reach the Moon Dormitory in time.. And when we get there.. All the lights was open.. The Moon Dorm entrance was pack with aristocrat vampires to level c vampires.. With a blood drink with each hands..
Zero and me walk inside...
"I don't find Yumika here.. Looks like she was busy preparing the birthday cake.." I look around once more but no sign of her.. Zero was trying to calm himself.. I was going to say something to him.. When... Zero pull out Bloody Rose.. All of the vampires looking at us..
"Zero... Stop it..." I ordered.. But still he don't want to put away the gun..
"Here to welcome us... Vampires??" I look at Zero's side.. It's Aido-senpai.. But I don't have time for him.. I grab the Bloody Rose..
"Zero...." I called his name..
"You better hide it.. Mr. Prefect... Don't just put your gun on me.. This is our territory.. Don't push your luck.. If not for Ichijou.. I wouldn't come here.." Aido-senpai said.
Looks like the sudden call alarmed them both..
"Zero-niichan, Yuki-neechan.. You came..." Yumika was running towards us.. Wearing a chef uniform.. It looks cute on her..
"Yu-chan!!!" I saw Aido-senpai called her with a playful voice.. Then look back at Zero.. "Your lucky.. If Yu-chan's not here.. You'll be dead by now.. Look around you.. If not for Lord Kaname's ordering them not to hurt you a vampire hunter because of Yumika your be sure dead.." Aido-senpai said seriously.. Yumika hug Aido-senpai.. And Aido-senpai carry her.
"Hana-chan.. Are you coming to get them?" Yumika look at Aido-senpai and asked.
"Yeah... Come here.. Ichijou was waiting.." Aido-senpai's attitude change into a cheerful one.. Still carrying Yumika in his other arms.."
"Yuki-neechan... You need to taste my new cake.. It's so delicious.. Even Aka-chan said it was addiciting.." Yumika was happily saying it to me..
"Ahh... Look at those eyes... They are staring at us with killing intent... Looks like the earlier event triggered them to stay on guard.. But looks like Kaname-sama's order are stopping them to do so.. I started to be thankful Yumika was my sister..." I was thinking this while following Aido-senpai..
"We're here..." Aido-senpai stop walking.. I look up.. I saw a different ambiance.. Compare to the one earlier.. The atmosphere here was more like.. Royalty or something..... I look around.. There are a huge cake.. Looks like someone give him as a present.. Aido-senpai let Yumika go..
"Taku-nii.. Happy birthday..." Yumika hug him and give him a kiss..
"Thank you Yu-chan..." Ichijou-senpai was smiling happily like a kid..
"Ichijou-senpai... About..." I interfered..
"Come here... Aido.. Can you take Yu-chan with you??" It looks like.. They don't want Yumika heard about this.. Aido-senpai nodded..
"Yu-chan.. Let's go.. Ruka and the others prepare you some clothes for Ichijou's birthday party.. You promise Ichijou you'll dance with him right?? You can't dance with him with that clothes..." Aido said.. Yumika looked at her clothes and nodded.
"That's right.. Hana-chan.. Let's go... Taku-nii.. Wait for me for a little moment okay.." Yumika announced.. Ichijou-senpai just look at her and nodded.. Yumika drag Aido-senpai inside the dorm..
"Phew.. Close call.. Come here.. Kaname will explain it to you.." Ichijou-senpai gesture us the only table that was seperated with others.. Me and Zero was standing still when I heard Kaname-sama's voice..
"Yuki.. Come sit here.." I saw Kaname-sama tap the space in his side.. I oblige.. Leaving Zero alone.. I sat next to him..
"Kaname-sama... I was just going to asked you about...." Kaname-sama stop me by putting his forefinger to my lips.. I flushed.
"Let's talk about it later.. Let me see your wound.." Kaname-sama grab my wounded arm gently ans use his powers to heal it.. "There... All healed.. Your here too know what was that right?? I bet Zero Kiryu knew what kind of vampire is that.." Kaname-sama look at Zero and back to mine.
"Kaname... I'll explain it from here.." Ichijou-senpai interrupted.
"Go ahead.." Kaname-sama just close his eyes to agree.. I was still sitting a little further now from Kaname-sama. And then I heard Ichijou-senpai talked again.
"Well.. I guess.. That Yuki-chan still don't know about them.." I gently shake my head.
"No... Is he really a vampire??" I asked.
"Yes... He's belong to the same kind of vampire that attack Yumika.." Ichijou-senpai explain..
"What.. I don't know about that!!" I yelled.
"Yuki... It's the time you know I was one of them.." Zero calm me down.
"So does that mean that dangerous vampires was roaming the streets.. That's so uncommon?" I calm down and asked again. "Also.. Ichijou-senpai.. Specifically went there just to kill him... Right? What exactly was that vampire?" I continued.. When I heard Aido-senpai behind me.
"That was an ex-human vampire.. Very lowly.." I froze.. So that vampire was just like Zero..
"Aido!!!" I heard Ichijou-senpai yelled at him..
"Hanabusa.. Where's Yumika?? I thought you're with her?" Kain-senpai change the atmosphere by asking Yumika's whereabouts.
"Ah.. She's with Ruka and the other girls.. They doing a make over.. And they tossed me out.." Aido-senpai suddenly pout. But I asked anyway..
"What is exactly Aido-senpai talking about?" I asked.. Ichijou-senpai sighed and started to explain the vampire ranking.
"Yuki.. In vampire society.. Those at the top was called a "PUREBLOODS" and a gathering of vampires are called "NOBLES" even though everyone from the night class are the "nobles" class and above... To put it like a pyramid.. Ex-human vampires are even more lowly than the normal vampires.. They are four type of class in the vampire society.. The highest class.. The A class was those who posses a pureblood ever since they're born.. The second one was the b class which are the nobles.. And the third one was C class or the normal vampires.." Ichijou-senpai explain it to me about the vampire class.. "Truth is they were not dealt with throughly.. That vampire I killed belongs to E-class.. Something that does not even have a place in the pyramid... The E class vampire was the class of the ex-humam vampires.." Ichijou-senpai seriously look at me while explaining it.
"E-class..." I mumbled when Aido-senpai talked.
"To put it more correctly.. It's a short term for the "END CLASS" speaking of this Zero Kiryu.. You should know about this.. Too.. As a member of a vampire hunter family.. And you also know it right... "As a E class vampire.." I didn't herad the last part but.. I guess it's enough to be heard by Zero alone..
"Zero.... But???" I look at Zero when he suddenly spoke.
"Ex-human vampires.. Would eventually sink to the level of the E class.. Yuki... There will slowly erode, until they reach the 'end'... Their 'limit' or shattering." Zero added.
"That's right.. They will then have an uncontrollable craving for blood recklessly attacking humans.. Because of this.. Ex-human vampires have to be managed by nobles and above." Ichijou-senpai explain.
"Managed??" I repeated when Ichijou-senpai continued.
"But.. Occasionally there would be a mishap.. Sometimes an ex-human vampire gone mad and would escape from the nobles control.. And then charge to the human society.." Ichijou-senpai explain.. When a sudden voice interrupt us. I look at my side.. It's Kaname-sama..
"I heard today a report that there was an "E Class" vampire roaming outside.. I asked Ichijou and Shiki to hunt him down at my order.." So Kaname-sama was the one who ordered it..
"But.. We didn't except Yumika will come with us.. So Kaname decided to let Aido come with us to protect her while we hunt down the vampire.." Ichijou smile..
I think I know at least a few about that vampire.. When I saw Ruka-senpai together with Rima and Seiren-senpai. Everyone was in awed... Behind them was a girl wearing a pink sleeveless dress.. With matching pink high-heeled sandals.
Her hair was a little curled up to put some volume.. To lessen the mess wavy hair they put a ribbon at one side to make it stay the way they want it..
I was mesmerize by her beauty... I thought she was a guest.. Even the other vampire guests was mesmerize.. When... A familiar voice called my name.
"Yuki-neechan...." She suddenly called my name..
"It's Yumika!! She looks like a different person!!!! Is she really my sister?? She really looks like a goddess!!!" I was screaming in my head.
Suddenly.. A happy voice interrupt us..
"Yumi-chan.... You look beautiful.. Did you really dress up just for me?" Ichijou-senpai hug Yumika from behind.
"Taku-nii.. Your heavy!!" Yumika complaint.
"Sorry.. It's just..." Ichijou-senpai smile..
"Ichijou.. Don't push your luck.. We are the one who convince her to dress up.. It's not really for you..." Ruka-senpai explain..
"Ru-chan... Stop it.. It's Taku-niichan's party... Taku-nii.. I promise right?? That I'll dance with you.." Yumika smile and held her hand to Ichijou-senpai.. Ichijou-senpai just smile and accept her hand..
"Please.. Enjoy the rest of the party.." I saw Ichijou-senpai was being drag by Yumika on the space enough for them to dance.
"Well.. I guess... Zero let's go eat some of Yumika's dish.." I drag Zero at the buffet table.. I started to drool when I saw different kind of food.
"Yuki... Stop drooling..." Zero said and I suddenly look at him and pout.
We enjoy the rest of the party... We both sit at the empty table.. Near the dance floor.. I was looking at Yumika.. I chuckled... She was running away from the other guests.. Suddenly she hide behind Kain-senpai..
"Aka-chan... They all scaring me.." Is what I saw from the movement of her mouth.. Well I do want to go but.. I don't need too.... I continue eating my portion still waiting for the party to end.. I was glaring time to time to check on Zero.. Looks like he was behaving..
"That's Yumika for you...!!" I smile to myself while thinking this.. And then I ate the food on my spoon.. Enjoying myself..
