Jessica's POV
I got out my car and locked it before walking into school, I had my hands in my pockets - I saw Annie sat by the lockers, as always, but today she was talking to some guy, im pretty sure it was JC or something like that, I mean he's sort of attractive, hes tall and his curly hair was all messy on the top of his head. when she saw me she waved me over. so I walked closer, as I did I saw JC bite his lip and he had positioned himself so he was leaning against the lockers.
"hey Jess" Annie smiled
"hello" I smiled back, I opened my locker shoving a few things inside
"so urh, you know JC right?"
"yep, we have spoken a few times"
"oh right - yeah through Zach herron right?"
I nodded
"oh by the way Lucas is looking for you" he smiled, I thought for a while who the heck is Lucas? oh wait....
"Lucas James?"
JC nodded
"what does he want?" I asked and looked at Annie in a weird way
he shrugged "I think he said it was important or something"
"oh right - yeah okay, ill go lo-" the warning bell rang "on second thoughts" I laughed and so did they. then they stood up together, I was looking at them and saw that JC kept brushing his hand up against Annie's - and it wasn't an accident. anyway Annie whispered something in his ear making him laugh, he was looking at her in a type of way - like you could tell he was In love with her. anyway we were walking to class but I as walking behind the two of them - I felt like a right third wheel.
"Jess look, its Lucas" Annie said snapping me out of my thoughts, I looked up at her and followed where her hand was pointing - he was there talking to JC. then JC pointed at me, making Lucas send a small wave my way. I turned around and went to the water fountain to get some water and I thought Annie had followed me there
"Ann, what do you have next?" I asked, she didn't answer so I stopped drinking and looked to the side to see Lucas there, and Annie was no where near me. I jumped for some reason and he chuckled a bit. I rolled my eyes and started to head down the hallway to get to my lesson - I was wondering where Annie had gotten to and sighed
"so... Jessy" Lucas said catching up to me
"ugh dont call me that"
"oh, okay sorry - is Jess better?" he asked pulling my arm so i'd stop
"I guess yeah" I cleared my throat "what did you need?"
"oh right - well im having a party Friday night, and you should for sure come" he smiled at me. ive heard that his parties are the best, like amazing, but ive never ever been invited to one - why would he start now?
"why should I?" I asked
he shrugged "im just trynna get to know you"
"ah and you decide to do so by inviting me to a party where there will be - I dont know at least 100 people there... oh not to mention alcohol?" I asked laughing
"im guessing that a no then" he sighed
"well.. only if Annie, Hallie and Lola can come too"
"Sure thing" he smiled "well ill see you Friday night then" he winked, which made me laugh a bit as I watched him walk away. the closer I got to my class I found Annie and JC
"what did he want then?" she asked
"he invited you, Hallie, Lola and me to his party on Friday" I shrugged
"woah - wait really?" she gasped "you said yes right?"
I nodded
"girl... I love you" she hugged me tight making me loose my breath. Anyway we said goodbye to JC and went to the lesson.
After lesson..
I was on my way to lunch, by myself went Zach stepped infront of me, he looked so much better than yesterday
"what do you want?" I rolled my eyes and tried to walk past him
"ey dont be rude" he folded his arms
"Zach you never talk to me in school - well unless you cant find anyone else to talk to" I shrugged as he rolled his eyes
"we need to talk Jessica"
"about what?" I asked, he put his hand behind his neck - he was nervous...?
"you'd do anything for me right?" he asked
"depends what - lets see, selling drugs for you? no or like murdering someone? no - but basically other than that yeah"
he sighed "so - you know how Alexis dumped me infront of everyone yesterday?"
"obviously you were crying to me about it" he immediately put his hand over my mouth
"shhh - people have ears you know" I shut my eyes and bit right in the middle of his hand "ouch! jess!"
"there is literally no one here - chill out" I laughed "anyway im hungry so what did you want me to do?"
"I need you to be my fake girlfriend"
"what....?"
"I want you to be my fake girlfriend" Zach said now looking at me
I burst out into laughter "your kidding right?"
he nodded his head no
"hell no! - no im not getting myself into your boy problems"
"I'll do anything Jessica!"
"why do you even need me to do this?" I asked
"because, it'll make Alexis jealous . and you know it wont effect us because we are best friends, we are like brother and sister - right?" he said
I shrugged - I mean its true
"please, jess"
"fine - fine but only for a week okay?"
"oh my god thanks - thank you!" he hugged me "i'll explain you the rules to you later on" he began to walk away, I grabbed his wrist
"what rules?"i asked
"you'll find out later" he said and then walked to his next lesson...
lunchtime
I sat at our normal table in the cafeteria and set my lunch box on it.
"hey J" Lola said smiling as she sat down
"hi" I returned the smile, I began to talk to her as someone sat down next to me, I was expecting to see Annie but no, it was Zach
"oh hey" I said
"you ready to you know..?" he asked, I remembered he was going to tell me about the 'rules'
"oh sure, yeah" I stood up "sorry Lo, ill be back in a sec though"
"yeah its fine" she began to eat her sandwich as Zach dragged me to a table right at the end of the Cafeteria, he sat me down across from him and began to speak
"so, these are the rules" he got about the notes app on his phone
"hold up, dont i get to make some rules too?" I asked crossing my arms
"maybe you do, maybe you dont" he smirked at me "anyway, my rules.. we are going to act like a normal couple - so like hold hands, hug, text, laugh and joke with eachother, kiss, you know the norm" he read out
"only around Alexis right?" I asked picking out a biscuit from my lunch box
"no, it has to be all the time"
"and you think this is a good idea?" I asked
he shrugged "maybe, but maybe not - ugh I dont know we are just going to have to test it out alright?"
I sighed loudly "okay, I'm only going to do it under one condition" I said, he looked at me with his eyebrows raised
"Lola, Hallie and Annie get to know that its fake"
"fine - just make sure they dont tell anyone"
I nodded
"oh and - I get to brake up with you in the end" I sent him a little smile
"nah I should end it with you - so you know, people realise im actually over you"
"what if you make me cry" my face dropping
he chucked "I wo-"
"yes you will - ive seen you do It to other girls"
"oh shut it" he laughed and moved over to sit next to me, he broke my biscuit and ate the part he broke off. I gave him the rest of the bar and he moved up closer to me
"are you okay... you dont share food" he said
I giggled "I got to share with my boyfriend right"
he chucked and thought about something for a second "girlfriend... that is so weird - like I dont do girlfriends or like dates" he said
"yeah ive kinda noticed" I pulled out my sandwich and I took a bite, as I did he slipped his hand down onto my butt making me jump. then he took a bite out of my sandwich, I looked at him in shock
"that's not yours" I said and pulled the sandwich out of his mouth.
he swallowed the food "right we should go tell everyone we are together"
"no" I said
"oh right - so you want to stay here with me and make out?"
I looked and him and stood up fast "no thanks, bye" I laughed. he put his hand on my waist and stood to face me, he kissed my cheek before letting me walk back to my friends. when I got to the table Annie's Jaw was practically touching the floor
"whats wrong with her?" I asked Lola as I sat, she said nothing
"why the fuck did Zach just kiss you?" annie finally said
I sighed "come here" I patted the seat next to me
"Zach and I are going to fake date so he can make Alexis jealous" I whispered
"your not serious?"
I nodded
"is this even a good idea?" she asked
"probably not " I laughed a bit "its not a big deal though - I mean"
"oh jess its a huge deal! your going to get hurt"
"no I wont" I shrugged
"it takes what? a day to fall in love with Zach Herron, and then when he brakes up with you for another slut - that shit is going to hurt you, big time"
"ey it wont - ive been with Zach since I moved here, and I havent fallen for him"
"but have you been kissing him - holding his hand?"
"no... but we've been hugging"
she rolled her eyes dramatically "I just dont want you to get hurt - especially by him"
"I wont - i'll be okay Ann"
she sighed and began to eat her lunch.
end of the day..
Im so ready to go home now, I just want a nap.
I was putting old books in my locker as I saw Zach come over to me
"hey Babe " he smiled, he got closer and whispered in my ear "alexis is over there" I nodded and finished putting the books in my locker, then I shut it. Zach grabbed my hand and intertwined it with his we began to walk down the hall
"Zach she isn't even looking" I said, he looked around at her and sighed. but seconds later he was face first on the floor. I couldn't help but laugh, I covered my mouth trying to stop
"zachy" I said and knelt down next to him, still laughing "you okay?" I asked and helped him up, I started to laugh even more when I saw his face
"oh you think this is funny do you?" he asked with a huge cheesy grin on his face, I laughed even harder - if that was possible - he smiled at me and grabed my hand again as th both of us stood up. in the corner of my eye I could see Alexis staring at us but when I looked over she snapped back to look at her friends and then they walked out the doors
"come on" Zach said and walked me outside, I saw Alexis again but she was now by herself leaning against a wall
"you need a ride home?" he asked I nodded no
"oh okay" he smiled "is she looking?" he asked, I was facing her so I checked and nodded
"good..." he placed his hand under my chin and pressed his lips onto mine. FUCK hes good. I pulled away and he frowned causing me to giggle
"that was too quick" he said "let me pull away next time, okay?"
"no Zach.. you are not going to be In control"
he chuckled "yep, I am" he quickly pecked my lips. I felt tones of people staring at us now, there were so many girls whispering to each other, I got kinda nervous. Zach could tell so he put his hand under my chin again making me look into his eyes
"dont worry about them okay?" he had a hint of sympathy in his eyes "ignore what they say"
"its hard when they are staring right at you" I laughed
"it'll get easier" he smiled "now are you sure you dont want a ride?"
"I have my car" I said, he nodded and pecked my lips again
"i'll see you later" he said going to his car "text me, okay Babe?" he shouted at me, halfway across the car park from me, I nodded at him and got into my car....
