Matthew and Spencer had been downstairs when Klaus entered the home shouting out for Hope. Dropping the baked good on the table Matthew had bought, they ran upstairs just in time to hear Klaus ask Hope, "What have you done with your mother?"
Matthew and Spencer were leaning against the door being able to see their dad stand across from Hope as she sat on the couch looking up at him.
"Do you have any idea what you've done?" Klaus asks his daughter as the only thing separating them was a coffee table
"I knew it would take something big to bring you home" Hope simply explains
"So you had your little hybrid friend attack your mother and your aunt?" Klaus asks finally sharing with the whole room what Hope had done and it was nothing close to what Spencer thought she was in trouble for
"You're so dead" Matthew mumbles knowing Hope would definitely get in trouble, while Spencer worriedly asks "You're the reason moms missing?"
"Henry just did the heavy lifting. And "attack" is a really strong word. Mom's fine. Aunt Hayley is fine," Hope says turning to look at her brother, specifically Spencer knowing he was in the dark "In a really nice coffin, sleeping. I cloaked them in a sleeping spell that I wrote myself"
"Oh, well, in that case, I've never been prouder" Klaus replies just wanting to know where the cousins had been kept hidden, "Where are they?"
"You're just gonna go disappear again if I tell you," Hope says showing that she wasn't close to sharing secrets
"Hope, you are in danger when we're in proximity. I know you feel that" Klaus says just as some pink flowers on the coffee table quickly lose life and their color. Instead of the flowers just dying something new came from them being close, a snake started to slither out of the vase, "The dark magic inside us manifests itself in ugly ways. We could be putting others in danger, too. The whole city"
"I don't care!" Hope shouts standing up on her feet
"This is not a debate, Hope!" Klaus shouts back loud enough for anyone in the house to hear.
"The little girl I knew would never have dreamed up a scheme like this." Klaus says making Hope roll her eyes trying to mask her sadness with anger
"Well, sorry to disappoint you," Hope says crossing her arms looking at her dads back as he had his back to her, "But that little girl hadn't read your memoirs"
At those words Klaus turns around to face his daughter. Hope had been the first to find his memoirs, one in specific but after reading it she showed it to her brothers. Having her father's attention Hope continues speaking, "You compelled Cami O'Connell to write your story. About a guy who used to put his family members in coffins and use them as leverage"
"So, you've studied my old tricks" Klaus says with a smile walking towards Hope with a smile only for everyone to hear the distorted whispers from Hope and Klaus' standing in front of each other, "Did you learn this one?"
Klaus extends his hands out for place his hands on Hope's head allowing him to see where she had hidden the hybrid cousins. Hope had stored her mom and aunt in coffins in St. Anne's attic.
"Get out of my head!" Hope shouts once realizing what her father was doing
"You could die, Hope. Just by standing here, I could be destroying you. I'll ask your mother to take it easy on you. Okay? Good-bye, Hope" Klaus says ready to walk out through the doors which made twins step outside so their dad can pass by. With the doorway cleared Hope uses her telekinesis to shut the doors, preventing her dad from walking away from her.
Klaus turns around to look at Hope who had her hand raised from using magic, "I know some tricks, too"
Klaus knew he needed to leave his daughter's side before the effects of being in close proximity start to affect her physically rather than just their surroundings.
"You called, you wrote letters, then you stopped-- why?" Hope asks walking down the staircase after her father who was looking for another way out
"You know why," Klaus says as he attempts to leave through another closed door but it didn't budge as Hope had placed a barrier around the whole room
"I didn't think I had to knock before entering an astral plane. Sorry I interrupted your murder orgy" Hope says bring up the last time she had seen her dad was not a sight to see at such a young age, especially for it to never be explained. Since they were only standing a few feet away from each other the distorted whispers only kept following them
Klaus turns around to face his daughter who was expecting an explanation and so after a few seconds he responds, "You came to me that night because cards and letters weren't enough. I stopped them for your own good"
"You don't know what's good for me," Hope responds the explanation not being enough "You know, you stir up these stories about a crazy original dropping bodies, and people talk at school, and I have to be quiet little Hope Marshall, when I am so mad, I want to scream"
"Well, welcome to the bloody party!" Klaus shouts taking Hope by surprise
Outside of the closed room Spencer and Matthew were walking down the staircase wondering if Hope had let their dad out of the house. When they hear his voice shouting, the conclude that Hope trapped him
Spencer had been the one walking down the staircase in front of Matthew, but when his eyes catch a certain red, white, and black striped slithering animal he turns around, pushes Matthew out of the way, and runs back up the stairs.
"Fuu-" Matthew was ready to curse only to see the stripped snakes in the water fountain. Holding on to the railing from having been pushed out of the way Matthew turns to see his brother and lies, "They aren't poisonous"
Spencer looks away from the slithering snakes that stayed in the water fountain and looks down at his brother, "Who died and made you the king of lies"
"Oh, come on I can explain that" Matthew responds knowing his twin was talking about the secret he had been sitting on for the last couple hours and knowing that talking about it would distract him from the snakes
"I've been gone for less than a year and you get mom and my best friend to be kidnapped. You have my attention" Spencer says walking down the steps to where his hazel-eyed brother stood
"I-I okay, so I can't—you know explain that... but she called the mom card" Matthew says making Spencer scoff, the siblings had code words for various situations some hypothetical and other very real, "You know better than anyone when someone calls the mom card we don't share the secret with anyone. The one holding the secret has to tell the other sibling"
"Os voy a machacar" Spencer threateningly says which translated to 'I'm going to crush you'
Not knowing what the words translated to, Matthew playfully hits his brothers arm while saying, "Back at you"

Inside the spell barrier spelled room Hope had moved to sit on the couch arm, her feet on the cushions facing her father who stood in front of the ironed gates.
"I was protecting you when I left. The horror in your eyes that night when you saw me is... burned into my memory" Klaus says to explain his reason, but it still wasn't enough for Hope
"I was nine. And I saw this scary monster who looked like my dad... who taught me how to mix paint... who called me a princess. I didn't know which version of you was real. And I waited for you to explain it... Or apologize," Hope says her voice wavering as she tried to hold it together but as she stood to face her father a tear rolls down her cheek, "Or tell me that you loved me. I waited for you for years. But you didn't come"
Hope holds back in saying how she heard stories from Spencer and Matthew on what is was like growing up with him. She held back how she knew she was the reason her mom and dad split.
"In my experience, fathers cause pain. Whether by their presence or their absence, there's a certain type of ruin that only a father can... can leave behind. And you... you were such a sweet little girl. Perhaps I was always bound to leave you broken" Klaus says not being able to look Hope in the eyes. At the confession, Hope look at him with tears in her eyes and furrowed eyebrows
"You-you really think I'm broken?" Hope asks making Klaus look up at his daughter and notices the tears, "Maybe you're right. Maybe that little girl you miss so much would be better off if she'd never loved you at all"
At her words, Klaus stays silent making Hope raise her hand to releases the boundary spell. With the doors opening behind him Klaus sighs letting his head fall and with a wavering voice Hope says, "You can go now"
Hope looks away from her dad, but it was just then that Klaus looks up from the ground, and with a tear rolling down his cheek he looks at his daughter, "Hope, please..."
The two were able to hear snakes rattling and hissing through the distorted whispers. Klaus turns around to see the courtyard water fountain had snakes not just in it but slithering down the concrete floor. With one last looks at his daughter Klaus vamp speeds away from her
The twins see their dad vamp speed away from the house making them call out for their sister. Hope wipes away her tears and walks out into the courtyard looking up at one of the staircases not being bothered by the snakes around her.
"You're in charge," Spencer says once he sees his sister's calm demeanor around the snakes
It was no secret that Spencer had a problem with reptiles, one of them being snakes. Hope looks at her blonde brother saying, "I'm not killing the snakes for you"
"I never said kill, just... get rid," Spencer says as he looks down at his sister, his hands on the staircase railing.
Matthew places a hand on Spencer's shoulder and with a smile says, "Don't soil yourself, Spence, we got this"
Spencer shakes her head ready to say something, but Hope beat him to it, "Spence just go choose the movie for tonight, Matt and I will take care of the snakes"
The siblings listen to their sister making them split ways in preparation for their movie night. The siblings had various traditions set up by their mom over the years. Movie night started out when they were young, and Odette or Hayley had to go away and wasn't back home until the next day. That day in being back together the family would set up a movie night and ate popcorn as well as any other food they wanted. While growing up the tradition changed for whenever the kids would return back home and were well-rested movie night would be set.

Down in the tunnels Marcel was using the bricks and cement to burry Henry alive as punishment. Henry stood against a brick wall with new concreted bricks surrounding him up to his shoulders, at the idea of almost being covered Henry couldn't help but gasp and groan loudly
"Is it always like this?" Henry asks Marcel making the vampire stop piling concrete on the brick a, "The noise? The hunger?"
"Be quiet. Try to be still for the first few weeks. You'll desiccate faster. It'll be easier that way," Marcel says while being able to sense someone walking towards them making him set down the cement-filled cup and pointing trowel, "Not the best time for a visit, but I'll take what I can get"
Marcel turns to look at Hope who walked towards him with a smile, "You busted me. Jerk."
They share a hug only to end when Hope notices Henry panting along with the chains holding him down clinking.
Hope walks away from Marcel to stand in front of the newbie hybrid, "I'm so sorry, Henry. I never meant for any of this to happen. You have to do what I say, remember? Okay, so, you're going to be calm now. When you get out, I'll be here, and we'll be friends. If you get scared, you'll feel peace if you just close your eyes and sing"
At Hope's words Henry calmed down, he no longer was panting or shaking. Marcel couldn't help but admire the girl standing before him. She was no longer the little girl he once told to close her eyes and sing when they were last down in the tunnels
With Henry being buried in the Garden Marcel walks Hope back upstairs and inside the Mikaelson compound. Walking through the compound threshold Marcel looks over at Hope and says, "That was really nice, what you did for Henry"
"Great. I'll give myself a point"
At Hope's response, Marcel was confused making him ask, "What?"
"It's this weird thing I did when I was little," Hope says as they stop walking and she turns to face Marcel, "I-I get a point if I do something nice, follow rules. If I, uh, have a bad thought, or... lose my temper, then I lose a point"
"Oh, honey, you can't put that kind of pressure on yourself," Marcel says looking down at Hope with a supportive smile
"My family sacrificed everything to save me," Hope says in a whisper so her voice wouldn't waiver but that didn't stop her eyes from getting watery, "I'm supposed to be worth it. I mean, I'm supposed to be better, right? My dad thinks... that I'm broken. Um... I don't think that um... I don't think that he loves me anymore"
"Hey. He may not have the words to tell you, but no matter what, your dad will love the very worst of you until the oceans are dust. You are worth every sacrifice. And..." Marcel says raising a hand to touch Hope's chin with his thumb making her laugh, "you are good. Period. Show me, anybody who says otherwise, I'll eat 'em"
Marcel then pulls Hope into a hug taking her by surprise, "Oh, uh, I'm-I'm okay. You-you don't..."
"No, this hug isn't for you. It's for me. I kind of needed it" Marcel says in a whisper making Hope hug him back by wrapping her arms around his waist

Klaus had gotten Freya to join him in finding Odette and Hayley. The two siblings walk down the attic hallway of St. Anne's Church while Klaus says, "I may need your help waking her. Hope was boasting about a cloaking spell, a sleeping spell"
Klaus opens the door and in the dark, he shouts, "Odette?"
Freya flips the light switch making the room be lit, allowing them to see the bloody mess. They only found one coffin, in and around the coffin there was only blood along with various broken items. At the amounts of blood, the siblings stood still and Freya mumbles, "Oh, my God"
Amongst the amount of blood and trashed room, Klaus was able to see a familiar necklace on the coffin. Klaus picked up the clasp broken, blood-stained necklace and he traces with his thumb the 'M' letter.
Klaus knew he needed to share the information with his children but he didn't first he had to make plans so they can be safe. Klaus had interrupted their movie night being held in Hope's room. The teens notice their dad enter the room making them place down whatever food they held and stand up, Hope keeping her distance from her dad.
"Kids, we went to the church to get your mother and Hayley. They weren't there" Klaus informs the siblings not wanting to share with them the gory details. The teens all start to worry knowing the news means their mom and aunt were truly missing this time.
"What? No. I protected them" Hope says takes a step towards her dad as her mind started to think of what could have gone wrong, of what she did wrong, "I wrote the perfect cloaking spell, I kept her safe. I... I don't understand. The-the coffins were just empty?"
"Hayley's coffin was destroyed, and it was the only one in the room," Klaus says in a whisper before sharing with them everything, "Whatever happened to Hayley didn't happen without a fight and as for your mother there was no coffin."
At the news the teens start to react differently; Spencer started to trace the outline of his necklace under his shirt, Matthew's hands started to shake making him cross his arms to hide his shaking hands, and Hope started to look at her brothers who stood on either side of her making her start to hyperventilate. Noticing his daughters reaction Klaus walks towards her
"Look, I know it wasn't your intention for someone to get hurt. I know you did this because I left you with no choice. Sweetheart, look at me" Klaus says as he places his hands on Hope's shoulders making her stop and look at him trying to ignore the whispers surrounding them, "This... this is my fault. I'm gonna fix it. I've already spoken to Alaric. The three of you will go back to Mystic Falls tonight. I need to know you're safe"
Hope stops hyperventilating and starts to cough making Klaus ask, "What is it?"
The coughing got worse making her fall to her knees, the three Mikaelson's kneel down to where Hope had fallen still coughing, and ask, "Hope?"
In the midst of Hope coughing, she starts to gasp for air, it was then that everyone saw the slithering creator make its way out of Hope's mouth. Spencer couldn't help but gag while stepping away from his sister, disgusted in seeing a snake come out of Hope's mouth.
Matthew trying to keep his composure looks at his dad saying, "Go, go. Dad, you have to get out!"
"I will find them. I'll find your mother" Klaus says looking at his daughter who was silently crying, "And I swear I'll return her to you. I love you"
Klaus vamp speeds away making Matthew finally hear his brother gaging as if he was about to throw up. Matthew covers his mouth and looks past his crying sister, "Don't you dare"
As the words were leaving Matthew's lips, Spencer hunched over and threw up on the floor making Matthew run towards the closest bathroom and throw up but didn't make it in time. While Spencer had a problem with snakes, Matthew had a problem with throw up. Specifically, people throwing up as it always made him throw up, it's one of the reasons he never ate oatmeal.
Hope picked herself up from the floor, wiped away her tears, and went to take care of her brothers. First, she got rid of the snake and then made sure her puking brothers were good. She got them to clean up their mess while she cleaned up the food in her room. Then with everything clean she made plans for them to have a ride to get back to the Salvatore school.
The Mikaelson siblings each carried a bag containing their belongings as they walked out of their home, Hope leading the way. Hope had asked Roman to drive them and when she sees him standing by a light blue car she says, "Hey, thanks for the ride back to school"
"Oh, right thanks," Matthew says noticing his sister's side glance, but the brother doesn't stop there as Hope had told them about Roman, "You know for following my sister to our home and staying until you were the only one able to drive us back to school"
"Oh. Sure," Roman awkwardly says not knowing how to respond to the Mikaelson boy but then he notices Hope's gloomy demeanor "Hey... is everything okay, Marshall?"
"My name's not Marshall" Hope quickly says not being able to look at the vampire standing in front of her
"Right" Roman replies making Hope look up at him worried her real last name was going to cause problems with them, "Hope"
At her name Hope couldn't help but smile, their moment was ruined by a woman screaming. It was followed by a man shouting, "Someone get some help"
At the commotion, the four supernatural beings make their way towards the forming crowd. Everyone was looking up at the house where a body hung and the crowd couldn't help but shout, "Somebody help him!" and "Someone call 911"
Hope was the first to make it past the crowd and when she looks up she sees the hanging body from the second-floor house railing.
"Oh, my God" Hope says knowing that the body handing was Henry's. He had been attacked and removed from the Garden, only to have his heart ripped out of his chest. "Henry"
Hope covers her mouth in shock just as the more supernatural being arrive at the scene. Marcel and Josh had run towards the crowd and were able to see the teen boy they thought they had helped. Lisina was one of the other supernatural beings that had arrived at the scene, she was the one in most pain. Henry had been left in her guardianship, she loved him like a son and now, now he hung dead for the whole French Quarter to see.
