Aelia's pov
-
And now I was stuck in an hour car ride with the very gay adults and my parents. They've been going on and on about condom safety. Why? I really had no idea.
"Are you prepared for your interview with Max?" Mia asked
"I've always been prepared, it's the number one basic training I was placed through. I was trained how to hide my emotions and my anger"
"Hey!" Justin yelled from the front seat, I chuckled at him
"Sorry Justin"
"No problem babe" he smiled and returned to driving
"So, I guess you're pretty happy with Justin huh?" Mia asked
"It's... Something alright" I chuckled
The worse part of this arrangement was not being able to actually tell my friends and family about what happens behind the scenes of our relationship.
"But are you happy?" Zack chimed in, I glanced at this Hispanic boy and sighed
"My only focus is on my music, I really do like Justin but it's just a business agreement" I whispered, my eyes glanced at the man in the rear view mirror and he winked
"Well, I hope it is" I muttered
"I'm glad to see that you're happy and in a sound state of mind" Mia said
Mia was actually of the persons that stuck to me like glue everyday until she left to collage, God knows how much of a mess I was when Luna left.
"So how was college?" I asked the twins
"Party, alcohol and tests" Zack groaned
"College is actually really fun, all of my professors are cool and flexible when it comes to assignments. I didn't party, I stayed in my dorm most of the days and studied" Mia chuckled
"While I woke up on someone's couch almost everyday" Zack laughed
"I don't know why you're proud to say that" Mia glared at the boy
"Because in the heat of it, I still managed to pass every single one of my courses and have fun" He snapped back
"So you didn't have any sip of alcohol for five years?" I chuckled
"Nope, and I'm proud" Mia smiled sweetly
"Lame ass" Zack groaned
"Leave me baby alone" I pouted and leaned my head against Mia's shoulder
"Speaking of Babies. I heard that Dani actually got out the academy yesterday" Zack said
"She did?" I asked
"And... She didn't call?" Mia mumbled, I physically felt my heart sink into my chest
"Awww no, I'm sure she'll call. Maybe she was just exhausted" I said
"Yeah. Maybe" she mumbled
"We're here!" Justin announced, I glanced around and noticed we were in the driveway of the radio station
"Ugh they're surrounding us" I groaned
Shadows hovered over the car glass, bright continuous flashes came from all over. I never understood why they tried so hard to take a photo of me. Were they hoping to catch me doing something illegal and sell it to the highest bidding drama channel?
The car door was opened and Roland stood outside, his wide muscular arms held out for me to hold. I took them in mine and allowed him to pull me out the car, his hand shielded over my body as he rushed me past the flashes of the cameras.
The next thing I knew, I was in the studio. My eyes trailed over the foam on the walls that were used to block out sound.
"Aelia Green, it's so nice to finally meet you. Come with me" Max smiled as he approached us. The gay's and my parents trailed behind me as I followed the brown haired man
He pushed open a glass door and led me to a soft chair. My studio slightly reminded me of my music studio back home. Max brought the mic closer to my face as he headed back over to his seat.
"Nervous?" he asked
"Of course not" I smiled sweetly
"Don't worry, I won't ask questions you're uncomfortable with, unless there's something you're hiding from your fans?" Max questioned
"My personal life is private so I'm sure my fans would respect my boundaries" I assured
"Not all fans care about boundaries, everyone cares about drama Aelia. We all have skeletons in our closet" he said
"Sometimes we do" I said
"You're intriging Aelia Green, here's what I'll do. I'll ask the basic questions since this is our first time meeting. But I kid you not, the next time I won't go easy on you. I always find out what secrets the sweetest of souls hide" he said
"Is that a threat Max?" I questioned
"Hey, back off her" A voice said, I glanced in the direction of Justin who was glaring at the radio announcer
"Oh, Justin right? Didn't I take you to court?" Max laughed
"You can tell me whatever you want. Just lay off my girlfriend, she's nothing but sweet" Justin said. A smile stretched across my lips
"Thank you"
"Always babe" he smiled and sat back down.
Damn, I feel really shitty for the conversation in the car now.
Honestly, Justin is really sweet. Yes there's always been an attractive between us. I wouldn't allow him to sleep in my bed if I didn't actually feel something for the man. Literally.
Maybe I should allow myself to give it my all. For the past few days, he's really been growing on me, his smile seemed to be contagious and I found myself melting at his words. On the plus side, he's really fun. We understood each other and he's so respectful of my boundaries.
So yeah, I really should allow myself to fully commit to this relationship.
"We're on the air in 5.4.3.2.1" A producer announced. My hands pulled the headphones over my head as I adjusted the mic
"And we're back on air with the one and only Aelia Green" Max announced
"Hey everyone" I squealed
"Aelia Green, we heard that there's an album coming soon, is this true?" He asked.
Where the hell did he get that information? Yes I was coming out with an album, it's been in the works for a few years but how would he know what? Either way, I was thankful for my training.
I contained my dead facial expression so he wouldn't get suspicious before answering
"I'm pretty sure I can't say anything" I said, my eyes glanced to Jeff who nodded in response
"So tell me, how does a girl -that was the captain of the cheer team at Green Academy and have a Principal father who won the Congress election- become one of the most famous pop and alternative pop singer?" he asked
"Well I've always enjoyed singing as a child but only God knows what happened on stage when I was six" I chuckled
"I remember.... Going on a date once" I paused, the memories of her flooded back in
"They made me feel confident in myself, so that night I sang. I sang my heart out until I realized I actually fell in love with them. That person constantly pushed me to sing, they were the reason I fell in love with singing" I mumbled
"Wow, that sounded like a passionate relationship. Whatever happened?" Max asked. I glared at the man that smirked but I held my composure
"Unfortunately we didn't work out, but that's okay. I've moved and have met a really amazing person"
"ah yes, Justin Singh. You must be really proud of his movie coming out soon" Max said
"I'm really proud of him, he deserves so much" I smiled
"So how have you been Aelia?"
"I've been more than happy, spending alot of time writing new music"
"Ah yes, are you still signed to Lauren Jauregui's company?" the man asked
"Lauren has been nothing but sweet to me since the day we've met. I'll always be thankful for the opportunity she's given me" I said
"Well I'm sure all of your thirty million fans are glad to hear you're doing well and being happy. So how's your relationship with Justin?"
"We're actually doing really well, he's such a sweetheart. Nothing beats waking up to his face every morning" I said
"Oooo you heard it hear folks, is that wedding bells I hear?" the man asked, I laughed softly. Oh hunny, if only you knew.
"I... I can't say anything, stay tuned" I teased
Jeff held his thumbs up from the across the room, ensuring that I did a good job. I even noticed Justin was grinning widely but I furrowed my brows when Zack and Mia glared at him
"So I heard you'll be down at the new Café being opened near the Green Academy high school" The man said
"Yes, it'll be fun. If you're nearby, you should come out and hang with us. I'll be singing one of my favorite songs from the album, it's one of the songs I really hold close to my heart. It's special to me, so I hope everyone will see that tonight" I said
There was a specific song on the album that I had a little trouble with. No matter what, I always seemed to cry when I play it.
"That's it folks, Aelia Green. I hope everyone shows up to the café tonight, they're opening late to host their ceremony, be sure to head out to 186 lakewell wood street to catch a glimpse of our talented Aelia Green tonight"
"Thank you so much Max, you've been nothing but sweet" I lied, I saw the man smirk across the table from me
"Time to say goodbye everyone, I'm Max Della and you're listening to California Wave. Stay tuned after the break" He said.
"And we're off" A producer announced
"Well well, that went better than I expected"
