Y/N's POV
"Is there anyway I can stop you from doing this?", I pout while looking at my boyfriend of six months. He wants to be indestructible like Ray and the only way to do that is to get hit by the densitizer.
"Babe trust me on this, please", Henry begged as he cupped my face run his thumbs against my cheek bones. "I'm just worried", I whispered. "Schwoz said it might work without any side effects", he replied and we looked at Schwoz who gave us a thumbs up. I then turned my attention to Charlotte, "Do you have a say in this?"
"I don't know, man. It won't hurt to try", she shrugged. I groaned and wrapped my arms around Henry's torso. "Fine. Do it", I whispered. Henry kissed my head before giving me a peck on the lips and grabbed a skate board. I stood beside Charlotte as Henry did what Ray did when he was young, including saying "daddy daddy, whoa!"
After that, we turned the machine on for a few seconds. Henry is screaming in pain which made me worry.
"Ok stop, that's enough", I told Schwoz who immediately turned it off and Henry stumbled forward. I wrapped my arm around him and helped him regain his balance.
"You ok babe?", I asked as Schwoz and Charlotte. "Yeah... I think so", Henry replied, "I can feel a burning sensation in my throat tho"
"Are there any side effects?", Charlotte asked. "I-I don't think so", Henry lifts his shirt but we didn't see a face in his belly.
"Are you indestructible?", I asked. Schwoz slammed a bat on his head. "Ow!!", Henry winced.
"Did it hurt?", Schwoz asked. "Yeah, you hit me over the head with a bat and-- It only hurt for a second!", Henry beamed.
I grabbed his head, "No marks no bumps", I said after checking his head. "And no side effects?", Schwoz asked.
Henry checked his ears for arms and Charlotte lift his shirt. "No side effects", Henry confirmed.
I sighed and leaped in Henry's arms. We cheered and hi fived each other. Schwoz suggested that we tell Ray. Henry then said that we should wait until tomorrow.
Charlotte and Schwoz did tests on Henry by abusing him while I stood by the side. I refuse to hurt Henry even though we're 100% sure he's indestructible.
It was around seven when we went home. Henry walked me home.
"Hey. Are you ok?", he asked. "Yeah", I answered. "Baby", Henry whined as he took my hands and we stopped walking. "You don't have to worry about me, ok? There's no side effects and I'm fine", he assured me.
"I know...", I sighed. Henry pulled me in his embrace and kissed my temple before we continued walking home. My house is a block away from Henry's so he insist on walking me home everyday.
"Goodnight", I smiled. "Good night", he replied. I kissed his cheek and watched as he left my porch before I walked inside my house.
*The next day*
My parents left early for work and I'm all alone at home. I was eating cereal and scrolling through my phone when Henry suddenly called me.
"Hey Hen!"
"Princess... Can you come over to my house today?"
"I come over to your house everyday, hon. What makes you think I'm not coming over today"
"Like right now. I want you here right now"
"Why?"
"Remember how I said there's no side effects?"
"Yeah? Wait do you have eyes on your butt now?"
"What? No! Wait, yeah no!"
"Then what's the problem?"
"Just come over, ok? Bye I love you"
I was about to say something when he suddenly ended the call. I finished eating my breakfast before cleaning my bowl. I took a shower and wore a black shirt, blue denim shorts, black heeled boots and tied a flannel around my waist. I shoved my phone and wallet in my pocket before locking my house and left to go to Henry's.
By the time I reached the porch, I saw Charlotte tickling Henry's foot. "Am I missing something?", I asked. Before any of them could reply, Henry laughed and fire came out of his mouth. Charlotte and I ducked to avoid the fire from my boyfriend's mouth.
"The heck Henry?!?", I shrieked and looked at the flower which Henry burnt. "Was the a side effect?", Charlotte questioned. Henry nods his head.
"Yes! Fire comes out of my mouth every time I laugh", Henry panicked, "And don't say I told you so"
"I told you so. I told you so. I told you so", I repeated. "She told you so", Charlotte added.
Henry groaned and his watch suddenly beeped. "It's Ray! You two better hide", he says before pushing Char and I down to hide behind a plant.
Henry answered the call and saw Ray in hologram form. "Henry! You gotta get to work, I got something cool to show ya", he said.
"Yeah I'm on my way to work actually", Henry nervously laughed.
"By the way... Why are Y/N and Charlotte hiding behind a flower pot?", he questioned. Henry laughs before ending the call.
Charlotte and I stood up. "Let's go", I said and dragged Henry behind me as we ran to Junk-N-Stuff.
We entered the store and saw Ray standing by a huge cannon. "Hey Ray", we greeted.
He raises his eyebrow at us. "That's all you gotta say? Look at my cannon! Isn't she beautiful?"
"Hey cannon", we all sarcastically greeted the cannon before I pushed Henry towards Ray. "Oh hey, Ray. Listen, man I gotta tell you something"
"Hmm 'kay. Do me a favour and flip the sign. Let's talk in the man cave", Ray said. Henry walked to the door as I walked around the store as Charlotte and Ray chatted. I suddenly heard a loud crash, Ray, Charlotte and I were suddenly thrown to the ground and saw a cannon ball on Henry's stomach.
"Kid!!", Ray panicked as he jumped over the cannon and approached Henry. "Stupid cannon, you killed my friend!", Ray shouted as he threw the ball near Charlotte. Charlotte jumped because of the impact.
Ray was crying while Charlotte and I stood behind him with our arms crossed. I would've cried if I didn't know Henry's indestructible.
Henry got up which shocked Ray. "You're alive? How?", he asked in shock. "Cause I'm fine", Henry replied. "Wait, did you-", Ray grabbed a drill and jammed it towards Henry's stomach. Henry winced as Ray lifted his shirt and didn't see a wound.
"You're indestructible", Ray mumbled. "Surprise", us three teens said with slight sarcasm.
While Henry cleaned himself up, Schwoz, Ray, Charlotte and I are eating pizza. Schwoz strapped Henry on a chair so that we can see what's wrong with Henry's laughing fire.
"We're gonna test why Henry is laughing fire. Watch me and Ray", Schwoz instructed. Schwoz dragged Ray towards a table with a bowl of guacamole, or as Schwoz likes to call it "Schwoz-amole".
Schwoz slammed Ray's face down to the bowl which angered the superhero. Us teens laughed and suddenly ducked when fire comes out of Henry's mouth.
Schwoz then checked the machine before saying, "So the densitizer that made Henry indestructible it also mutated his throat muscles that's why fire shoots from his mouth when he laughs"
"Awesome!", Ray screamed.
"What?"
"Dude?"
"How is this awesome?"
"Cause now whenever Henry and I fight bad guys, all Henry has to do is laugh and the bad guys will be like "ow my face, why did I commit this crime?" and I'll be like "exactly" ", Ray demonstrated.
We rolled our eyes as Schwoz unstrapped Henry. "Yeah. What if I'm out on a date with Y/N and I laugh and then she's all "my face is melting! We're over!" ", Henry screamed in frustration before turning to me, "You still love me right?"
"Of course love, just please don't laugh in front of me, or anyone", I replied while rubbing his arm. Henry sighs.
"Maybe I can make some technical adjustments to the densitizer machine", Schwoz suggested. "That way Henry can stay indestructible but without fire breath", Charlotte finished.
Suddenly, Henry's phone started ringing. He picked it up and from what we can make out, Henry's dad wants him home for dinner.
We signaled Henry not to go home because of his condition but his dad threatened him. "Can Y/N join us for dinner?", Henry asked. I violently shook my head while pleading him not to take me. They chatted some more before ending the call.
"Why?", I whined. "Piper's making dinner", Henry informed. "Do you want me to die?", I asked.
I've had dinner with the Hart's a bunch of times and one night we ate Piper's food and I swear I was sick for three days after that. Piper's great and all, I can clearly see that she likes me more than her own brother, but she has to stay away from the kitchen.
"Please Y/N", Henry pouts and uses his cute puppy dog eyes since he know I can't resist that look, or his face in general.
"Fine, whatever", I groaned and grabbed my flannel. "We'll be back later guys", Henry told the others while he took my hand and we entered the elevator. "You owe me an ice cream for this", I told my boyfriend. "Sure", he nods his head.
We reached his house and walked inside. We saw Mr and Mrs Hart talking to Jasper and some other dude whose name is Dex. What's worse is that Dex is a comedian and no doubt he's gonna tell a bunch of jokes tonight. Tonight of all night.
"Hey guys. This is my cousin, Dex. Dex these are my best friends Henry and Y/N", Jasper said. Dex immediately stood in front of me. "Hey pretty lady", he smirked and winked at me.
"She's taken", Jasper quickly adds while Henry wraps an arm around my shoulder. Dex steps back as Piper placed the food she made on the table.
Henry hands me a large plastic cup and we sat down and hid it under the table.
I unwillingly shoved food in my mouth and swallowed it and tried not to throw up. Everyone ate small bits of the tuna parmesan as Piper was watching us. Henry rubs my back in comfort. "You ok baby?", he asked.
I gave him a look. "Let's have dinner somewhere else if I can get us out of here", he whispered. I nod my head and gave him a small smile.
"How is everyone liking my tuna parmesan?", Piper asked.
"Oh it's so good"
"Taste delicious"
"I'm loving it"
"So yummy, Piper"
She cheered. "Yay I'll go get more tuna sauce", she said before running to the kitchen. When she disappeared, we all shoved some parmesan inside the cup but stopped when Piper came back.
"So Dex... Tell us some of your jokes", Mrs Hart said. "Oh that won't be necessary", I said. "Yeah, Piper put some effort for tonight's dinner, we should at least take it seriously", Henry adds.
"Ok maybe Jasper should tell a joke", Dex jokes. Henry's family and Jasper laughs as Henry grabbed my hand and I comforted him.
"Alright knock knock?"
"Ooh", mr Hart cheered, "Who's there?"
"Idiot"
"Idiot who?"
"You. You're an idiot"
Everyone laughs, Henry's grip on my hand tightens and I fake coughed a laugh.
Dex did another trick which consists of making Jasper squeeze a tissue with his snot. Henry couldn't control his laugh so he bolted out of the house. You better not leave me here.
I played with the food in front of me as Dex said another joke. Piper suddenly saw Mr Hart shove food in the plastic cup and she blew up.
"Are you hiding my food another the table?", she growled. Mrs Hart, Jasper, Dex and I avoided eye contact. "What's a table?", Mr Hart tried to fool his daughter which angered her more.
"Way to go, you fool", Mrs Hart hissed at her husband. Piper checks his side to see a cup with tuna parmesan and also checks Henry's to see a cup that's nearly filled to the top.
"Anyone else?", she questioned. We pulled our cups from under the table. "So you all hid my food under the table this whole time?!?", Piper shrieked.
I grabbed my phone from my pocket and pretended to type something. "Oh hey guys, I'm gonna go out for a few minutes and call my mom ok? Don't ask questions, bye", I said with a smile and followed Henry out to the porch.
I saw him talking to Ray. "What are you doing out here?", he asked. "Piper found out we didn't eat any of the tuna parmesan and she's about to blow up", I answered.
"You two better get here right now", Ray said and ended the call. Henry opens the door only to see Piper throwing a tantrum. "Let's go", he said. He took my hand and we rushed back to Junk-N-Stuff.
"So this machine will end my laughing fire problem?", Henry asked Schwoz. "Yeah pretty much", Schwoz replied.
"But I won't be indestructible anymore?"
"We don't know"
"Well before we do this, Ray?", Henry looks at Ray who immediately walked up to him. "Yeah kid?"
"Do it. One last time", Henry taps his cheek. "Oh", Ray hesitantly replied before looking at Charlotte and I, "Alright then", and he pressed a kiss on Henry's cheek. Henry backed away from Ray in shock, "Whoa whoa whoa, what are you doing man?"
"What? You tapped your cheek!", Ray exclaimed. "I don't want you to kiss it, Y/N's the only one who can kiss my face. I want you to punch me", Henry replied.
"While I'm still indestructible", he adds. Ray and Henry laughed before Ray threw a punch on Henry's face. "I'm ok", Henry declared after he recovered from the punch.
"I love you", I whispered to Henry before we will shoot him again with the densitizer. "I'm not gonna die, baby", Henry laughs. "I know. I just want to tell you that", I replied. "I love you too", Henry cups my face and we kissed for a second.
He stepped in the densitizer. "Alright goggles on", Schwoz said. Charlotte hands me a pair of goggles and put them on. "Why don't I get goggles?", Henry asks.
"We gave the last pair to Y/N", Schwoz replied. Henry sighs. We turned the machine on and shot Henry with it. I turn around once again when I heard the mixture of Henry's and Ray's screams of pain.
After a few seconds, we turned the machine off and I rushed over to Henry and assisted him once again.
"Woo! That felt awesome", Ray cheered and we gathered around Henry. "You ok?", Charlotte asked.
"Yeah I think so", Henry replied. "Ok how do we make him laugh to see if fire comes out?", Ray asked.
"Do your Schwoz impression", Charlotte answered.
Ray did his Schwoz impression and Henry laughed but no fire came out.
"Ok so how about his indestructibility?", I asked.
"Well how about we--", Ray stopped when Schwoz slammed a vase on Henry's head and he passed out.
"Oh", I breathed, "No we know"
We stood in silence and Ray spoke up, "You guys wanna order some Chinese food?"
