But when both of us shook our heads, he surely knew that none of us knew who that was.

"Why did Aoi push me?! She fainted after that! Why, huh!?"

• Third person POV
"We haven't met ever since the principal thing, huh?" Hanako thought.
"So it's happening to you too, am I right?" Y/N discussed.
The tension in the room was about to bust the roof just because Y/N and Yashiro made eye contact.
Y/N was truly scared deep inside, but she fought it away by taking quiet, deep breaths.
"Sempai? The girl that helped me with cooking the other day? Why are they fighting? They're both two beautiful girls..." Kou thought, " I want to protect them from this evil apparition..."
Hanako tried to stop the whole play-in-the-theater thing.
"Stop, Yashiro. If you really want to know... I'll tell you."
"You will?" the three said in sync.
~Teach me Hanako: Start~
"Ehem, " Hanako cleared his throat, " Kimochi san had an experience in her life she calls '''unfortunate''' so she makes people feel what she felt by rotating the feelings of good around. She can't do everything at once though."
"She can only do one person at once. When she's done, she leaves that person and jumps to the next, leaving the previous person unconscious."
"Kimochi-san loves to hide in dark places. If we want to find her, we have to search for her there..."
~Teach me Hanako: End~
"Here, " he talked as he handed Kou a walkie-talkie, "we'll use these to communicate as we split up: me and Yashiro, you and Y/N."
Yashiro and Kou groaned.
"Seriously, with you?
"Why not Kou?" Yashiro thought.
"Who else would she want to be with?" Y/N and Hanako thought in sync, though Kou knew how nice she could be.
"How am I supposed to protect the two? Why don't you go alone?!" Kou screamed.
"If you want to solve the case, you listen to me, alright?" Hanako possessed a manipulating power and dim eyes again as he held up his knife.
They both nodded in agreement.
Y/N sweat-dropped.
"I trust you with Y/N, " Hanako whispered in Kou's ear before they parted ways.
"Don't let the cat out of the bag."

• Hanako POV
"Have you found anything yet? Over." I talked with that boy through the device.
"No, Over," he replied.
"Well, contact me back when you do. Over."
~
"So, ghost boy, why didn't you go with 'Stupid' instead? Aren't you guys friends?" Yashiro asked me as she kicked a rock.
We searched all the dark places outside of the academy while Donut and Shonen searched for her inside the academy.
"She's not stupid, " I replied, "and I prefer to be called 'Hanako', not 'ghost boy'."
"Whatever, ghost boy."
I sighed.
"You see, the supernatural we're looking for isn't just any other normal supernatural, she's different. In order for Kimochi-san's rumor to work, she must pick a protagonist and I fear that she chose my little Donut."
"Kimochi-san was really sad in her past and so is Donut now, so Kimochi-san could have chosen Donut so she could have someone to relate with. You could also notice it by most people being nice to Donut suddenly."
"I can't go in there because Kimochi-san has a strong sense of power. She'll know where I am and run away. That's why I sent Shonen in there with her because his power has decreased due to the seal I placed on his staff. She'll come after her main character, that's for sure-"
"Sorry, who's 'Donut'?" Yashiro asked me.
I chortled.
"Oh, I haven't had a chance to tell you, have I, " I pronounced slyly.
"Spit it out."
"It's Y/-"
My interruption was followed by a loud noise coming from inside the building.
It sounded like the Eiffel Tower had collapsed.
"That must be them, " I said.
I tried to speak through the walkie-talkie but I didn't hear anyone's voice.
"Hold on tight, Yashiro. Or will you wait till I get back?"
I could tell she was scared of the loud noise but she tried to look tough.
It was actually kinda funny.
She wanted to follow because she didn't want to be alone but she also wanted to stay because she didn't want to touch me or have anything to do with me.
Yashiro ended up staying outside in the end.

• Y/N POV
[7 minutes earlier]
Half our has passed... and we still haven't found anything!
We searched all the dark places in the school while Yashiro and Hanako searched for her outside the school.
This is tiring!
"Have you found anything yet? Over." I heard Hanako speak with Minamoto through the device.
"No, Over," he replied.
"Well, contact me back when you do. Over."
"Yeah, yeah, I know... Over."

"So, Yashiro-sempai can see the dumb toilet-breath? And she's troubled, too? " that boy asked me.
"Yeah! Didn't you see or are you really that blind?" I yelled at him as I shook my head to the other side, not starting any conversation.
He's not toilet-breath...
Then the quietest butterflies flew by out the window. Yep, silence.
It stayed like that for about 5 minutes until Kou decided to break it.
"So... how are you able to see him? Are you an exorcist or something?"
"I was born like this, " I replied.
Silence again~
"Should I tell her?"
"I'm not the bad guy, " he frowned and stopped walking. He glanced at the ground. "It's Hanako, I'm telling you-"
"Hanako isn't bad! " I screamed back at him, " He's helped me out a lot and as far as I'm concerned, I haven't seen him do anything evil!"
"It's probably because he hasn't done anything 'bad' since he's met you, but think about the past!"
I froze.
Could he be telling the truth?
"I have to tell her now or else..."
All of a sudden I felt myself get pushed to the wall. I groaned upon feeling the pressure between my back and the wall.
"Hey! What the- let me go!"
~[Kabedon]~
He just stood there and ignored my cries. He had an arm on my left and he leaned in closer. So close that I could hear the oxygen escape his lips. I mean, he was an inch taller than me. His brows furrowed and his eyes weren't looking straight into mine, they were darting elsewhere. A tiny amount of scarlet appeared on his face.
JUST A LITTLE BIT.
But why?
"Senpai, " he started.
My heartbeat increased due to the small space he let me possess and the nickname he gave me.
Sempai?
I brought my hands to my chest and knuckled them. I felt myself blush.
Why?
"Hanako is indeed an evil apparition and it's my job to exorcise him, " he continued, with a cold and serious voice," he carries a butcher knife around due to the fact that he had murdered someone in his life. I wanted you to know that but that toilet-breath prevented me from telling you. That's why it's my duty as an exorcist to protect-"
He fainted to the ground after he received a slap from me.
"I don't need any protection! So what, he murdered someone. Heck, I don't need to believe you!"
"You have to Sempai! Please, " he begged as he got on his feet again but something interrupted him mid-way.
Shortly afterward, Kou went flying at the speed of sound towards the corridor wall.
I opened my eyes to see him all covered in blood due to the force.
"Minamoto!" I screamed as I ran to the body.
"What hit him?"
This isn't happening. Not again.
I bent to his level and he was indeed unconscious-
Goosebumps suddenly coursed through my body due to the sudden discovery.
"He doesn't have a heartbeat?"
I turned around to see nobody. I felt myself being watched. But from who?
I faced back to the boy but I could hear him breathe. Sweat drizzled down my forehead as I thought deeper into the situation.
"How is that possible? Not a single heartbeat but- he's breathing?"
"I beg your pardon?"
I remained silent upon hearing a voice coming from behind me. It occurred to be unfamiliar. I didn't dare to turn around. I let fear get the best of me.
My quivering increased as the person behind me was silent. Everywhere was silent, even me, as a person.
My breathing got faster and faster by the second. All I could think about was death.
I'm gonna die...
I'm not done with life yet...
I should've followed Hanako, he would've saved me like from Yashiro like last time...
I should've listened to Minamoto... If it wasn't for my stupid nonsense, he could've had the chance to protect me...
I should've... I should've...
"Boo."
The boy that floated upside down in front of me had a wide grin plastered on his face with those golden, squinted eyes of his.
Tears escaped my eyes, I was relieved to see who it was.
"I gotcha real good, didn't I?"
A/N: Sorry it took so long. I've been busy with some things for school and there Wattpad was having problems publishing it 👺☹ . It's so annoying! I'd rather write stories than Math!
