yuta couldn't help but feel discomfort during the dinner with byul's parents. her dad seemed unimpressed with each of his statements, while her mom was overly enthusiastic to the point where it felt fake.
"so how did you two meet?" mrs. shin asked with her usual cheery tone, taking a smal sip from her glass of ice cold water after. she wore a knitted sweater. the thickness of the cloth went well with the room's current temperature.
this was the question he held the most anticipation for, considering the practice he and byul did for it earlier. "well as the cfo of our company, i usually come across━"
"woah, you're the cfo?" mr. shin couldn't help but interrupt, his eyes visibly growing wide behind the thick frame of his silver glasses. his monotonous expression got replace with utter astonishment.
after processing the answer, he leaned closer towards mrs. shin to whisper for only them to hear, but they were still able to decipher the movement of his lips. "i like this guy."
both yuta and byul smiled victoriously at the somewhat successful conviction.

byul accompanied yuta by the stairsteps of her parents' front porch, offering him a warm cup of coffee. there, they sat in silence for approximately five minutes.
"i guess you weren't so bad after all," she began, using her cup of coffee to warm her chilly fingertips, "you basically saved me from lifetime hopelessness in my love life there. i gotta say sorry for calling you a bitch boss."
"sorry for calling you a pathetic cruella de vil," yuta answered. "we had our fair share of offending statements, so no need to worry."
the night sky looked too beautiful to ignore. it faded into a mild september blue, stars comparable to glowing asterisks scattered all over it. who knew that such an admirably simplistic sight could still be seen in this bustling city? what finished its ethereality was a crescent moon which radiated frail illumination.
"hey," she interrupted the serenity once an idea bumped into her head, "since we're both thirsty for partners, what if we continue this relationship thing-y? just for, you know, experience."
he nodded, looking forward to more details regarding her proposal. "i'm listening."
"let's make it last for eleven days, but if we like how it goes after that, then fuck everything and let it be."
the thought was absolutely ridiculous. laughable, even.
