You hadn't spoken to Heather Duke in years, you couldn't after she joined the Heathers. It pained you to see her when Chandler would shout at her, or when she seemed to only ever be happy when in her book, but mostly the way she looked now. The poor girl seemed emaciated, and it worried you. She'd always had weight issues, and you prayed that it wasn't what you thought it was.
Until, you walked into the girl's bathroom, to see nobody in there. Strangely, the only thing you could hear was slight coughing and gagging. Genuinely worried, you opened the stall door the noise was coming from and you saw your old friend, Heather Duke, knelt down by the toilet.
"Oh Heather, why?" You asked, kneeling down beside her.
"W-What, I'm just sick!" She tried to lie, panicking.
"We both know you're not.. Please, don't lie to me, you know I'm always here for you.." You tried to get her to open up and put your arm around her.
"I-I'm sorry!" She put her face into your shoulder and you felt tears fall down your jacket.
"You've nothing to be sorry for.." You reassured her, stroking her hair attentively.
"I do, I ditched you, and I miss you so much. I know it's been years but I need you, so badly." She lifted her head up off your shoulder and apologised.
"I need you too.." You admitted, blushing.
"Me too.." She admitted, smiling awkwardly.
"It sucks we grew apart, but I'm always in love with you." You muttered, and she looked down sadly.
"Fuck it, I don't wanna be your friend." You blurted out.
"What? Did I do something wrong..?" She asked, confused.
"I don't wanna die wishing I had told you how I felt. I love you, as more than friend!" You confessed, a little too loudly, it echoing through the bathroom.
"I love you too.." She muttered.
"Phew.. Anyway, let's get you cleaned up and we can go skip or something." You said, standing up.
"Alright, sounds like a date." She agreed and got up too.
"Anything you like, darling." You smirked at her, and began to wipe her running makeup off her face.
"T-Thanks.." She smiled gratefully at you.
"No problemo, I am gonna have to put my jacket in the wash though.."
"Sorry bout that." She apologised, seeing your makeup stained jacket.
"Don't worry about it, and if you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I'm always here and I've got two shoulders." You said, grinning goofily.
"You're such a dork.." She muttered, blushing slightly.
Soon enough, she was cleaned up and the two of you went shopping together, going to her place afterwards to watch a movie.
