A few days later Kendrick took Diamond back down to her old house which is just Brian's now and got her things while Ayanna was with Vanessa.
Brian hands Diamond the keys to her car.
"Thank you", Diamond said as she handed him the divorce papers.
"Hold up. You still getting full custody?", Brian asked.
"Yes", Diamond replied. "But you will still see her"
"Don't you feel like that a little bit over board?", he asked.
"You mean like how you took all my money and keys? Isn't that a little bit overboard?", Diamond asked.
Brian looks away and shakes his head. "You gotta bring that shit up?", Brian asked. "What the fuck that gotta do with my daughter?"
"Nothing but you putting her in danger does...and to think I was even going to take you back", Diamond said.
"You don't have to take me back, I don't care anymore", Brian said.
"That's good to know", she said.
"What happened that night wasn't supposed to go down like that", he said.
"Shouldn't have even been in my house", she said.
"We done here?", he asked.
"I am? Are you?", Diamond asked.
"You got a smart ass mouth", Brian said.
Diamond shook her head and looked away.
"So what you gonna do when you have the baby? Get full custody of them too?", he asked.
Diamond was quiet because she didn't know if it was his or not.
"But I guess I can still see my babygirl right? And that's all that matters huh?", he asked.
"I'm about to go", she said.
"And lay up with that nigga?", he asked. "Like we wasn't even together?"
"...we weren't. I was nothing put a puppy to you", she said.
"Woooowwwww. So you're really going to say that??", he asked.
Diamond walked to her car and opened the door.
"So you gone act like you ain't never loved me?", he asked. "Like moments we shared wasn't real?"
"I don't wanna talk Brian. I'm leaving", Diamond said as she got in the car.
Brian looked at her and Diamond looked at him then looked down as she pulled off in her car.
Brian began to think to himself then he walked in the house.

Diamond pulled up to Kelly's house and knocked on the door.
Kelly opened it and her eyes got wide.
"Diamond? Hey", she said with a smile.
"Hey, I just came to give you some stuff I found in the house. They belong to you", she said.
Kelly stopped smiling. "Oh", she said.
Diamond handed it to her.
Kelly tired to start a conversation. "Hey, I'm really sorry about what happened before and I really really really wanna make it up to you", she said.
"Kelly? I don't wanna be your friend. Not even associates", Diamond said.
Kelly looked down.
"Little sister my ass", Diamond said as she walked to her car.
Kelly watched her for a moment then went back in the house.
Diamond got in the car and made her way back to Kendrick's house.

Diamond got to the house and walked in and spent something burning. "Kendrick?", she called.
"In here", he said from the kitchen.
Diamond quickly walked into the kitchen and saw smoke. "Oh my gosh. What the fuck?", Diamond said.
"Yea, it's not burnt. It just looks black", he said.
"Kendrick? Come on now", Diamond said.
"Yea I fucked up", he said as took his oven mitt off. "I didn't mess up the string beans though"
"I hope you wouldn't. All you have to do is heat that up", she said.
"I tired though", he said.
"And I applaud you for it but um how about you just make one of your famous dishes tonight, AKA takeout and I'll cook tomorrow", he said.
Kendrick smiles a little. "You got jokes", he said.
"Listen Ken, you just got this house. No need to burn it down", she said.
"How about you teach me then?", he said with a smirk.
"I will but tonight ain't the night", she said.
"How was it when you met with Brian", he asked.
"Same shit", she said as she took off her jacket. "Arguing..then I saw Kelly. I wanted to give her some things I had of hers instead of throwing it away"
Kendrick nods. "That's mature of you", he said.
"Yea... seems like even if people do me wrong I still feel the need to be good to them. I don't understand why", she said.
"Because you're a good person", he replied. "God blesses people like that"
Diamond sat down . "Turn on the fan over the stove", she said.
Kendrick did what told and sat at the table with Diamond.
"I'll wash the dishes or whatever", she said.
"Why would you do that?", he asked. "I'll do it"
Diamond didn't say anything. She was so used to cleaning up after Brian and Ayanna.
"How about you get the food and I'll wash the dishes. My wallet is upstairs", he said. "Could you give to me?"
"Sure", diamond replied.
"And where is Ayanna?", he asked.
"Vanessa wanted her for a few days", Diamond said.
"Oh", he said. "Think about what you wanna eat while you go upstairs"
"Okay", Diamond said.
Kendrick got up while Diamond went upstairs.
An hour later Diamond came back with the food and Kendrick had candles lite and a blanket on the floor.
Diamond smiled a little as she looked around. The scent of the candles were her favorite.
Kendrick came out the kitchen with some wine glasses and bottle.
"Kendrick what is this?", Diamond asked.
"Candles", he said.
"Yea but why?", she asked.
"You've been stressed and if I remember this candle scent makes you relaxed", he said. "And I don't know it you like this kinda wine or not so.."
"Kendrick this is sweet", Diamond said.
Kendrick our the bottle down along with the wine glasses and too the bag from Diamond and put the takeout boxes on the floor. He grabs a pillow and sat it down for her to sit on.
"After you", he said.
Diamond smiled and sat on the pillow and Kendrick sat across from her.
"I like this.. thanks", Diamond said.
"No problem", he said.
Diamond and Kendrick opened their boxes and they began to eat and talk. As they talked, Diamond began to realize kendrick was the type of guy she needed in her life. The happiness that she was missing. The half that made her feel complete.
