A few months after the entrance exam on a warm sunny spring day in an amazing field of sakura, Totsuki had its opening ceremony for the 1st years.
Everyone watched as Nakiri Erina walked on the platform and received her award. The boys and girls complimented her beauty as Erina existed as an old man appeared up on platform, the demon king and director of Totsuki, Nakiri Senzaemon.
"Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations on entering the high school section!" greeted the headmaster
In the right side of back stage, the twins looked at the director and listened on his explanation. Tsuki felt a hand on her back, she turned around and look at Soma with a questioning look. He leaned closer on her ear and whispering.
"I'll let you go first and so don't chicken out, Tsu."
She got nervous and started to shake and look at Soma with tears in her eyes.
"Don't be nervous, you can do it!" cheered Soma as he patted his sister's head and grinned at her.
She smiled back to her brother, squeezed her brother's hand as her name was called to introduce herself. Tsuki leaned closer to his ear and whispered.
"Let's reach to the top together, nii nii."
She walked away leaving her older brother with a proud smile. Tsuki stood in front of her audience and took a deep breath.
"M..My name is Yukihira Tsuki... best regards to the next three years. Haha... personally I wasn't expecting to go here but I hope you'll treat me well!" Tsuki smiled, as the sakura started falling around her, highlighting her hair and eyes as everyone started staring her, mesmerized by her beauty. Tsuki took a bow and quickly walked off the platform, as she was walking off Soma heard some whispers from the crowd.
"Her personality is similar to Nakiri Erina's but more kind."
"If Erina-sama is a queen, then she is a princess."
"But if she gets expelled, it will be a shame."
"She looks more heavenly than Erina-sama"
"I want to make her mine."
"Her hair looks so beautiful"
Soma became a little protective over his little sister. He heads to platform, standing in front of everyone and cleared his throat.
"Well...like, I'm sorry for beginning in this high place, hehe"
Tsuki looks at her brother from the backstage but doesn't notice a blond hair girl with lavender eyes sit on the chair staring at her.
"Yukihira Tsuki, hm..." Erina thought as she analyzed the younger twin.
"They look alike, facewise. But her features are that completely different than her brother's if she introduced herself to me I would think she was nor-"
Erina noticed a smile on her face and quickly shakes her head to get rid of the feeling. She looks up at the platform suddenly and surprised to see who standing front of everyone is.
"I'll say two or three things...ermm...I'm Yukihira Soma, truth be told, I didn't expect- to be admitted to this academy, but I don't plan to lose to some bunch that never stood in front of clients."
Tsuki face palmed and know what her older brother will say next.
"I'll use all of you as stepping stones." Soma points a finger up. "I'll take the top. Best regards for the next three years." He bowed and was about to walk away but stopped half way.
"Also I hope all of you who think you can get with my younger sister, will have to get through me first" threatened Soma and exited the platform to follow his sister backstage as all first years student in the audience shouted angrily and threw things at him, while his sister held both hands on her face and shook, didn't know whether to be embarrassed of him or for him.
"Phew... I said it without biting my tongue." said Soma
Suddenly he felt a sharp pain on his back. He was hit by none other than his younger sister who was pouting had a tick mark on her head. Soma chuckled and hugged her then meet lavender eyes.
"Oh, you're from the exam! You were Nakiri...right?" asked Soma
He let go of his sister and rubbed a finger under his nose.
"I was really nervous, ever since I was a kid, things like my testimonial weren't important. How was i? Was it any weird?"
"THAT DOESN'T MATTER! YUKIHIRA-KUN! WHY ARE YOU HERE...?" Erina exclaimed
Tsuki was curious about between Soma and Erina, but was interrupted when something around her neck feels light.
Tsuki reached inside her shirt and pulled something out; a black band necklace with a small golden locker with an Iris flower and leaves wrap around it.
Tsuki heard her brother wasn't suited to be in Tootsuki by the headmaster's granddaughter, Tsuki was unpleased about it and hid it well but the mood changed when Soma spoke about when he first held a knife.
"Twelve years that's the time I've been living in the kitchen, you know?" ask Soma
Erina was surprises by his words and Soma continued speaking.
"I can't get my shop dirty by leaving by saying my food"was bad". Wait for it. I will make you clearly say"it's good" with that mouth of yours! I'll exhaust my cooking to its limits-"" challenge Soma while Erina not pleases about it.
Tsuki glares between them, as she held the necklace and whispered to herself.
"I'll get stronger to defeat you"
-Flashback-
It was sunset on behind the warm grass on the hill on the summer, in America.
An 8 years old girl with ice blue pig tail braids, wearing a dark blue and white sailor outfit uniform with white sandals.
The girl looked down with tears fall from her eyes as she felt a warm gently hand on her cheeks and hear a voice call her name.
"Tsuki."
She looked up at an older boy, maybe 2 years older max with messy black hair, wearing a gentle smile and felt his finger remove her tears. Once the tears were gone he took out a small locket and key that has an Iris around it from his pocket and lays the locket on her right hand.
He holds her hand where the locket is and says.
"Congrats on getting out of the hospital Tsuki. One day let's meet again"
"Thanks..." Tsuki said sadly, as she looked down on the ground before taking a seat.
"Huh? Why aren't you happy about getting out?" the boy asked as he took a seat next to the girl. "Oh~ I get it you're going to miss me right!" the black haired boy teased then seeing the girl's face become red and suddenly felt a small pressure on his stomach.
He chuckle and enveloped her in a hug, Tsuki was tense but slowly relaxed. "Will... I ever see you again?"
He leaned towards her ear " When we grow up and plus..." He let her go" I'll beat you right, Tsuki~?"
Tsuki got mad and shouted "NO, I WILL BEAT YOU!" She pointed at him "JUST WATCH AND SEE!"
The boy got caught off guard by her words then grinned and brought up a pinkie finger.
"Be careful, you just got out of the hospital yesterday, don't overwork yourself. Let's make a promise" he giggled as Tsuki looked visibly confused.
"When we grow up and get stronger let's meet again, can you promise me?"
Tsuki smiled and wrapped her pinkie finger to his.
"I promise!"
-Ending flashback-
"su..."
"TSU?"
Tsuki snaps out, felt two hands on her shoulder and see her older brother in front of her.
"Soma?"
She looked around and saw they are inside the school building, some students glared at her brother and some stared at her with a blush and Tsuki realize they aren't outside anymore.
"How did we get here?" Tsuki asked, confused.
Suddenly her older brother chuckled and replied.
"While you were daydreaming, I carried you here like a princess!"
Tsuki blushed a bright red when she realized she had to be carried like that around school on her first day.
"It's forbidden love nii nii!"
"Wrong, it's..."correct Soma
"Sibling complex" The twins said at same time, they looked at each other and start to chuckle until she hears her brother says.
"Since we are in different classes y-"
"Wait, how do you know that?" Tsuki interrupted
"This is why you shouldn't be daydreaming out in broad daylight ... oh you should check on your pocket, well see you imouto-chan" advised Soma and walked away.
Tsuki sighed and listened to her brother's advice by putting her hand in her pockets, she took out a small folded paper and unfolded it. It was her school schedule.
"Well at least he did gave me my schedule without I notice, typical nii nii... let's see" Tsuki thought as she smiled.
~15 minutes later~
All first year students in the first lesson were staring at the ice blue haired girl, who was aimlessly staring outside. Suddenly she felt a strong aura beside her and sees a boy with light brown skin, white hair into a low ponytail and green eyes. He has his arm on the table and stares into her dark purple eyes. If his eyes were like leaves reflecting sunlight, then Tsuki's eyes were like that of an amythest reflecting from the moonlight.
"You are Yukihira Tsuki?" he asked
"And you are...?" Tsuki looked at him with an innocent smile.
"Hayama Akira, I heard you and your brother want to take the top, do you think it's easy to reach that?" He stared at her with a dark aura. Everyone got scare of his aura except the ice blue hair girl, who seemed to not notice the aura.
"Oh, I see. Well it's fine with me if my brother wants to be the top. His goals are my goals, so if he wants the top I'll be there with him. " She smiled.
Akira start to smile "I guess both you and him are alike...next time we meet let's have shokugeki and I will take the top"
She smile and cross her arms "I can't wait Hayama- san" all students sees a one sided fire between the two, with Hayama showing an aura while Tsuki was concealing hers.
"So you know about Shokugeki as well?" Tsuki asked, Hayama sweatdropped and sighed.
"Is she serious?" everyone, including Hayama sighed.
"I knew it for long time ago, when I first started here." Replied Akira
"I see, I guess I didn't know as much as I knew." Tsuki commented.
As Akira was about to speak suddenly got interrupted by footsteps near the door. Everyone stood in front of a workstation and the door opened. There stood a tall young lady with midnight long hair in a ponytail, light round chocolate eyes and wearing a chef's uniform with a loose green scarf around her neck.
"Chào young apprentis" The teacher cheerfully smiles to everyone around the room. They look calm and relaxed by her aura into she says. "Those who stand beside you will be your partner. You are responsible to make delicacies from the moment you stand in the kitchen, but remember..."
"In my class who can't make their dish an A, will get an E" the aura around her suddenly change from cheerful to serious pressure. Everyone become frightened except two students.
"That's her?! Vietnam cuisine division chief, Chi Hoa, who gave an entire class of 46 people an E and 20 got expelled last year because of her. A lecturer that specially strict with her evolution taste! Her nickname is the Two faced Lotus!" everyone but Tsuki thought.
"Today your menu is Bánh Ít Trần. Just in case those who don't know, I wrote down the recipe on the white board. Your limits 2 hours!" instructed Hoa.
"Submit your dish when you are finish. Your time starts NOW!" The students start prepare to make the dish while Akira looked at the white board and suddenly hear a snap of fingers beside him.
"Maybe that will work! Hayama-san can u bring-"call Tsuki, leaned closer to his ear and whispered.
"Since we're team now, its fine by me" accepted Akira and walked to bring her request while Tsuki tied her hair back with a white headband and brings rice flour, sugar and other ingredients and started to make dough.
Suddenly she smells faint cinnamon closer to her, turn around and see Akira brought lemon, chili and other ingredients.
"Good timing Hayama-san! Can you make dipping sauce?" She asks as she finished making dough.
"Of course, beside I accept your challenge." Replied Akira and starts mix spices while Tsuki fries the filling. The teacher sense the ice blue hair girl and the white hair ponytail boy were challenging and supporting each other at the same time, Chi smiles and walks to her own desk.
Later on Chi tastes the dishes by students, some fail and same pass and see next group that catch her attention. Hayama put his and Tsuki's dish on the table in front of teacher.
"Please enjoy." The ice blue hair says with an angelic smile.
The teacher looks at the plate, three dumplings on dipping sauce with green onion on top. Her mouth starts drooling.
"So beautiful, it look like three stones one the river...let's see how it tastes." Thought the teacher, she picks up a dumpling with her hand and takes a bite.
Suddenly surprise how soft and easy to chew the rice dough, but the most important was the filling. The teacher looks inside the dumpling and was surprised to taste olives and pork.
"Usually I always see pork- and chicken filling in dumplings, how did you wrap olives around the pork filling?" ask the teacher
Tsuki put her finger up and answers. "I used Chaoshan olives where they're super popular and delicious on their bitter sweetness and stuffed it with the ground pork seasoned with salt, pepper, olive oil and dark olives. I found that idea by eating stuffed olives and drinking olive and pork soup."
"I see, no one have ever thought that way what they did. I can't stop eating it! Sweet and bitter notes from the olives, salty dipping and filling.. everything is just exquisite!" though Hoa
Everyone was surprised by her ideas and the teacher starts to laugh, she washed her hand with cloth with smile and look at them.
"Yukihira Tsuki and Hayama Akira- I give you an A, however it's so shame that I don't have authority to give you something higher!"says Hoa
Tsuki untied her headband from her hair and comment "Always a pleasure to serve."
After their lecture is done, Hayama and Tsuki are outside the classroom. The bright green eyes stared at the ice blue hair girl wrapping the cloth that tied her hair back around her hand as he walks to her.
"Next time we meet, I will defeat you and take the top, Yukihira Tsuki" with eyes of challenge and see her mouth smirk, her aura spilling out at last.
"Challenge accepted, Hayama-san!"
He smirks and both of them go different direction, Tsuki held her necklace, barely touching her lips and smiled to herself.
"Maybe being here isn't so bad after all." comment Tsuki
