Morgan’s POV
“YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW HIM!” I screamed.
“EXACTLY! AND NEITHER DO YOU!” my dad yelled back.
“YES DAD, YES I DO!”
This argument had began about 10 minutes ago, when I first walked into the room.. let me explain.
After saying my goodbyes to Harry, I walked into the house, to find both of my parents staring at me with their arms crossed.
“Hello?” I said, questioningly.
“Morgan, when the high school office called me to say that you weren’t in school today, I tried to explain that it was St. Fitzgerald’s Day, and after embarrassing myself, I realized that there is no St. Fitzgerald’s Day!” my mom said.
I didn’t know how to respond to that.
“However, there was school today. And that’s something you didn’t go to,” she continued, “Morgan we love you, but there’s no need to lie. If there’s something going on in school making you not want to go, you can tell us.”
“No Mom, it’s not that,” I said.
My dad joined in, firmly saying, “Then you better start explaining, because I didn’t know about this date. A date? I haven’t even met the guy! I have to approve of guys before you go out with them! Morgan you’re my little girl, and my little girl doesn’t just go out on dates without telling her dad first!”
Why was everyone yelling at me. I felt like I was being cornered.
“Mom, I’m sorry I lied to you. The truth is that someone important asked me on a date today. And if you two sit down, I will explain it.”
They looked at each other, and my mom just shrugged her arms, sitting down. My dad followed her and took a seat on the couch as well.
“Okay,” I said. How do I just tell them?
“Well, you two know how much I love Harry Styles.” They nodded their heads.
“And you know how the VIP Backstage passes didn’t work.” They just nodded and gave me a look that said Go on.
“Well I thought that I saw someone that looked just like Harry as we were leaving those bodyguards, the ones keeping us from going backstage. And-”
My dad interrupted “Morgan, your love of One Direction is great, but I want to know about this date, and why you were ditching school!” I have always been a Daddy’s Girl, and he usually isn’t ever this harsh with me.
“Well, just let me finish!” I said. “So, that guy that I saw for a second really was Harry! And he saw me too! And he really wanted to meet me and he talked to Phil and ended up meeting me when I went to the mall and he gave me his number and we went on a really cool date! And I threw up on him..but it was so cute he bought me this tacky tee shirt. And then we went out today with Niall and Hannah and-” I stopped talking because they just looked at me with disbelief, and some concern. “I’m serious!” I said, and I pulled out my phone to show them the group picture that Niall, Harry, and Hannah and I had taken at the restaurant. They just stared blankly at the picture, taking in the crazy truth.
“HE STALKED YOU?!” My dad screamed.
“No no it wasn’t like that-”
“Never. Never again. Morgan Renea I don’t want you to see that boy again!” My dad said.
“Look Dad, I know it’s a lot to take in but-”
“NO MORGAN!” He interrupted, “You can’t trust that womanizer! He’s a rich celebrity who probably sleeps around all the time!”
“Marty!” My mom exclaimed, scolding my dad.
“No Mel, she needs to stay away from that boy!” he exclaimed.
“DAD! What the actual heck?! Do you know how many hundreds of times I have mentioning marrying Harry and how many hundreds of times you have approved?” I argued.
“WELL I NEVER THOUGHT THAT YOU WOULD ACTUALLY DO IT!” He yelled.
“WELL WHAT’S WRONG WITH IT? HE’S A GOOD GUY! NOT SOME ‘WOMANIZER WHO SLEEPS AROUND’!”
“HE’S GOING TO HURT YOU MORGAN!” my dad argued.
“YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW HIM!” I screamed.
“EXACTLY! AND NEITHER DO YOU!” my dad yelled back.
“YES DAD, YES I DO!”
And as I ran upstairs to my room to slam the door, I heard Hannah come in through the front door.
Hannah’s POV
“Woah, Melanie, Marty, what happened? Is everything okay?” I asked Morgan’s parents.
“Did you know about this?” Marty asked, with a little bit of a crazy tone in his voice.
“Oh,” I said, “Look I’m sorry about the whole St. Fitzgerald’s Day thing, I just wanted one day with Morgan. I swear, I won’t make her ditch again.”
“No, not that. About this ‘Harry’ thing.” Marty said.
“Oh yeah! Isn’t is crazy! I’m so happy for Morgan! Her dreams might really come true, they’ve really hit it off!”
“I can’t take this anymore. YOU’VE ALL GONE CRAZY!” He exclaimed as he walked out of the house, slamming the front door loudly.
“Marty!” Melanie yelled as she ran outside after him.
I ran up to Morgan’s room, finding her on her bed, crying into her pillow. I walked up and stroked her hair, “It’s alright Morgan. It’s okay.”
“No it’s not,” her muffled voice said as she lifted her head from the pillow. There was mascara smudged all over her face.
“He’ll come to an understanding, and everything will be fine!”
“No it won’t Hannah! My dad has never yelled at me like that before! We always get along, and now he’s screaming his head off at me! It’ll never work out!”
“Don’t say that!” I said. Then I thought for a minute….
“I GOT IT!” I said excitedly, “We’ll have Harry meet him! Your dad will love Harry!”
“NO!” Morgan screeched, “He hates Harry! I always thought he loved him, but I guess not. My dad can never meet him!” she sniffled, “Never.”
“Okay Morgan, whatever you say.” I left her room, and pulled out my phone to text Harry.
Me: HARRY! EMERGENCY! You need to come back to Morgan’s house!
HARRY: On my way, what’s wrong? Is Morgan okay?!
Me: she’s fine. but dad went ballistic! he needs to meet you and know that you’re a responsible person!
HARRY: Are you sure that’s a good idea?
Me: Yes! Hurry!
Harry’s POV
“SIR! You need to turn around!” I shouted to the limo driver.
“But Harry, we can’t be late to the hotel! We have a flight to catch!” Niall explained.
“Well the boys will have to pack for us and we’ll meet them at the airport. It’s important.”
“What’s wrong?” Niall asked, concerned.
“Morgan needs me. Her dad went crazy when he found out about us.”
**10 minutes later**
As I pulled up to the house, I saw a man and a woman talking outside, a little aggressively. The man was holding car keys and seemed like he was planning on leaving. I walked up to them. “Excuse me, but are you-”
“Oh my gosh. You’re Harry Styles!” The woman said with a bright smile, “Hi! I’m Melanie, Morgan’s mom!”
“Hello Melanie, nice to meet you,” I said shaking her hand. “And you are her father, I assume?”
Morgan’s POV
I heard a knock on my door. “Go away!” I yelled.
My dad opened the door and came in.
“Morgan,” he said apologetically. I just continued to stare at him.
“I’m sorry. I overreacted.” I still just stared at him, not saying a word.
“It’s just hard to watch you grow up. When you turned 16 I almost lost my mind because I realized you were old enough to drive. That’s why I haven’t taken you to get your license yet..” he trailed off.
“Dad!” I finally said. I actually completely forgot about getting my license.
“But that’s not the point!” he said. “Next you’ll be graduating. And then you’ll go to college and leave me. And one day, you’ll-” he cut off and wiped a tear from his eye, “You’ll get married and you won’t be mine anymore.” Woah. He never cries, not infront of me anyways.
“Dad,” I hugged him and pulled away, “I will always be your daughter, even when I get married. But that’s years and years away! All I did was go on a date. That’s what teenage girls do. I’m not a little girl anymore.”
“I know that now,” he said. “I talked to Harry. He’s very nice. And I want you to be happy. So, he has my approval. You may date him.”
“Wait, you talked to him?!”
“Yes, Hannah called him and had him come over. He was going to say goodbye to you again, but he said he would miss his flight.”
“Aww dadddd,” I said, hugging him again, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
“But if he ever hurts you,” he said, pulling away from the hug, “I’ll kill him.”
I just smiled, “Okay dad.”
