i run my hands through the fabric of the dress i'm wearing. it's one of the dress my mom bought for me. i decided to wear it since i will be attending a formal event. i wouldn't be sitting inside the venue wearing sweats and a random tee right?
i also brought a pair of nude pumps to match my white dress. swiping a little bit of tinted gloss, i finished my make up with popping my lips. i did my make up naturally, not too much since first, i'm not great in makeup and second, i just don't like heavy makeup. it's a pain in the ass when removing it.
"i'm hungry" i mumbled to myself
i wasn't able to eat breakfast since i woke up late and the breakfast buffet has already ended
as i clasp the strap of my heels, my doorbell rang, at first it was just once but it continues until it becomes annoying
"yah!" i shouted from where i sat
the ringing sound went on a halt
i stood up and let out a huff of annoyance
once opening my door, mingyu and jaehyun stood outside, wearing their fancy dress shirts
"fucking finally!" mingyu exclaimed dramatically "i'm getting hungry lets go!"
i rolled my eyes at him and diverted my gaze to a smiling jaehyun. he looks handsome. mingyu is handsome too, not gonna lie these boys are handsome but it still doesn't change the fact that i want to slap their heads off anytime
"hi" jaehyun greeted, cheeks turning pink
"hey jae, you look... clean" i nodded at his outfit
"you too" he replied

the wedding ceremony was far from boring, as the cry baby myself, my eyes teared up throughout the whole ceremony. jungkook was seated with his family and we 3 were seated at the table not so far from them.
when jungkook's brother and his bride finally kissed, we all clapped our hands in happiness. once the sacred ceremony was done, the good stuff is now happening. after an almost 2 hours of hearing mingu's constant whines for being hungry, we finally have our food served.
as i devour my fancy looking seafood plate, i felt a finger wiping my chin
"yah look at you. you're getting messy" jaehyun wipes off the remaining stuff on my chin with his napkin
"sorry i'm just really hungry" i cotinued eating my pasta
"oh man this is great!" mingyu lets out a groan of satisfaction "i never want to leave busan ever, this pasta is so good" he took another bite of his seafood pasta
"we'll leae you here then, mingyu-ah" jaehyun said in a serious tone while mingyu stopped chewing
i shook. my head at mingyu's priceless reaction
"i-i was just kidding" mingyu defended himself

making sure that my door is locked, i decided to walk outside on the beach. the event has ended very well, we all danced on the dancefloor and took some shots. mingyu was wasted and jaehyun was also a little tipsy although we all know that he has the highest alcohol tolerance among all of us, and jungkook went to his room to rest a little bit since he was tired from the event
it's already past 9 so it's really dark, only a few couples and friends scattered here in there
i sat on the sand and took off my pair of crocs. people despises crocs for some irrelevant reasons, it's actually really comfy not gonna lie.
i listened to the beautiful and peaceful sound the sea makes. being alone makes me feel at ease and it really puts me in a calm state, like a mental refresh from everything. i slid my hands in the sleeves of my oversized sweteer but the cool breeze still beats the thickness of the fabric. i hug my legs to create more heat as much as possible
in the next couple of minutes being alone, i felt something soft draped over my shoulders. it was a blanket, i immediately looked up from my sitting form to see who it was
jaehyun
"hey" he calmly said while sitting down next to me
i hug the blanket more to my body as i acknowledged his presence with a small "hey"
"it's late, what are you doing here?"
"nothing, just want to clear my mind a bit
a moment of silence for both of us until we decided to break it
simultaneously
"somiyah"
"jaehyun hyung"
"you go first"
"no you go"
"n-no you go, mine's not important anyways" he forced
taking a deep breath, i mustered all the courage to open this problem that i have been scared to tell anyone, not even my bestfriends, nor lisa eonnie
"tell me about your plans in the future jae" i calmly say as i look at the dark waters
he looks taken aback at first but he cooled down "i think i will be following my dad's footsteps in the business world" he spreads his legs as he leans his body backward with his arms supporting him
"wow that's nice"
"why?"
i think he noticed the uncertainty laced with my voice
"i don't know what i want to do, i want to make my parents proud but i don't really know how...i-" i took a deep breath when i felt a lump forming on my throat "um, my parents were fighting before we left seoul" i choked a sob
jaehyun's hand immediately rushed to my back, rubbing gentle circles
"my mom was accused of stealing funds from the law firm, her boss was actually the one who did it but the bitch ran away. my mom would never do that. they suspended my mom's license and also cut off all of her salary. they fired her basically-" i chuckled in embarrassment but mostly from devastation
"they were also planning on pressing charges on my mom for stealing, good thing my dad came to the rescue" i tried to make the mood lighter by my sarcasm but it my emotions are stronger
jaehyun pulled me to his chest as i broke down
"shh calm down" jaehyun mumbled on my hair
"i'm only halfway through college jae, if my mom loses her job, the coffee shop is not gonna pay for my tuition" i also felt dumb for choosing a course that's not worthy
"art is not gonna take you anywhere, i don't care if it's your passion. those paints ain't gonna feed you and are not enough to build a roof over your head. keep dreaming loser"
i can still clearly remember those words. it always rings in my ears, but as much as i hate it.
