Prologue

'But Ma'am I submitted my assignment to the class rep as we were instructed.' Stanley stuttered
The cool breeze from the air conditioning unit did nothing to stop the sweat from dropping down his face as he looked for a clean handkerchief to wipe it off his oily face.
'I am afraid I cannot do anything about it. Its too late. I have already submitted the marks to the senate and the results will be pasted in another few days.' Dr Mope Morgan quipped.
He tried to see if he could say something that would make her change her mind.
'Young man, I am afraid that will be all for now. Please remember to shut the door behind you.' She said not looking up from her desk.
Stanley left without looking back at her and did as he was told.
He was afraid to make the call to the company that needed his CV for his gainful employment. He was afraid to tell his family that he won't get the lucrative job after all. He was afraid to tell his demanding fiancée that he wouldn't be able to pay the dowry for another year.
He looked up at the sky and sighed.
