"What's a shower?"
"You have got to be kidding me" I muttered
"I do not kid the you" the girl said with her head tilted
I shook my hand and rubbed my temples, this is been a long day indeed. First my parents are dropping in tomorrow -even though they said they'll be gone for three weeks-, I broke up with my lying, cheating ex and the best of all. I found a mermaid!
How am I not going insane right now? I have no clue
"How do you keep yourself clean?" I asked
"We have our own ways" the girl smirked, I shook my head and pulled the towel from behind my back
"Wrap this around your body now, you've been naked for an hour and it's printed in my brain" I muttered
"Atleast now you can picture me naked" she smiled. I-
"That's not a good thing"
"It could be in the right situation" she wiggled her eyebrows
I groaned and pushed open the bathroom door. My feet instantly met the cold gray tiles, I walked over to the shower and turned the knob. Instantly, the steaming hot water filled the room. A few pricked the side of my hand as it splattered to the floor
"Get in" I said, the girl walked over to the shower and stepped in with the towel on-
"No! Not with the towel!"
"You said put it on!"
"Not in the shower!"
"How was I supposed to know that!" she yelled, she has a point
"Sorry" I muttered and took the cloth.
"I'll leave it here, use this to wash your body, it's a soap. Use water first, then soap then water again. After that, you'll take some of this" I handed her the shampoo bottle
"Run it through your hair for a few minutes Atleast two times and Rainse your body with water again. When you're done with that, cover yourself with the towel and wrap your hair with another. My room is the last door down the hall, my name is one it so you'll see it. I'll put some clothes on the bed for you" I said, the girl nodded and I made a U turned, heading straight towards the door
"What's your name?" she asked as she picked up the soap
"Beverley, Beverly Hills" I said
"My name's Aquamarine" she smiled sweetly, her grin reached her ear. She looked terribly cute in that moment, her name's unique, I've never heard someone with that name before. It was somewhat beautiful. I couldn't help but ease my tense muscles
"Nice to meet you Aqua" I said before turning around to head to the door, the last a saw was the girl grabbing the soapy block
"Oh no, I dropped the soap" the girl pouted, I raise my brow and watched as the soap fell to the floor
A blush pulled across my cheek when she leaned down and exposed her ches-
"Okay, I'll be in my room!" I yelled and dashed out the bathroom.
My feet ran towards my room as fast as I could and I pushed the door close. My back pressed against the wooden door as my chest heaved heavily
"Oh god" I muttered under my breath. I swallowed a lump in my throat as my heart pounded against my chest. I have no idea why I was reacting like this
As much as I tried to push it aside, I couldn't deny the girl was beautiful. From her piercing green eyes to her plump pink lips. She washed up on shore completely naked, her chest was exposed but her hair covered the pink area. I tried to avoid looking but she was always in my face, her chest was perfect, her stomach was tight and toned. Thankfully, I didn't focus on anywhere below her hip, I'm sure I would have fainted again if I saw that.
I sighed and went over to my dresser, I pulled a few item of clothing out and threw it on the bed before grabbing my own towel. I was still completely soaked from the rain. I hope I wouldn't get a cold tomorrow.
It was already 12am. I groaned and walked into the shower attached to my room. I turned the knob and allowed the hot water to invade my senses. I dipped my toes in first and felt the water drench my skin.
I stayed under the shower head for a few minutes, allowing reality to soak in. I really have a mermaid in my house. But where's her tail? Doesn't a mermaid grow her tail when water touches it? Then how exactly will she shake a shower?
"Wow... You're gorgeous" I froze in my tracks when I heard a voice from behind me
"What the hell Aqua!" I yelled and covered my chest with my arms, my back was the only area exposed to her sight but I still felt self conscious
"I'm sorry I just- wow" she muttered, I could feel her eyes burn a trail into my body. A blush appeared on my cheek, oh for fuck sakes
"Get out!" I hissed
"Oh yeah! Sure, sorry" she said and ran into the other room
The burning sensation on my cheek was still there, she literally just walked in on me naked. I shook my head and finished up my shower quickly before stepping out
I threw on some clothes I had with me in the bathroom and ran a towel through my hair to dry it.
I walked over to my room and saw Aqua sitting on the bed with panties on her head-
"That's not where that goes" I chuckled
"Is it not a helmet?" she asked, I shook my head laughing
"No, you wear them to cover your... Area" I said awkwardly
"I'm... Not following" Aqua said puzzled
"I- I'm not sure how to explain it" I chuckled
"Then show me" she said. Oh my God.
I rolled my eyes and slid my shorts down a little, showing her exactly how to wear the garment. She nodded and headed into the bathroom to pull on the clothing
I hopped onto my bed and ran a finger through my hair, playing with some loose ends
"How do I look?" Aqua asked as she stepped out of the bathroom
My eyes trailed over her, she had on a grey sweatpants and a t shirt, her hair was still damp and it hung down her back. I noticed she had on a shell necklace around her neck
"What's the necklace about?"
"It belonged to my mother" she mumbled, I noticed a change in her expression. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she fidgited with the necklace on her neck
"Um... Are you tired?" I asked
"Pretty much, I haven't slept in two days" she groaned
"Why not?"
"I've been, trying to get away from my problems"
"Where do you live?" I questioned
"Atlantis, I'm actually the Princess. I was supposed to be off on my honeymoon right now but here I am, in the company of a woman" she chuckled
Did she just say Princess? Did she just say Atlantis??
"Atlantis.... Is real?" I questioned. Maybe the reality of this haven't kicked in yet.
A mermaid, a real life mermaid was standing in my room. And she's a Princess, of ATLANTIS. The city that marine biologists spent years and years trying to find, it was said that such city was a myth while others said it sunk. There's so many questions I had for Aquamarine, but for now I was exhausted
"You should get some rest" I mumbled
Suddenly she leaped forward and landed on my bed, a smile tugged across her lips and she settled into the soft pillows
"Not here, you can stay in the other rooms" I said and dragged my body off the bed
"But.. But I wanna stay here" she pouted, I couldn't deny it was cute
"And I don't know you like that to sleep with you" I said before walking over to the door
"Follow me"
I heard a groan from behind me, I chuckled and walked through the hallways, my eyes landed on a familiar door. The bed was already made, most times I'm bored around the house so I'd clean every room
I pushed open the door and Aqua slipped right in. Her eyes scanned the entire room. Her fingers trailed over the soft sheets before she turned to face me
"Goodnight Aqua" I mumbled
"Goodnight Beverly"
I smiled shyly and headed back towards my room. The deafening sound of lightening striking outside didn't startle me. I was accustomed to the harsh weather, infact I loved it.
The rain poured and beat the roof, I slipped back into my room and hopped into bed. The warm covers were pulled over me and I laid on my sides, my eyelids slowly became heavy. I guess I hadn't notice how tired I really was until now
I slowly began to drift off into a state of unconsciousness, my mind was still thinking about the raven hair girl in the other room.
I swore I saw her bleeding out on the beach, I don't know how the wound magically disappeared. I knew she had powers but was it enough to heal a wound in a few minutes?
I sighed and knew my brain was shutting off, my breathing became regulated and the unconsciousness slipped it.
Right before I dozed off, I felt a dip in the bed and a sudden warmth invade my senses.
