Randy looks at the girl grinning in front of him.
"I will go out and hir---recruit my own people."
Princess Emerald, 8 years old and 1/2.
Has no guards or personal maid.
"It's about time your mother pick some for you."
"N....not gonna happen even if you wait." A wry smile appear her face.
"Very well..."Randy puts a token in the table.
"Thanks."Princess Emerald happily kisses the token.
Randy hand over a small free pass token.
"Princess, do you know Sir Froilan?"
"Of course. Isn't he the Military Commander?"
"Personally?"
"Ah. I chat with him. Twice or thrice? A couple of times. He is my customer.A generous one."
"I see. Please refrain from involving with the military."
Randy said in a non emotional tone without looking at her as he stamp the papers in front of him.
A couple of seconds past.
"Why?"
Emerald wonder what's up.
"The King asks about you thrice."
"....about the Annual Squadron competition?"
"Two squadron compete to give the honor to your name."
Emerald stood up and play the token in her finger.
"Nah. They won't sell me out. They are good guys. And to say not to be involve with them is crazy.."
"Why?" Randy looks at her.
"Cause I can't ignore my source of income." Emerald grins and walks away.
Randy crosses his arms while watching her leave.
"Don't tell me I didnt warn you." He sighs.
'Hmmm...The King shouldn't be that interested. If he is really that curious, it'll be easier than a snap of a finger to know about me. That won't be good for me. But it also shows he is just a bit curious,nothing more. Well, besides Golden Hawk Eyed,being favored by the best knights are really something. Maybe that is what makes him curious.'
Princess Emerald is sitting on the carriage going to town.
"Why would I worry? Once he found out, he will lose interest!" She said happily
"Princess?" The carriage driver asks.
"Ah, its nothing. I am just talking to myself."
Princess Emerald smiles and forget about it already.
Bam!
"Your Majesty?" The Prime Minister frowns seeing the angered King.
"Who is blocking me?" King Terrence asked.
The Prime Minister sigh and shakes his head.
"Only two people who has power enough to block your Majesty, right?"
"I am even more curious why those two are blocking me! Why? For who?"
"Is it really important who is the Princess that the Black knight refering to?"
"Peterson, who is the black knights to us?"
"Thr strongest sword, your Majesty."
"Right. And what will happen if the sword recognized a different Master?"
"What?"
"The problem is...I am sure that no one in my daughter who are present in that event is the one they are talking about. It means.....someone I don't favor is gaining my strongest knights favor!"
The Prime Minister finally recognized the problem. He also become strange.
"The strongest sword.....if their new Master someone else to follow rather than Crown Prince Rodrigo---"
"Do you finally understand? We need to know who she is and make sure that she won't do underhanded things to overthrow Rodrigo as the heir.....I've seen alot of family being destroy because of royalty's dispute."
"......But Crown Prince is also doing his best to be closer to the black knights."
"Yes...But he is neither their friend, nor their Master. He hasn't grasp their heart." The King shakes his head. "What kind of sorcery did that Princess used to gain respect from the strongest and the most stubborn knights in the kingdom?"
"Hey? Why is this place so crowded?" The Princess asks Sarah.
Sarah sighs.
"The dam broke in the neighboring town. They are all villagers who got their houses and fields destroyed."
"What? Then why don't the Baron fix the problem? Ask for the assistance from the palace and just pay a fine every month? That way, they won't need to camp in the streets. Their some adults and small kids too."
Princess Emerald frowns.
Sarah whispers.
"The Baron and the Count are pointing fingers who are at fault and who should be fixing the problem. The dam is the Count's idea that the Baron allowed in his territory but now it is broken and made the mess. The baron told the Count he should be responsible. The Baron said it was originally the Count's fault. These people are here 3 days now and still not getting assistance. We are giving some food but we can't really give too much." Sarah frowns.
Princess Emerald looks at the children.
They are all dirty and everyone is looking down. Their head are all looking at the floor as if they are ashamed.
Princess Emerald clicks her tongue.
"They are our citizen!" She angrily stomps to the plaza where the villages are staying.
They all look at the unassuming girl with a bit refined and beautiful face.
"I am Princess Emerald. Who among you can cook?"
They all stare at her not moving.
She crosses her arms.
"Those who won't work doesn't deserve to eat!"
They all look at each other.
A peeble lady raises her hand.
"Oh. You can cook?"
Slowly hands are being raised.
"Good! Stand up! Why are you lowering your heads? You are all citizen of Larksen! Larksen will not abandon you."
They all look up at the small girl.
Inside, Emerald is crying.
'My money sack!!!!!!'
She looks at the men who are looking at her.
"I need strong men who will be carrying stuffs. Stand up and follow me. I am the youngest princess Of Larksen. Even I can make a stupid Baron and Count move so stand up! I will make sure you won't be staying in this plaza more than 2 more days."
With that said, the men gaze turn into curious and disbelief to awed and tears.
"Thank you!" They all bow to her.
"Hah...I don't know why they all bowing like that...Those knights too..."
Speaking of Knights. The soldier in the plaza also helps in carrying tents. Helping make them. Carrying cooking equipments, large cooking wares and food supply.
She also asks the towns people to donate still wearable clothes they don't be needing because the villagers doesn't have much with them.
After seeing the cooks,cooking and the men supporting the old and the children to the tents she is going to go straight to the Count's mansion where the negotiation between the Count and Baron is happening.
Bam!
"What?"
The knights with Emerald all point their sword to the Count's guqrd who run to fight them.
"What are you all doin---"
Princess Emerald is really angry.
She is scowling.
She glared at the Count who are in the middle of his meal.
The Baron too.
"Hoh....It looks like you are in the middle of your lavish meal.....WHILE PEOPLE ON THE STREET ARE COLD AND UNABLE TO FIND FOOD!"
"This esteemed...." Count doesn't know who she was.
But since she is able to move the soldier,it means she is fairly important.
"Who might you be?"
"Princess Emerald, 38th princess of Larsken! You punks!"
"Pun----" Count become enrage. 38th? That means she is not important.
He snorts.
"Princess, we have leagl ways of doing things. Leave this to us elders and go back to the palace and have some tea party."
"Are you insulting the esteemed Princess?" The soldier angrily point his sword against the Count.
"Hey! Stop that...."
Princess Emerald sigh.
She looks at The Count and the quiet Baron.
"Count....you are someone I respected......though I may not be important...I am still a princess, what will you do if I am hurt in your place?"
"Huh?"
Princess Emerald, approach the Count's guard who are not moving and just holding his sword.
She went and easily snatch the sword and made a small wound on her arm.
"You---"
"Princess---"
"Wha----"
'It hurtssssssss!!!! In the movies...they do this too but it doesn't look like it hurts much....so why is it so....'
Drip drip.
Tears are pouring her eyes.
"Count....If you want nothing to happen to you....You better hide the fact that I am hurt by your guard's sword!"
"You are....."
Baron is trembling.
He then kneeled and kowtow to the princess.
"I will follow you Princess."
"What?"
The Count has a sullen face and look at the red blood that is leaking her arms.
The blood is dripping her arms like her tears in her eyes.
He sighs.
"You defeat me." He looks at the small girl who uses her own body to threaten him.....for the citizen of Larksen. For the country.
"We will solved the issue, your highness."
Emerald nods.
Nobles are prideful creatures. Once they said it, they will do it.
She looks around.
"Then do it immediately. I told the villagers they will be going home in 2 days.So work hard!"
"Are you going to go out like that?" Baron asks.
"Huh?" Emerald looks down and see her blooded arm and .......she fainted.
