Avu's POV
I instantly sat up and found myself in the bedroom covered in cold sweat and i was shaking uncontrollably. I just had a nightmare where i heard someone calling me for help and the voice sounded oddly familiar. I took deep breaths to calm myself down and i didn't realize when tears started rolling down my eyes. I drank water from the water bottle beside me and checked the time and it was 4am. So i laid back down to try to sleep again but that voice kept echoing in my head and it wasn't letting me sleep so i kept tossing and turning and that woke sidd up
Sidd: what are you doing? (he said sleepily)
Avu: sorry i didn't mean to wake you up
Sidd: avu are you crying (he said sitting up and pulling me up too)
Avu: no no...why would i be crying (i said looking away)
Sidd: stop lying
Avu: im-
he gave me a look
Sidd: so why were you crying?
i explained to him about how i had that bad dream and how i couldn't sleep now. he held my hand
Sidd: listen it's just a bad dream...it's not real nothing will happen to anyone....just try not to think about it
he laid my head in his lap and gently caressed my hair and i don't know when i fell asleep. The next morning when i woke up i felt someone's arm on my stomach and hot breath fanning my neck. i opened my eyes and turned around and it was sidd. i slowly got out his grip and put a pillow where i was. then i went to the washroom and washed my face and brushed and made myself look presentable and went downstairs. Everyone was there except jai and reem.
Avu: where's jai and reem
Vaishu: they have gone on a walk...they texted me before they left and they left a note on the fridge
Abhi: where's sidd
Avu: still sleeping....btw when did jai and reem leave
Vaishu: around an hour ago
Avu: that's weird jaan doesn't usually go on morning walks but when she does it's never more then half an hour
Vaishu: maybe they just stopped by somewhere don't worry
after that all of us had breakfast and it had been 2 hours since jai and jaan had left and by this time sidd was awake
Jannat: guys it's been 2 hours
Vaishu: yeah now even i am getting worried
Abhi: let me try calling jai
bhai tried calling jai but his phone was coming switched off
Avu: let me try calling jaan
but even her phone was coming switched off
Sidd: guys we should inform the police
Avu: yeah you are right
Faisal: let me call my dad
all of us nodded when something clicked in my head
Avu: sidd do you think it could be (i said indicating to yesterday's events)
Sidd: shit...there is a chance (he said understanding what i was saying)
Vaishu: what are you guys saying (she said confused)
me and sidd told everyone what happened yesterday
Abhi: avu...who wants ice cream at 1 am
Avu: me (i said like a child)
Jannat: you guys did a good thing by going straight to the police station
Sidd: yeah i'm smart you know
Avu: shut up (i said slapping his arm)
then faisal came back
Faisal: guys i talked to my dad and he said they can't do anything about it until they are missing for at least 5 hours
Avu: what do we do now?
Abhi: we should call other people to see if they have seen them
Jannat: and we should go look for them
all of us agreed and after we changed and got ready we left...me and sidd decided to go to the nearby park, bhai and di were going to the college, and jannat and faisal were going to ask around if anyone has seen them. After hours of searching we got no result so we met up back at the house when suddenly my phone started ringing and it was an unknown number
Abhi: pick it up and put it on speaker and jannat record the call
both of us did what bhai told us to do
*on call*
Avu: hello (i said in a scared voice)
?: hello Ms. Avneet kaur (his voice was low and scary)
Avu: who are you?
?:very eager to know are we...but unfortunate for you....you won't know
Avu: what do you want
?: i want you
i stopped breathing for a second
?: i want you to come to the address i send...alone and your friends will be free to go
Avu: and how do i know my friends are with you and are okay?
all 5 of them looked at me and i gave them a reassuring smile
?: here
then i heard jai and reem's voice
Reem: avi we are okay but don't come here
and that's when it clicked that the voice in my dream was jaan's voice
Jai: sidd today's date is sept 3 1992
all 5 of us looked at sidd confused...what is he talking about
?: so ms. avneet kaur be at the address at 7pm ALONE...and i will let your friends go
before i could reply he cut the call
*call ends*
all of us instantly turned to look at sidd but he was gone.....we saw that he was in the kitchen with the note
Sidd: di send me the text jai sent you
di did what he said.....and he turned on my laptop and started doing something and after 15-30 minutes he finally looked up
Sidd: i have a idea on where they might be
Avu: what how (i asked surprised)
Sidd: once just as a joke me and jai had made a secret code so the date he said was the address of where they are and did you guys think that if he already texted di then why did they leave a note on the fridge...the date on the fridge was the coordinates of the place where they are and it shows that that's a old warehouse
Avu: oh
Vaishu: my
Abhi: god
Faisal: that's
Jannat: genius
Sidd: we need to go to the police...now
all of us rushed out of the house and drove at full speed to the police station
Faisal: dad we need to show you something
we showed him the recorded phone call and the coordinates and the address...he took it and rushed to the commissioner
FD: okay so there's a plan avneet you will go to the address the person sends but it will look like you are going alone all of us and a backup force will be right behind you and you will distract him until jai and reem get out then just say now and we will come in
Faisal: dad isn't that a bit dangerous
FD: yes but it's the only choice we have if we send in a police squad it can be dangerous for jai and reem
Avu: don't worry uncle i will do it
FD: you will also have to carry a gun for security purposes
i nodded
FD: guys meet me here at 6:00 and we will execute our plan
currently it was 2:00...all of us went back home
Vaishu: avu this is very dangerous
Avu: di i know but i am ready to do it for both of them because i know they would do it for me
Abhi: i am very proud of you avu
Avu: thank you bhai
Sidd: avu i need to talk to you ( he said dragging me to my room)
i know he will yell at me and tell me how dangerous it is and try to convince me not to do it....he will behave like those typical protective boyfriends....i just know it
Sidd: i am very proud of you (he said holding my shoulders)
Avu: i know- wait what
Sidd: i am very proud of you for doing this...i know it's not easy to just do this so i am very proud
i instantly hugged him
Avu: thank you so much (i said hugging him)
Sidd: for? (he said hugging me back)
Avu: for always supporting me
Sidd: i will always be there with you and plus all of us are going to be right there so you will be okay
i nodded
Sidd: i love you (he said kissing my forehead)
Avu: i love you too
and we went back outside and as the time went by i was getting more nervous by the second. Soon it was 6 so we reached the police station where we met fais's dad and he gave me a gun and taught me how to use it. then they bugged my clothes with mic's and soon i got the location so we left for there. I took sidd's bike while everyone else was in a normal car behind me. I slowly got off the bike and my heart started racing at every step i took. I made it to the door of the warehouse and pushed it open....it was very dark in there i went inside and saw someone with a black mask standing in the middle of the room and tall,fit men with weapons surrounding him and i saw reem and jai tied up in a corner looking all beat up, their hands and legs were tied with rope and their mouths were taped shut and they were covered in bruises, reem's head was bleeding and i saw a huge cut on jai's arm...my heart broke seeing them in that condition
Avu: i'm here just like you wanted now let my friends go
?: not so soon
he gestured to one of the men and the man came over to me
?: we have to make sure you really are alone
and the man started searching me and he was touching me inappropriately throughout and i wanted to beat him up right there but i couldn't risk jai and reem's lives. I felt disgusting when i felt his hands all over my body i wanted nothing more then to just run and hug sidd but i knew i had to do this i had to do this for my friends. Since the mic and gun were hidden very well the man wasn't able to find it and he went back
Avu: now let my friends go
?: what's the rush babygirl (he said coming up to me and tracing my face with his fingers)
Avu: stop you creep (i said walking back)
?: don't make me mad (he said in a threatening voice)
his arm went around my waist and he was coming closer and closer and i pushed him back. He grabbed my hair and pulled it
?: i said don't make me mad (he said in a angry voice)
i looked to the side and saw jai was fuming in anger and reem had tears in her eyes but with my eyes i gestured them to untie themselves. The guy came up to me and started kissing me or more like biting my lips and i didn't respond so he pulled away and slapped me with so much force that i fell down on the ground then he fisted my hair and pulled me up and started kissing me forcefully again. He was biting my lips, forcing his tongue in my mouth his kiss felt disgusting, rough and dirty. I looked over and saw that jai and jaan were almost at the door and jai looked at me and i know how angry he was but i begged him through my eyes to go and he just glared at me but kept moving only a few more minutes. And after few more minutes of that torture i saw that jai and jaan were out of the door the men were too distracted to notice what happened at the moment i pulled away and screamed
Avu: NOW
and instantly all the police officers rushed in with fais, jannat, di, bhai and sidd.
?: you bitch you tricked me
Avu: guess so (i said with a smirk)
?: i won't leave you
and there was chaos everywhere i couldn't tell who was hitting who and what was going on. When i felt someone hit me on the back of my head with a rod i could myself slowly losing consciousness but i forced myself to stay awake. I turned around and it was the guy with the mask i instantly punched him square in the jaw and he fell down. when sidd came up beside me
Sidd: are you okay
i nodded and then he saw the guy on the ground and sidd started beating him like anything to the point where he was about to kill him
Avu: SIDD STOP
as much as i hated that guy i can't let sidd take someone's life like that
Sidd: but avu-
Avu: sidd please (i said with a broken voice)
he got off him and turned to me when suddenly the guy got up and pointed a gun towards me and i froze there my feet weren't moving at all. And he fired the bullet right at me but just as it was about to hit me sidd pulled me so it missed me by 2 cm. And when the guy was distracted a officer headlocked him and put a gun to his head and by this time all the other men were dead. The officer slowly took off his mask and it was.....riyaz.
Avu: YOU BASTARD(i screamed at him and was about to lunge at him but sidd held me back)
Sidd: officer please take him away
and they took him away....and everyone left and it was just the gang and there i finally broke down. During this whole chaos i hadn't shed a single tear but now the tears were coming down like waterfalls and my whole body was shaking.
Avu: i-i feel disgusted..i feel disgusted sidd (sidd came over and held me i grabbed his tshirt and cried in his chest)
i looked like a mess, my face was tear stained my lips were bruised and bleeding,
Sidd: it's all okay...it's over (he said rubbing my back)
Avu: he-he touched me and h-he kis-sed me-me (i said in the middle of sobs)
Sidd: i know it's okay it's okay (he said trying to calm me down even though i know he was mad himself)
i looked in his eyes
Avu: i-i love you
and everything went black.
Sidd's POV
avu has been unconscious for 2 hours the doctor said it was concussion but that she will be fine and she should wake up soon. I was sitting beside her holding her hand the whole time. We had gone to the hospital first but they told us it was nothing to worry about and that she would wake up so we came back home and she was in her bed. While jai and reem were in the other room resting they didn't have any major injuries just a lot of bruises and cuts. I was on my phone texting maa when i felt avu squeeze my hand. i looked at her and she was awake and she tried to sit up
Sidd: don't try to sit...just rest
Avu: sidd is everyone okay
i nodded
Sidd: everyone is absolutely fine
Avu: you know the voice i heard in my dream last night...it was reem's
Sidd: oh that makes sense but everything is okay now so don't think much about it
she nodded and then everyone came into the room
Jai/Reem: neet/avi thank you
Avu: arre why are you saying thank you
Jai: you literally went through all that torture for us
Avu: you are my brother as long as you guys are safe i am okay
all three of them hugged each other and then we joined too so it was a big group hug. finally everything is alright...finally some peace
little did they know this was the calm before the storm
