Mei Chao Bing had barely stepped out of the door when a small person collided with his chest. He reflexively reached out and caught Yun Bei Fen, holding him in place. "Careful."

Yun Bei Fen looked up and his eyes lit up. "Mei Chao Bing!"

Mei Chao Bing smiled and then cupped Yun Bei Fen's cheeks, leaning down and giving him a short kiss. "I'm here. What were you running around like that for? Did something go wrong while you were practicing?" He couldn't help but furrow his brows when he thought of that possibility. Maybe he shouldn't have left him alone at this moment after all.

Hearing that question, the good mood that Yun Bei Fen had just been in after seeing his senior martial brother crumbled in the blink of an eye. He pursed his lips and furrowed his brows in annoyance. "It's that Yang Wu Huang!"

Mei Chao Bing tensed and couldn't help but hug Yun Bei Fen tighter. "Yang Wu Huang? What's with him? Did he come by? You're alright, aren't you?!"

Yun Bei Fen nodded immediately. "I am but he tried to talk to me."

Yun Bei Fen looked so aggrieved that Mei Chao Bing almost laughed out loud. He had thought that Yang Wu Huang had tried something shady but it turned out that he had just come by to spew some more nonsense. In that case, it seemed he didn't need to worry.

He patted Yun Bei Fen's head and then kissed his temple. "You did the right thing coming here. Has he left now?"

Yun Bei Fen gave a wry smile. "I don't know. I came running here when I couldn't take it anymore. Da Hei was growling at him so he didn't pay attention. It could be that he left."

Mei Chao Bing furrowed his brows. He had left Da Hei there to accompany Yun Bei Fen and protect them in case something happened. Who would have thought that something would indeed happen despite them being in the town right now?

And now, he was sure that something must've happened. After all, Da Hei was intelligent. He would be able to tell whether or not somebody meant harm or not and if what they did was acceptable or not. So if he actually growled at Yang Wu Huang, then that guy must have done something he shouldn't. Something more than just idly talking.

Anyway, there was no way to know without asking Yun Bei Fen. "Did he really just come to talk? He did nothing else?"

Yun Bei Fen pondered and then touched his own cheek. "Well, he did get awfully close and tried to touch me."

Mei Chao Bing's expression darkened. No wonder that Da Hei had reacted like that. He had known that he definitely wouldn't escalate things if Yang Wu Huang hadn't done anything. Thankfully, he had left him there.

"Well, I guess it's good that you ran away then." He brushed through Yun Bei Fen's hair and heaved a sigh of relief. In the future, he probably shouldn't let Yun Bei Fen out of his sight even while they were in the town. Even though there were no demonic practitioners around, there was still Yang Wu Huang, as well as his flying monkeys. Guarding against them was just as important.

Mei Chao Bing finally cleared his throat and led Yun Bei Fen down the corridor. "Anyway, he disturbed you while practicing, didn't he? Do you want to stop or do you want to go back and continue?"

Yun Bei Fen was torn. Originally, he had wanted to practice as much as possible so that he would be able to master the skill as soon as possible so Mei Chao Bing could be proud of him. Unfortunately, something like this had happened now. He wasn't sure if he would be able to get back into the mood just like that.

He pursed his lips and then tugged at Mei Chao Bing's robe. "Would you be angry if I didn't continue today?"

Mei Chao Bing shook his head. "Of course not. You've already done a lot today. You should allow yourself to take a break. Anyway, there's no rush. It takes some time to learn something new. You might as well stop for today and practice again tomorrow."

Yun Bei Fen nodded. "Then do we go back to the room now? What about Da Hei? Shouldn't we go and get him first?"

Mei Chao Bing glanced in the direction of the courtyard but finally shook his head. He wasn't a hundred percent sure that Yang Wu Huang would've left already. It would be the smart thing to do if he didn't want to get into trouble with Da Hei but who knew if Yang Wu Huang wouldn't try to make this matter more troublesome?

Considering the things he had done so far, he might actually provoke Da Hei to fight and then blame him for injuring him or something. Well, if he did, he'd really like to see just how he wanted to make use of that.

"Da Hei can take care of himself. Let's just go back."

Yun Bei Fen nodded and then happily followed him. Back in the room, he sat down on the edge of the bed and swung his legs, watching Mei Chao Bing sit down next to him. "Do you think we'll find something else tomorrow?"

Mei Chao Bing shook his head. "I'm afraid we won't." In fact, he was afraid that they wouldn't find anything else for quite a while. Only when it fit the other side, would there be a chance to discover something new. The longer he thought about it, the more he felt like that. "Well, it's not a problem. It's a good opportunity for you to test your skills."

Yun Bei Fen nodded. "Then ... Do you think my senior martial brother already got the message?"

"The one your Master sent for the ingredients for the sword?" He shook his head. "Probably not. He should have been quite far away for his own mission and the message will take longer if your Master doesn't know where exactly he is. So it's unlikely. But, well, maybe we're lucky and he was closer than we think. In that case, he might indeed have it already. I guess we'll see when he arrives here."

Yun Bei Fen nodded, immediately believing what Mei Chao Bing said. "Then ... What do we do now?"

Mei Chao Bing looked at him and couldn't help but lean down and kiss him again, continuing to hold him in his arms even when he stopped. "What do you want to do?"

Yun Bei Fen's cheeks turned red and he hurriedly wormed his way out of Mei Chao Bing's arms and under the blanket. "How about going to sleep? I suddenly feel very tired." Even though he said that, he couldn't help but stare at the wall wide-eyed, his heart pounding heavily.
