3rd person POV~
At Jitters~
While the sounds of coffee being made put Barry at ease after everything that happened yesterday. He still couldn't get Caitlin out of his mind as he waited in the line to get his coffee; even though his heart was crushed that didn't stop him from liking her. Nothing could break that for him; not even if she was with someone else. Barry then began to fall into a daze as he waited for his coffee to arrive; he started to think that he should have admitted to Caitlin before his heart was broken.
Sometimes Barry is just too slow...; "Um- sir? Sir? You are next in line..." The cashier said which broke Barry out of his daze; he started to order his usual which was just an Espresso and paid for his drink and decided to sit at a small round table. As Barry was sipping his hot beverage; he noticed out of the corner of his eye a beautiful golden-amber haired woman that just entered Jitters. It was Caitlin, she shined one of her bright smile that could just light up the whole coffee shop. Barry was just in awe at her beauty; it was impossible to stop liking this girl, Barry thought to himself. Caitlin started to make her way over to his table area; "Hey Barry, what's up?" Caitlin asked happy to see him
"Hey Cait, oh um- nothing really," Barry said with a bright smile
"So how was hanging out with Cisco at the bar?" Caitlin asked with a smile
"It was... eventful." Barry began and cleared his throat, "How was seeing your childhood friend?" Barry asked looking uneasy about the topic
"It was good, good to see him I mean," Caitlin said with a smile, "Is everything okay? You seem distant..." Caitlin asked looking worried
"Hey Barry!" you hear from across Jitters; which caused Barry and Caitlin to turn around to see who was calling him; it was no one other than Iris West.
"Hey Iris" Barry and Caitlin said in sync
"What's up with you two?" Iris asked with a smile
"Nothing really," Barry and Caitlin said in sync again; while taking a glance at one another
"So, anyways I just stopped to say hi; I'll leave you two alone on y'all's date then," Iris said while tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"Oh we aren't on a date- we are very much single though so... right?" Barry said awkwardly while rubbing the back of his neck
"Right, I'm single..." Caitlin said while blushing a little
"Okay, um- anyways I'll leave you, two nerds, to it, then," Iris said with a bright smile as she exited the coffee shop.
The rest of the coffee "hangout" with Caitlin and Barry was both kinds of awkward once Iris had arrived, but they both decided on shaking off the awkwardness between them both. They both shared laughs, smiles, and talks; every laugh, smile, or talk made their connection to each other much stronger than before! They both didn't want their time to end spending it with just each other; it felt so surreal just to talk to that person who understands you inside and out. It was perfect just both of them catching up with one another; until a ringing sound filled their conversation. It was Caitlin's phone going off; so Caitlin answered the phone call. "Yes, of course, I'll be right there okay bye," Caitlin said into the phone
Barry knew that Caitlin had to go based on the look they both shared.
"Barry, I'm sorry Mercury Labs needs me at the moment," Caitlin said looking uneasy; not wanting to leave
"No, it's fine I understand you have to go," Barry said with a small smile
"Thank you so much for understanding," Caitlin said with a content smile
Caitlin grabbed her items from the chair next to her, and she walked out the door of Jitters. Which left Barry all by himself which got him thinking that Caitlin said that her childhood friend was just a friend; and nothing more to her. Also that she probably just rejected the kiss after Barry had left anyways. Which made Barry's awkward smile turn into a bright joyful smile; he decided on grabbing his jacket and he rushed out the coffee shop door.
Later~
At Caitlin's house~
As night time approached Central City, Caitlin was about to watch a movie on Netflix until she heard her doorbell begin to ring which drove her attention towards the door. Caitlin then began to walk towards the door; as she twisted the doorknob back and forth until the door opened to her surprise which was Barry standing outside of it. "Hey Barry, I didn't expect you to arrive here so late or at all for the matter.." Caitlin teased "But I'm glad you are here." Caitlin said with a soft smile
"Well, I just wanted to stop by to see you..." Barry said with a bright smile
Caitlin began to smile at Barry's comment; it made her feel genuinely happy that he thought about her.
"Yeah, I do apologize for leaving like that; I did enjoy spending time with you today; so knowing that I had to leave really-" Caitlin started to rumble to herself with a soft smile on her face; but she got interrupted by Barry's sweet lips touching hers. Caitlin nor Barry could describe all the emotions in their minds at that moment, but to both of them that single kiss felt like an eternity it was perfect in every way. Sparks flew between them both; electricity shocked through both of their lips. It was like a kiss you see in the movies; every part of that single kiss put them both in a world of true happiness! Opposites do attract and it was powerful at that moment than ever...
Suddenly, everything good must come to an end, right? Caitlin gently let go of Barry's lips and took a moment to process everything that just happened. "What was that for?" Caitlin asked while blushing
"Let's just say it was the easiest way to shut you up.." Barry teased while not being able to control his smiling; it was even better than he had imagined
"Well, maybe I should talk more often" Caitlin admitted while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
Barry started to blush by Caitlin's comment; he eventually started to feel his face turn bright red. "So, um- Cait would you like to go out to dinner with me?" Barry asked while rubbing the back of his neck
"Are you asking me on a date, Mr. Allen?" Caitlin said with a smirk
"Maybe I am if you say yes that is, Dr. Snow" Barry said with a blushing smile
"Then, yes I would love to go on a date with you," Caitlin said while smiling uncontrollably that her crush just asked her out on a date.
"Great! Then it's a date" Barry said cheerfully
"Great I can't wait," Caitlin said while blushing
"Okay, tomorrow then at 7 I'll pick you up! Wear whatever you want because you look drop-dead gorgeous in anything you wear!" Barry whispered into Caitlin's ear
"Will do!" Caitlin said while blushing at Barry's comment
"I'll see you tomorrow, then!" Barry said with a wink while exiting Caitlin's house
"See you tomorrow" Caitlin whispered to herself
