"I am not wearing a slit dress nor the skin showing ones, Lilith." Melody makes herself clear as she crosses her arm at the queen of hell. Even if their statuses are far different from each other, the two actually gets along pretty well.
Even if they look close, they still hold their respect for one another. Especially Melody towards Lilith.
"Oh, please dear! Let me spoil you!" Lilith says, whining like a mother. Melody shakes her head, still a no. Why can't she spoil Charlie instead? Oh yeah; Charlie only wears tuxedos and suits. She feels comfortable in them instead but it wouldn't hurt for her to wear a dress.
"Fine, do whatever you please." Melody sighs in defeat as she rubs her face. Lilith smiles as she goes through the whole sets of dresses. The black haired girl looks up at the woman in front of her, she's kinda acting like her real mother.
Always stuffing her in these dresses so she would look pretty for their little picture frame that they keep up to everyone around them. Faking every single happiness around them, she can't even recall anytime that her parents were genuinely happy.
First of all, why did she agree to go back to this damned castle? Where all of the bullshit started. The girl looks around the room as she glares at everything in pure disgust. Lucifer is lucky that he holds something that could make her weak or she would've burn this whole castle to the ground along with hell itself.
"Here, how about this?" Lilith asks as Melody looks up at the woman. She holds up a short red dress with long sleeves that shows off the shoulders. It looks simple but it's cute. Melody nods,
"I actually like that." She answers as she stands up, Lilith smiles as she pulls out high heels and other accessories to complete the look as she hands Melody the items. Why does it seem like she's the one being celebrated? Sheesh.
The girl takes the things from the queen as she slightly bow and leave the room to get ready in the dressing room. She sets down the dress on a stool as she looks at herself in the mirror. She takes off her gloves and puts it aside and start taking her usual black dress off. Melody looks at herself in the mirror, she forgot how skinny she is. She used to starve a few days from running away from those people that tried to hunt her.
But that's not what really caught her eyes but instead; the amount of scars on her body. The ugly scars on her ankles, her wrists and her neck. Why do she bother about them anymore? These scars doesn't define who she is, she's still herself and these scars just show how strong she been her whole life.
She shakes her head and turns to the dress and start to dress herself, sits down and wears on the red high heels on her feet. Well, gotta be honest; she hates high heels. But if she start running in them, everyone should run for their lives.
Melody looks at the mirror again as she stare at herself,
'The party is tonight.' She reminds herself, the girl looks way to her hands. 'I don't want to look at anyone. Especially him.' She thought as she slowly bites down on her lip. The girl sighs and gets up, picking up her dress and her gloves; walking back into the room Lilith was in. Before she could reach for the doorknob, she can hear voices. One of them is of course Lilith herself, then Charlie and.. him.
Shouldn't the two be out to get themselves ready? The party is still in hours before it starts, why are they here so early? Melody grunts in annoyance as she rolls her eyes, holding the urge to scoff. At times like this, the other part of her hates standing around and hesitating over a stupid demon. Her body moves on its own as she grabs the doorknob and twist it open, pushing the door.
Everyone's attention is turned to her but her attention is on nobody. She walks up and stands right beside Lilith, her face already turned empty the second she walked out the door. Charlie is actually wearing a cute yellow dress that compliments her blonde hair.
"You look really pretty, Mel!" Charlie smiles, Melody only nod without moving her expression.
"You could say so for yourself too." She compliments back. Lilith smiles at the two, remembering the times Lilith had watched Melody take care of her daughter. She was so gentle despite the pain that's been on her shoulders over the years. The door is suddenly knocked on as Lilith gives permission for the person to come in, it's one of the servants.
"The party is starting very soon, your Majesty." He reminds as Lilith smiles and nods. The servant bows down and leaves, Lilith turns to Melody.
"Melody can you escort Charlie and Alastor to the ballroom?" Lilith asks, Melody nods as she turns to the two demons in front of her.
"Follow me." She says, her voice monotone as ever. She walks off towards the door with the two following close behind. Charlie is so excited as she kept on rambling on and on, but Melody knows nobody is paying attention to her since she can feel the intense stare from the red deer demon behind her.
She breathes in slowly as they arrive in front of two big doors, she puts her hands on the doors; looking at her ungloved hands and pushes it forward. The bright lights from inside the ballroom is brighter than the ones in the hallways of the castle, making Charlie squint her eyes a bit.
The princess had to admit, she haven't been to this ballroom in such a long time. She remember she used to dance around in there with Melody teaching her some moves.
The black haired girl steps to the side to let Alastor and Charlie walk in. They two did so as Melody closes the door behind them, everyone from the hotel is here; Angel, Sin, Slither, Akira, Husk, Niffty and even Vaggie.
Everyone is wearing formally, from dresses to suits. There's a few other demons all around the place, even overlords that Alastor know so well like the back of his hand. Vaggie looks up from talking to Sin and Angel towards the door, accidentally catching the attention of Charlie which the two hold an eye contact that lasted only a second as it breaks by the two looking from one another. It was either with sadness or awkwardness.
Melody looks to the side and walks off to help some of the servants with boxes and decorating the ballroom just a bit more, there's a lot of people who came earlier than expected. Charlie points towards the table full of delicious kinds of food at Alastor which the demon smile in reply and nod, letting the girl run off.
"Here, let me get that." Alastor hears as he turns to the side to see Melody picking up big boxes from a smaller demon which he thank her excessively and bows. Even in a place like this, she still have a tint of kindness and empathy in her heart.
Alastor himself didn't notice that he had been staring towards the girl until Charlie had to tap him on his shoulder to call him, the demon turns towards the blonde haired girl to see her holding a chocolate. Alastor restraint himself from scrunching his nose in disgust,
"No thank you, dear. I don't like sweets." He declines and Charlie only smile and nods in understanding, plopping the chocolate into her mouth instead. Charlie starts talking about the party as her attention goes around the ballroom but Alastor couldn't help but search around the room for the other girl.
But when he did find her, there's someone else with her. Someone he absolutely despise.
"Hello there, beautiful." Vox says as he waves, Melody who just finished putting a box on a table turns to him and waves at him casually.
"Oh hey Vox, haven't seen you in a while." She greets as she turns back to the box, opening it and getting its inside out on the table.
"Well of course you havent, sweetheart. You're too busy working with Lucifer." He crosses his arms like a child, are the two close with each other? Melody quietly chuckles and shrugs,
"It's fate. Anyways, how is your relationship with Valentino and Velvet?" She asks as she sets the box down under the table, crouching down instead of bending down.
"It's alright, I guess." Vox rolls his digital eyes and tries to sneak his arm around Melody's shoulders but he trips when a demon calls put for her help which she goes up right away.
Alastor couldn't help but smile wider towards his pathetic attempt only to fail. Vox watch as she helps a demon by holding a metal stairs as they check a speaker. He scoffs when Sin comes up and hugs Melody's from behind, making the girl deadpans.
After the demon gets down, the sound of a microphone ringing catches the attention of all the sinners in the ballroom towards the small balcony where Lilith and Lucifer is standing.
Alastor could swore he heard Melody cussing in Japanese as she disappears in a puff of red sparkly smoke and reappears right beside Lilith.
"Welcome to my castle, dear denizens of hell! You're all invited here to celebrate my one and only daughter, princess of hell and heir to the throne and her new lover — Alastor the Radio Demon!" Lucifer chuckles in the end as he glances towards Melody but it's not too visible for everyone that's down in the lower floor.
But the girl is not even looking at him as she is spacing out, dull face like always. There's a few whispers here and there but they immediately stop when Lucifer clears his throat,
"Now, let us enjoy this night to the fullest!" Lucifer announces as everyone cheers, with that Lucifer smiles his usual signature smile and turns to Melody; dropping the microphone on her hands. Before he walks away, he holds her shoulder and whispers; "Sing." It's a simple word for anyone but for her; it's forbidden.
Melody's voice gets caught in her throat as the colour drains from her already pale face. She tries to say something but Lucifer only glares down at her and leaves her on her own. Lilith smiles at Melody as she follows her husband out of there,
She looks at the microphone with shivering hands, Lucifer knows; one of her powers are Music Voice. Singing makes her powerful and it also radiaties powerful energy and every single sinner in this big ballroom expect for the clients/employee in the Hazbin Hotel are overlords.
She's not risking it. Lucifer can't do shit anymore, she's not his doll. He doesn't control her. She may not get to see her best friend but she is NOT going to use her Music Voice ability that her best friend had created for her; to he use for his own entertainment.
But, what will he do to Charlie? Will he shut down the hotel? Melody bites down on her lips but then she got an idea. If she sings with someone who doesn't have a connection with her Music Voice, it won't trigger.
Melody looks around from the top of the balcony as she spots Sin talking with Vaggie and Angel.
"May I invite Sin who's also known as The Deceiver to join her best friend for a little sing off?~" She cooes into the microphone as everyone turns to Sin, the girl widens her eye in surprise.
"Wh- Mel!" She panics as she looks up at her friend, Melody only smiles as she climbs the railing of the balcony and sits on it.
"Miss Karma takes no answers from others!" She says as she snaps her fingers and red smoke covers Sin, teleporting her right beside her.
Melody passes the microphone onto Sin's hands as a smoke summons another microphone but it's an old time microphone; its red painted metal shines under the chandelier of the ballroom. On top of the microphone, there's some sort of halos that's around a red floating star.
Melody leans in as she whispers something in Sin's ear which made her blush and denies it, stealing a quick glance at Angel.
Melody chuckles wholeheartedly, like she's enjoying herself but Sin knows it's actually a font cover she has.

"Your skin is warm like an oven, your kiss is sugary sweet.." Melody sings as she doesn't know why but have the urge to look at Alastor, which she did and to notice that he's watching her. "Your fingers feel like cotton when you put your arms around me."

"Hell, Mel! What was that for?" Sin asks her best friend but the girl only smile.
"Oh would you look at how Angel was so captivated by your voice?" Melody teases as she gets off the railing. Sin blushes as she narrows her eyebrows,
"It's not like that!" She refuses to admit, Melody fixes her dress as she looks up at Sin.
"Then tell me why doesn't your Succubus abilities work on him?" She asks, making Sin speechless.
"How did you-?" She asks, flabbergasted. Melody shrugs as she makes her microphone disappears.
"When there's love, I see it because it's the most comforting feeling to the point that it's the most painful one." Melody sighs as she walks off to get down from the balcony, Sin doesn't know what to say as she looks around but catches up to her best friend.
"I don't understand." Sin says as she catches up to Melody, but the girl shrugs.
"Then shut up and dance." Melody says as she turns to Sin, making the girl confused. The black haired girl turns walks up to Angel and Vaggie, "Hey Angel, Sin wants to dance. Can you dance with her?" She says, making Sin wanting to refuse but Angel's eyes lights up.
"Oh hell yea! I haven't danced in such a long time." He says, Vaggie laughs.
"You dance?" Angel rolls his eyes.
"Oh shutup." He says but Vaggie smiles, Angel walks up to Sin who's frozen in place.
"Have fun, Aratani!~" Melody waves, making the girl glare at her. Vaggie chuckles as she turns to Melody, seeing Akira who's standing a few feet away as he fidgets with his hands.
"You don't want to try and dance with that loser?" Vaggie points behind the black haired girl, Melody turns to see Akira who looks back but immediately looks away in embarrassment. She turns back around and slowly sighs,
"I want to punch his brains out but the sooner I forgive him, the sooner he gets out of my life." She says as she nods to herself, Vaggie smiles.
"You go knock him out." Vaggie cheers and Melody smiles,
"I'm dancing with you after, Vag." She says but Vaggie only laughs. Melody turns around on her high heels and walks up to Akira who panics when he sees her coming over.
"You better dance good or I'm throwing you out the window." She says as she holds out her right hand in invitation, Akira's red eyes lights up as he smiles.
"You can count on me." He takes her hand as they dance away. Vaggie watch the two as she crosses her arms and softly smile, guess she's on her own now.
She walks off to the side as she sits down on her own by the tables, what a sad night. Vaggie sighs as she looks down at her dress, slowly going into her thoughts but someone sits down beside her; making her look up.
Vaggie thought her eyes are fooling her but there sat Charlie. The girl smiles awkwardly as the two look away from each other.
"Al insisted that I talk with you.." Charlie starts but Vaggie stays quiet. "I'm so sorry for everything that I said to you, you know I don't mean any of it!" Charlie apologize but Vaggie looks down, her shoulders slowly vibrating. The blonde haired hell princess widens her eyes to notice that Vaggie had actually started crying.
"I miss you." Vaggie chokes out as Charlie purses her lips but doesn't hesitate to hug Vaggie which she hugs back.
Melody dances with Akira as she is passed on to Slither gracefully.
"Oh look it's the sadistic blueberry." Melody says, monotone. Slither gasps, pretending to have his feelings hurt.
"Ouch, I'm so hurt." He chuckles, as he spins Melody.
"You're annoying." She scoffs, Slither laughs.
"Dear, I been knew." He says as he let's go off her as the two bow down to each other. Melody walks off towards the drinks as she pours herself a cup of tea, not noticing Alastor that's right beside her and sipping a cup of black coffee.
"Hello, dear. Are you enjoying yourself?" His radio static fills her ears, she blinks and looks at him.
"I'm the one to be asking you that but sure, it's fun I guess." She says as she sips her tea. Alastor chuckles,
"It's a little boring if I could say, I seek for a much more better entertainment!" He says as he gestures it with his hands waving around. Melody slowly nod,
"Okay.. Why aren't you dancing with Charlie?" She asks, looking around for Charlie to see her talking and laughing with Vaggie who's also doing the same.
"I told her to accompany Vaggie, she seemed lonely." He says as he sips his coffee but stops when Melody chuckle.
"The lonely one here is you." She says as she puts down her empty cup of tea.
"Well, can you change that for me, dear?" He says as he sets his cup down too. Melody raises an eyebrow at him in question, Alastor holds his hand out to her. A tint of pink dust her face a bit as she looks at his hand, she can't refuse now can she?
"I can't promise that." She says as she takes his hand, which he pulls her right towards him making her gasp. Vox who were looking for Melody sees them as he stares in hatred,
"Dance with me, Miss Karma."
