Your POV

We all arrive at the compound, or whoever is left of us. Bruce, Thor, Natasha, Dad, Rhodey, and the raccoon, who's name is Rocket, all step into the compound. If I had to only use one word that could describe how we feel, it would be devastated. That's exactly how we feel right now because for the first time ever, we lost.

Waiting for our arrival outside of the compound is a Pepper Potts herself. She runs up to us. "Guys, what's going on? Where's Tony? I was on the phone with him a few hours ago and he said he was in space and then not even an hour before coming here, people started turning to dust." She says to us, sounding really scared and worried for Tony.

I look up at her. "We lost, Pepper," I say to her softly.

She just looks back at me, tears brimming in her eyes as I look away and walk past her into the compound as I go to my room and slam the door shut. I slide down the door and curl up as I put my head in my knees. My phone then rings and I take it out of my pocket, surprisingly it's not cracked. Then again Stark made the phone so he would make sure it's not easy to crack. I look at the caller ID to see it's Clint and I answer.

"Finally! Someone who answers their goddamn phone." Clint's voice says over the phone.

"Clint, what's going on?" I ask him.

"You tell me!" He snaps, anger filling his voice. "I was spending time with my family and then they disappeared. I looked all over the farm for them. What the hell happened?"

"We lost, Clint," I say, my voice breaking as I tell him. "Thanos did exactly what he said he would do. He wiped out half the population. Your family was part of that half. I'm sorry."

"How do we get them back?" He asks.

"I don't know," I answer him truthfully. "Clint just come to the compound. You don't have to be alone right now."

"I'm gonna find a way to fix this," Clint says, his voice dark and distant.

"Clint, please just—" I stop as the line goes dead.

I stand up, anger consuming me as I try not to break down.

"DAMMIT!" I scream at the top of my lungs and chuck my phone against the wall, still not shattering it somehow. I kick the wall and then kick my door which I get my foot caught in because it went right through the door. I pull my foot out as quickly and roughly as possible, tearing my suit around the ankles and pieces of wood cutting at my skin.

Rocket, who was passing by, peeks his head through the hole in my door. "Woah kid, calm down."

I look up at the ceiling and run my fingers through my hair, probably looking like a crazy person. "I'm being told to calm down by a talking raccoon, that's always great," I say to myself.

"You know I'm just trying to be nice. No need to be a dick about it." He says to me.

I look at him. "Sorry, Rocket." I open the door to let him in. "What's up?" I ask him as he steps in.

"Oh you know, the usual. Hearing you scream at the top of your lungs as you kick a hole through the door." He jokes which earns a little chuckle from me. "Are you alright?"

"I don't think any of us are alright, Rocket," I say as I plop on my bed.

"Fair point." He says and climbs up on the bed to sit next to me.

I pause before speaking. "My best friend is in space right now, not even sure if he... And then my other best friend confessed that he loved me before he disappeared." I say softly to Rocket as I try not to tear up again. "I never even got the chance to tell him how I feel." Rocket sits there and listens as I talk. "Uncle Buck was right. We really were oblivious."

Rocket nods. "I just saw Groot disappear in front of me and the rest of my family is up in space right now. Not sure if they are still even..." He trails off, but I know what he means.

"Who are they?" I ask him.

"Have you ever heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy?" He asks as he looks at me. I shake my head and he continues. "Well anyway, they're a bunch of idiots, but they're all I've got. If I lose them... then I have nobody." He looks down at his hands.

"That's not true," I say, causing him to look up at me. "You have me now."

He gives me a small smile. "That was so frickin' corny."

I laugh. "Yeah, I know." I smile down at the raccoon beside me. I feel like this is gonna be the start of a cool friendship.

"I really came in here to tell you that that blonde haired chick, what was her name again...?" He trails off as he tries to remember.

"Natasha," I say.

"Right, Natasha! Yeah, she wants everyone in the common room. They're probably waiting on us."

I nod and stand up. Rocket jumps onto my shoulder, which surprises me, but I let him stay.

"You might want to hold on," I warn him and then run us to the common room, where everyone is gathered.

"Whoo, Jesus, that was a rush." Rocket says and I just smile at him.

I look back to see the others staring at us.

"(Y/n), are you okay? We all heard you scream." Dad says worriedly.

"Yeah." I nod. "Yeah, I'm fine now thanks to Rocket." I give the raccoon on my shoulder a small smile before looking back at everyone's depressed faces. "So what now?" I ask.

"I'm going to run a system to count the missing," Bruce says to all of us.

Dad nods. "That's a good start."

"Has anyone heard from Fury?" I ask.

"We got some missed calls, one of them being from Maria. She was trying to contact us to see if we heard from Stark." Nat answers me. "Her and Fury were checking satellites looking for him, but when they tried to call one more time, it cut out." She explains.

"Well we got to check. See if they're okay." Rhodey speaks up.

"I'll do it." I offer. "Since I can get there faster. Just let me change." I then turn to the raccoon on my shoulder. "Rocket, you wanna come?"

"Yeah, why not." He shrugs. He hops off my shoulder to let me change.

The others start to go their separate ways.

"Nat," I call to her. The blonde-haired woman turns to me. "I need to talk to you."

She comes over to me. "What's up?" She asks.

"I uh... I was on the phone with Clint. He... he lost Laura and the kids." I say to her, tears brimming my eyes.

She pulls me close, both of us hurting for our friend. Both of us, scared how he will handle this fallout.

"We'll find a way to bring them back." She says to me as she pulls away.

I nod at her. "I'm gonna get changed," I tell her.

"I'm going to run a check on Fury's last known location." She says.

I hug her one last time. "I'm so glad you didn't disappear. I don't know what I would've done with all these testosterone around us." I say, earning a small chuckle from her.

We pull away and go off to do our separate things. I go to my room to change, but when I open the door I see Dad sitting on my bed, looking down at my phone in his hands. He's in regular clothes now. When he hears the door open he looks up.

I look at him confusedly. "Why are you on my phone?" I ask him.

"Fuck you that's why." He jokes, causing us both to laugh.

I close the door behind me and look at him. "Why are you here?"

"I wanted to know if you're alright. Are you?" He says and I give him a look. "I know, dumb question, but you screamed and I found your phone by the bathroom. You also left... that." He gestures to the hole in my door.

I look down at the floor before looking back at him. "Clint called," I tell him.

He looks at me confused. "And that's not a good thing?" He asks slowly.

"No. No, it is. It's good that he didn't disappear, but his family... they did." I say to him.

Dad nods in understanding and pats the spot next to him on the bed. I go over and sit down and he wraps an arm around my shoulder.

"We'll figure this out. We'll find a way to bring everyone back." He reassures me.

"But what if we can't?" I ask as I look him in the eyes.

"Then we have each other. I'm not going anywhere." He tells me.

I lean onto his shoulder and sigh as I take in this moment for a bit longer.

"I should change. Rocket's probably waiting for me." I say to him.

Dad nods and lets go of me. He points to the door. "I'll just—" He stops himself when I run and change into regular clothes within seconds. "Nevermind then."

I smirk at him as there's a knock at my door. Rocket sticks his head in the hole of the door.

"Kid, you ready?"

"Yeah. You got a location?" I ask him.

"Downtown in the city." He answers me.

I nod and look back at Dad and he nods at me. I open up my door and bend down so Rocket can climb onto my shoulder.

"We'll be back with whatever we can find," I tell Dad.

He nods and I take off to the city. I stop once we're at Fury's last known location. We look around at the city to see it on fire. There are abandoned cars everywhere and people running in the street, screaming.

"This city turned into a hellhole." Rocket mutters and I nod in agreement.

I feel a gun press onto my back and I freeze.

"Give me your wallet, keys, or anything else that's valuable on you." A man says from behind us.

I look over my shoulder to see a gang behind me. Some with bats, others with guns.

I look at Rocket and we share a look. "Is this guy for real?" Rocket asks.

I shrug and turn around to face the gang members. "Do you guys even know who I am?" I ask them.

The one holding the gun at me, that looks like the leader too, recognizes me. "You're one of those supers." He says.

"Yeah so you might want to get lost, buddy." Rocket says from my shoulder.

The leader looks dumbfounded. "Did that raccoon just talk?"

"Yeah and you might wanna run because he hates being called that so you just pissed him off," I warn them.

The rest of his gang ready their weapons. "Not a chance."

I shrug. "I warned you. Rocket." I say to the raccoon.

He smiles and jumps on the leader's face, punching the daylights out of him before going to another gang member and doing the same.

"Get it off! Kill it!" They yell as I just laugh and watch the scene play out in front of me, knowing Rocket is having a blast too.

He then pulls out a gun he had on his back this whole time and I didn't even notice. The gang members look at him in fear.

"Wanna call me a raccoon again?" He threatens and they shake their heads. "Good. Now scram!" He yells and they bolt down the street, not looking back once.

I laugh and give him a fist pump as he places his gun back on his back. "You know they're gonna be more problems like this until we get a hold of what's happening," I tell him.

He nods. "Let's go find that Fury guy you guys were talking about."

We walk down the street, looking for any signs of Fury. I then come across an SUV with SHIELD plates on them.

"Found his car," I call out to Rocket as I look inside to see it's empty.

"Yeah and I think I found something better." He says from behind the vehicle.

I come around the vehicle to see what he found. He holds up a pager and I take it. It has a red-blue-and-gold star insignia.

"Seems to be sending some sort of distress signal." He tells me.

"Bruce might want to have a look at it," I say to him as I put the device in my pocket.

"So where's this Fury guy?" He asks.

"He's gone. And so is Maria Hill."

Had to put a chapter in between since there is a three-week difference from Infinity War to Endgame.
