The sound of an alarm clock penetrated through Yoongi's room in the early hours of the morning. Groaning as he put his pillow on his face, he reached over and turned off the alarm clock's obnoxious ringing sound.

After a couple of seconds, he yawned while stretching his arms above his head and went over to his bathroom to get ready for his busy Saturday.

The water made a loud "shhh" sound as he turned the faucet in order to get the hot water running in the tub. His unshaven appearance in the mirror made him gag to himself since his dark under eye bags were quite noticeable.

Finally when the shower was warm enough, he hopped in, sighing in relief as he felt the steamy water cascade down his back.

His schedule for the day was pretty routine, but busy nonetheless. His weekends were spent either working at the café with Seokjin, Namjoon, and Jimin, or at basketball practice with Jungkook. Today, he was working a whopping eight and a half hour shift at work.

Even though it was a pretty long day, he still looked forward to it. His three close friends from school work there too, making the job much more fun and enjoyable. Plus, it was a cute little café in their neighborhood, and never got an obnoxious amount of costumers like a Starbucks or another popular chain coffee place.

It was overall a very homey and cozy environment that radiated good vibes from its simple interior. The sense of character and uniqueness also made it special from other coffee shops in the neighborhood.

While squeezing out the last of the shampoo, Yoongi thought about what times he would even be available to work on the project with Hobi.

Work took up a lot of his time aside from school, working about four days a week. Not only that, but basketball practice was nearly every day, either after school or on the weekends; not including games against other schools.

Basketball has always been a huge part of Yoongi's life. Ever since first grade, he started playing at his elementary school and was determined to continue it for as long as he lived.

As a little boy, he always skimmed through sports magazines just for the basketball section, and read it for hours on end.

The basketball stars that he constantly saw on television as well, always scoring points with high jumps and slam dunks, uplifted him to continue playing and never give up on his dream.

All the practice over the several years paid off well, as he was well-known as a star captain amongst his teammates.

The only thing that sometimes discouraged him was Lee Chul, also known as one of the best players on the team. Chul was one of the few reasons how their school often won games against other schools, since he consistently scored points every round with his sharp eyes and quick movements.

Yes, Yoongi was grateful that his team had such an amazing player on the team such as Chul, but his sportsmanship wasn't as astounding as his technique.

Chul always stuck his pointy, sharp nose in the air, acting as if he was superior to everyone else on the team, just because of all the praise he received for his talent. Even though he may come off as charming or endearing at first sight, he was nothing like the sort.

Yoongi could never once remember one time where Chul was actually polite to him, always finding a minor imperfection to pick on.

Hey, watch your dribble

You're running a bit slow

Stop losing focus on the ball

Most of the time Yoongi wasn't even doing half of the things he's accused him of, which aggravated him to say the least.

However, he never let small things like this get to him, because at the end of the day, Yoongi was a skilled basketball player whose hard work always paid off. Along with that, Yoongi was actually supportive of his teammates, always giving them high fives or side hugs after every game. For these specific reasons, his teammates all chose him to be team captain, even though Yoongi insisted someone else would be better at the responsibility. The fact that Yoongi was team captain as well infuriated Chul, since Yoongi didn't even want that place of superiority in the first place.

It was just good sportsmanship, since that responsibility also comes with being the team captain.

And whenever he was told to teach his teammates specific strategies to master a move, he was always patient as well, which earned him respect and admiration.

Even though Chul was quite unpleasant and rude to everyone, he took his anger out on Yoongi the most.

Since Yoongi was arguably one of the most gifted among their team, Chul often let jealousy take over, yearning for that same attention that Yoongi constantly received.

Chul liked to appear confident, and higher than the rest, because he wanted that same undying support from his teammates.

What angered him the most was that Yoongi was so humble about all the attention, making it look like it came so easy.

Because Chul's mindset was that if he wasn't the best, then he was useless.

Turning off the water, Yoongi stepped out to grab a towel from his counter, shivering while doing so as the cold air hit his wet body.

After drying off, he ran the towel through his hair in order to dry more quickly, before continuing to get ready for work.

As he walked into his room from the shower, a notification buzzed from his phone on the desk.

A shocked expression suddenly took over Yoongi's face as he saw that a text notification from 'Hoseok' appeared on his lockscreen.

Quickly swiping up to view the texts on his phone, he saw that he had just asked about what days for the project best worked for him.

Hoseok
hey Yoongi! I was just wondering what days for the project work best

Yoongi
sundays, mondays, and wednesdays are my best days

Hoseok

                                                                                                                                                                                      Yoongi
Ill check my schedule and let u know

Putting down his phone, Yoongi took off the towel and ran his hands through his hair letting out an exasperated sigh.

"ughhhhhhh I don't have time for this stupid project!!" Yoongi said as he ran his hands down his face.

I'm already busy enough without having to deal with this, he thought as he was very annoyed since he already had a lot on his plate, not mentioning the amount of pressure being a team captain put on you.

In order to keep that position, he also had to maintain good grades in school, only doubling his stress and workload.

"Hey, you good in there?" his older brother, Geum-jae, asked with a concerned look on his face as he peaked his head through the door.

"Yeah I'm fine, but do you mind leaving? I'm not in the mood to talk to anyone right now," Yoongi said with his eyes closed as he folded his arms on his chest.

"Seems like you're never in that mood, but 'kay," his brother retorted snarkily causing Yoongi to glare at him and send a pillow his way.

Geum-jae was quick though, and dodged the flying object while closing the door before the pillow could hit him.

So much for being a basketball player, Yoongi thought to himself

Yoongi entered the café about half an hour early as usual, since he liked to talk to his friends beforehand.

As he headed towards the backroom to set his belongings down and put on his apron, he saw Seokjin there as well.

"Oh, hey Yoongi! Jimin and Namjoon are at the front," he said while patting Yoongi on the back.

Grimacing from the unexpected slap on the back, Yoongi finished tying the back of his apron and walked to the front of the cafe to meet his two other friends.

"YOOONGIIII!!" Jimin shouted with the biggest smile on his face as he rushed over and squished Yoongi in a big hug.

"Ack! Nice to see you too, loser," Yoongi said through small laughs as he pat Jimin's head.

"Yoongles, I'm surprised you got up this morning," Namjoon teased.

"Barely."

When Jimin finally let go of Yoongi, he rushed to the back storage room to get a few things before their shift started.

Their shift started out pretty slow, since the café was only a local one among many, but as the day went on more people came to get a coffee while on their own break from their jobs.

"One medium matcha green tea latte for Karen," Yoongi called through the coffee shop.

A tall middle aged woman with short blonde hair walked off with her drink without any sort thank you or gratitude to Yoongi.

"Sheesh she really was a Karen," Seokjin quietly whispered to Yoongi as he finished making a customer's latte.

Yoongi laughed at Seokjin's comment. It's always very entertaining to work with Seokjin, since he's constantly making savage comments at customers; it was practically a comedy show.

"Hey, Namjoon will you pass me the whipped cream?" Yoongi asked

"Sure thing," he responded as he tossed the bottle across the room, which Yoongi successfully caught.

Topping off the hot chocolate with a perfect swirl, he handed the drink to a little girl with a sweet gummy smile.

"Thank you!" she said with a high pitched voice and giant puppy eyes that sparkled under the café's fairy lights.

Yoongi smiled once more at the girl before returning to his job, seeing that Namjoon, Seokjin, and Jimin were all watching with "awww" expressions on their face from the pure encounter with the little girl.

"She so was adorable, I'm UWUing," Jimin said.

"I agree, but who the f*ck says 'uwu' out loud?", Yoongi said armscrossed while giving Jimin a very concerned look with a quirked eyebrow.

"People who watch too much anime," Namjoon laughed off, showing off his dimples.

"No argument there," Seokjin added on.

Yoongi just shook his head amidst laughter, continuing to take orders from customers who were coming in and out of the cafe.

The flow of customers was slowing down a bit, since it was it was coming  to nighttime. Releasing a tired yawn, Yoongi ran his hands through his hair and looked at his wrist to check the time.

"7:00pm, two more hours guys"

"I'm ready to collapse on the floor," Seokjin said.

"Ummm, maybe don't do that. I spilled coffee on it earlier," Namjoon said with an apologetic look on his face as he scratched the back of his head.

"You clumsy bi-", Yoongi was about to finish saying but then noticed that a customer had just entered through the door, quickly rushing to take her order.

"Hi, can I just get a small Earl Gray tea please?" she politely said with a soft tone.

"Sure! That'll be $2.50," Yoongi replied while ripping out the receipt from the register.

"Thank you!"

Yoongi went to go make the tea, as Namjoon took over the register to collect more orders.

There wasn't a specific process to how they ran things, it was quite spontaneous but they handled it professionally to maintain order.

Whenever someone had to leave the counter to make a drink, another person quickly took over. They were used to this way of working, and continued the said system.

The three boys kept on working like this, gradually growing tired as their yawns became more frequent.

"Café closes in fifteen minutes!" Seokjin projected through the cafe to the few remaining customers, who were mostly old business man stopping in for a coffee from a long day at work.

"I'm exhausted, I might make myself a coffee," Jimin said while yawning.

"Would you mind making me one too, Jimin?" Yoongi asked, as he desperately needed one to stay awake.

"Sure thing Yoongles," which made him giggle since he said the pet name.

Yoongi let out a soft chuckle and started cleaning up the empty tables as the last customer finally left. He put up the "closed" sign on the glass door, and started to gather the rest of his things before leaving.

"Aaaaand here's your coffee!" Jimin said as he handed Yoongi his requested coffee.

"Thanks Jiminie!" he said while gulping it down.

Caffeine was vital for him in order to drive home, as he didn't want to risk getting in an accident of some sort.

After wiping down the tables, sweeping the floor, and cleaning the utensils they had used throughout the day, Yoongi took off his apron and put on a hoodie while waving bye to his friends.

"Bye Yoongi Boongi!" Namjoon shouted, as he tossed the keys to Seokjin for him to lock up the place when he left.

While unlocking the car door with his keys, the car headlights lit up with a quick bzz sound.

Sliding in the driver's seat while putting his coffee in the drink holder, he started the car and put on some music just to ensure that his eyes would stay alert at the late hours of the night.

Yoongi walked up the house doorsteps, while fumbling with the house keys in his hands then finally unlocking the door, welcomed with a sweet aroma of freshly cooked dinner.

"Hey Yoongi, we cooked some pasta for you, okay? It's on the stove when you're ready!" his mom called from the kitchen.

"Thanks mom," Yoongi said with a smile while taking off his shoes and walking over to the kitchen; to say he was hungry was an understatement since he hadn't eaten breakfast.

He grabbed a plate of pasta and gobbled it down quickly, his stomach growling in the process.

••••

Exhausted from the day at work, Yoongi climbed into his cozy bed sheets while cuddling a stuffed animal, and dozed off to sleep.
