"NO, NO, NO, NO! You killed him! Now we have to restart the mission or suffer the consequences!" Roy yells at me.
"I didn't think he would kill him though!"
So we're playing Detroit Become Human in our shared college dorm at NYU. I just got Connor killed in the interrogation room.
Roy sighs. "How about we stop playing for right now and come back to it later?"
"Yeah." I nod in agreement and turn the console off. "What do you suggest we do?"
"Disney marathon?"
"Did I ever tell you how awesome you are?"
Roy looks up as he thinks. "No. Never think you have."
I smile at him as I lay on my bed while Roy is by it on the floor. I play with his hair as we watch Tangled. We sit there and watch the movie and get to the part where they are seeing the lanterns and the song 'I See the Light' is about to come on. All is peaceful until at that moment a portal opens up in front of the TV. Roy and I immediately jump up. Roy grabs his katanas from where he put them on the wall and gets into a fighting stance as I ready my fists. A man with a red cape comes in through the portal.
"(Y/n) Rogers, Roy Jones." The man says as he walks into our dorm. "My name is Doctor Stephen Strange. I need you two to come with me."
Roy and I share a glance as we lower our guard just a bit, but we are both thinking the same thing.
"Oh my Thor you look like Sherlock Holmes," I say in awe.
Doctor Strange looks at me very confused, not having the slightest clue what I'm talking about.
"What exactly do you need us for because we were kinda in the middle of a Disney marathon and we're missing Rapunzel and Flynn singing 'I See the Light.' Which, by the way, we have been waiting to sing." Roy says.
"We need your help. The fate of the universe is at stake." Strange says.
"Who's 'we'?" Roy and I ask in unison.
"Hey (Y/n), Roy." Bruce steps out from behind Strange.
"Sup lovebirds." Tony steps out from behind Bruce.
Roy and I stare at Bruce.
"Bruce." We say softly.
He comes over and hugs me. He seems scared and I look over his shoulder at the rest of them and give them a confused look. He then lets go and hugs Roy.
"So I don't get a hug?" Tony asks in mock hurt.
"Shut up, Shellhead," I say and pull him into a hug. "I thought you were in the park with Pepper," I say as we pull away.
"I was until the wizard came to me and now we're here." He replies.
I nod and look back at Doctor Strange. "So what now, Sherlock?"
"Follow me." He says and turns to walk through the portal with us following behind him.
He closes the portal once we all come through.
"Woah," I say as I look around in awe.
"Where are we?" Roy asks.
"The Sanctum Sanctorum. One of the many Sanctum's for the Mystic Arts." A man answers as he walks up to us.
"And you are?" Tony asks.
"That's Wong. He helps me protect the Sanctum." Strange answers.
Something just dawns over me and I start to panic. "Wait, what about my—"
"My magic is blocking the signal on your cuff." Strange answers, already knowing what I was gonna ask.
I sigh in relief and calm down. "Oh jeez, you just saved my ass right there. Thanks."
Strange nods and Tony, Roy, and I take a seat on the couch while Bruce stands by Wong and Strange. Bruce then explains to us what's going on and once he's done Wong explains the Infinity Stones to us. He uses magic to show us the universe and five out of six Infinity Stones.
"At the dawn of the universe, there was nothing. Then, boom! The Big Bang sent six elemental crystals, hurtling across the virgin universe. These Infinity Stones each control an essential aspect of existence."
"Space. Reality. Power. Soul. Mind. And Time." Strange says, each stone lighting up as he names them. He makes his necklace open which reveals the Time Stone that emits an emerald light.
"Tell us his name again," Tony says to Bruce.
"Thanos. He's a plague, Tony, (Y/n), Roy. He invades planets. He takes what he wants. He wipes out half the population. He sent Loki. The attack on New York, that's him." Bruce explains to us with a worried face.
"This is it..." I hear Tony mutter to himself. "What's our timeline?" He asks as he gets up from his seat.
"No telling. He has the Power and Space Stones, that already makes him the strongest creature in the whole universe. If he gets his hands on all six stones, Tony..." Bruce says as Tony walks around.
"He can destroy life on a scale hitherto undreamt of." Strange finishes as Tony leans on a weird cauldron, stretching.
"Did you seriously just say 'hitherto undreamt of'?" Tony asks.
"Are you seriously leaning on the Cauldron of the Cosmos?" Strange retorts.
"Is that what it is?" Tony asks and Strange's cloak slaps his arm.
Tony stops stretching as Roy and I snicker.
"I love that cloak," I say out loud.
Tony gives me a look before looking back at Strange. "I'm going to allow that," Tony says. I pat Roy's leg, indicating him to get up and the both of us stand up and go beside Tony. "If Thanos needs all six, why don't we just stick this one down the garbage disposal?"
"Yeah. Why don't you just destroy the damn thing?" I ask, agreeing with Tony.
"No can do." Strange replies.
"We swore an oath to protect the Time Stone with our lives," Wong says to us.
"And I swore off dairy, but then, Ben & Jerry's named a flavor after me, so..." Tony says, causing Roy and I to roll our eyes.
"Stark Raving Hazelnuts." Strange says.
"It's not bad," Tony replies.
"A bit chalky," Roy says, which earns a look from Tony, but Roy just shrugs.
"A Hunk of Hulk of Burning Fudge is our favorite," Wong says.
"Nah, Shrouded Shadow Cookie Dough is better," I say.
"Those are a thing?" Bruce asks.
"Shrouded Shadow?" Roy questions.
I shrug. "People love their alliteration. The Shrouded Shadow Speedster is what people call me."
"Whatever. Point is, things change." Tony cuts in.
"Our oath to protect the Time Stone cannot change. And this stone may be the best chance we have against Thanos." Strange says to us sternly.
"Yeah, so conversely, it may also be his best chance against us."
"Well, if we don't do our jobs."
"What is your job exactly? Besides making balloon animals." Tony says, condescendingly.
"Tony!" I scold him and elbow his side.
Strange however, remains calm as he answers. "Protecting your reality, douchebag."
"Okay, guys. Could we table this discussion right now? The fact is that we have this stone. We know where it is. Vision is out there somewhere with the Mind Stone, and we have to find him now." Bruce says.
Tony, Roy, and I all exchange glances and take a sharp inhale of breath. "Yeah, that's the thing." The three of us say in unison.
"What do you mean?" Bruce asks.
"Two weeks ago, Vision turned off his transponder. He's offline." Tony responds.
"What?" Bruce asks, unbelievingly.
"Yeah," Tony says.
"Tony, you lost another super bot?"
"I didn't lose him. He's more than that. He's evolving."
"Who could find Vision, then?" Strange asks.
Tony looks at me and we share a glance. "Shit." I hear him mutter to himself before turning back to us. "Probably Steve Rogers."
