I could not sleep at all.
I couldn't stop thinking about Cesar.
Was he really going to join the Santos?
My alarm clock interrupted my train of thoughts.
Monse's eyes flutter open as the sunlight hits her face.
"You're already awake" She laughs sitting up on the bed.
I give her a smile before letting out a yawn.
"You sure you still want to this?" I ask hoping we wouldn't have to go over to Cesar's.
"Yes Alma. This is serious" Monse sighs as she gets off the bed.
As she left to go to the bathroom. I pulled out my phone to see if Cesar had replied to any of my messages.
He didn't.
He just left me on read.
"This dick" I whisper throwing my phone on my bed.
"What did you say?" Monse asks peeking her head out the bathroom.
"Nothing" I smile.
Okay now this was starting to get on my nerves.
For breakfast Dad made us scrambled eggs with toast.
"This is amazing. Thanks Gustavo" Monse smiles trying to eat quick as she could.
"Its just egg and bread" Dad whispers looking at her confused.
Monse begins to motioning me to eat quicker.
"You guys alright?" Dad asks still confused.
"Yeah. She's just excited to go over to Cesars" I awkwardly smile.
Dad gives us a smile before walking off.
"Monse calm down" I snap. "Cesars not going anywhere"
"I know. I'm just really nervous and angry" She sighs.
"I am too" I whisper.

A couple blocks of walking we finally reached Cesars road.
We were couple of houses away from his.
"The boys say they'll meet us there" Monse whispers as she puts her phone back into her pocket.
I give her a nod.
"You ready?" She asks.
Yes I am ready. Ready to shout at Cesar.
I give her a nod and she places a hand on my shoulder.
"Don't worry" She whispers.
I wasn't worried about confronting Cesar. I was worried about confronting him infront of the santos.
After what they did to Latrelle I saw them differently now.
Yes the guys I knew since I was a kid.
My second family.
I hate them now.
If Cesar becomes one of them. I'll hate him too.
Me and Monse begin walking.
A few more steps and we'll be right infront of their house.
I watched as they sat in the front yard.
"Ruby and Jamal said they'd be here" Monse sighs as she begins texting on her phone.
A sudden movement in the bush caused my heart to race.
"Monse" I whisper as we begin walking backwards.
Seconds later Ruby and Jamal jump out the bush causing us to scream.
"You idiots" I sigh as u watch the boys high-five.
Monse shakes her head.
"Come on" She whispers as we begin to walk after her.
Ruby and Jamal abruptly stop.
"Oh we're not going anywhere" Jamal smiles.
"Yeah we're her for moral support" Ruby adds causing Monse to let out a huge sigh.
They both slowly walk back into the bush.
"Guess it's just us two" I sigh as we begin walking on the front yard.
I follow Monse and she walks up to Cesar.
He was sat on the couch.
"We need to talk to you" Monse says crossing her arms.
"I'm listening" Cesar sighs not making eye contact.
The santos all look up staring at her and Cesar but Oscars eyes were stuck on me.
"In private" I say.
"We could go inside" Cesar says causing Oscar to fake cough.
Cesar looks down before looking back up at Monse. A smile grew on his face.
"But er if you wanna sit on my face you gotta put that mouth on pause so I can concentrate" He smiles causing all the guys to laugh.
Me and Monse stood there in shock trying to comprehend what just happened.
"Cesar what the fuck" I whisper.
His smile fades away when he notices my anger.
"I don't know what's gotten into. You didn't tell me you were joining this stupid gang" I scream causing all the guys to toughen up.
"Come on Alma let's go" Monse whispers trying to pull me away.
"Cesar you're my best friend. My-" I snap.
"Boyfriend? We're done" Cesar shouts before walking off.
I just stood there not knowing what to do. The breakup wasn't real to us of course but to everyone it was.
By 'we're done' he meant our friendship.
"Cesar" I stutter as my voice begins to break.
Oscars face expression changes as he sees me trying to hold back my tears.
"Alma" Monse whisper grabbing my hand.
She drags me away as Oscar runs after Cesar.
"Cesar is dead to all of us" Monse whispers as we walk away.
Ruby runs out the bushes and pulls me into a hug.
"I'm so sorry" Ruby whispers.
"No. He doesn't get to breakup with me. I break up with him" I whisper wiping away my tears.
"Who the hell does he think he is" Jamal sighs pulling me into a hug.
