The extent of my sadness,
goes further than the silk road.
It puts me in the state of drowsiness
and leaves me no antidote.
It's more than just a slice,
it's the every breath I take.
The delicate skin, to be precise
is the sow that I rake.
I am consumed by the urge,
to inflict multiple wounds.
It is the physical pain that helps me dodge
the internal monster that croons.
No, I do not have schizophrenia,
but depression? Maybe yes.
Every night it gives me paranoia
so I stare up the ceiling in a daze.
When I go to school, people notice
the dark circles that plagues my skin.
It makes my heart squeeze in anything but bliss,
so I shy from the eyes that has me pinned.
"Are you okay?" they would ask.
"Of course," I would lie.
I have to keep my mask
so they won't send me away in a blink of an eye.
I'm more than okay;
I'm absolutely fine.
As long as the blade is here with me every day,
my inner demon will be kind.
