A/N - Set before Chandler's death.
You had been failing English Literature as of recent, and your teacher, trying to be nice, set you up for tutoring with another student who was doing particularly well, extra credit for her. You went to the library around 4pm to meet the mysterious tutor.
"Y/N, right?" She called out from a table.
"Y-Yeah, you're my tutor right?" You asked, walking closer and standing around nervously.
"Mhmm, let's get on with it then." She gestured to a seat.
"I didn't catch your name by the way.." You sat down and asked.
"I didn't throw it, but, if you must know, it's Heather." She answered as though it were a chore.
"That's a lovely name." You complimented
"Thanks, so, what about Moby Dick don't you understand?" She clearly didn't care for small talk.
She tutored you for about an hour, before deciding it was enough for the day, and you'd actually enjoyed it. She was fun to be around and the two of you got along like a house on fire. About 20 minutes in to it, she actually began to warm up to you a little.
"I guess we're done here, you seemed to get it pretty easily. How come you needed tutoring?" She questioned curiously.
"Ah, well, I just find the teacher super boring and sleep through her class.." You admitted, laughing a little.
"Jeez, you can't sleep through classes. You'll never pass!" She whisper shouted.
"Alright, keep your voice down. We'll get kicked out. Anyway, I can't pass them, but who cares." You responded nonchalantly.
"I do. I'm gonna make sure you're awake for the whole class next time." She retorted, determined.
"And how're you gonna do that?" You asked, not convinced.
"I'm gonna hit you with my wooden ruler every time I see you zone out." She responded, seriously.
"Haha, I'd like to see you try." You teased.
"Watch me." She said.
And so, the next day, you turned up to your English class, prepared to sleep through yet another boring hour. As you began to drift off, you felt a sharp pain on the back of your head. It was Heather.
"You weren't joking, we're you?" You asked, annoyed.
"Nope. You're gonna stay awake." She answered, matter of fact-ly.
"What do I get if I do?" You responded teasingly.
"Knowledge." She gave you a funny look, as thought that was obvious.
"Yeah, I don't care. Incentivise me." You retorted, bored.
"What are you, 6?" She sarcastically joked.
"Yup." You responded.
"Fine, you stay awake without me hitting you again and..",
She took a minute to think.
"You can come round to my place for a movie night." She said.
"Sounds like a good deal to me. When?" You were now grinning happily.
"Friday night alright for you?" She asked.
"Yup, see you then." You confirmed.
"You've got to stay awake first!" She whisper shouted in your ear.
"I will, I will." You answered, tired.
And true to your word, you stayed awake, took notes, actually learned.
"I'm impressed, I'll see you Friday night, after school, we'll go pick up some videos." She told you.
"Sounds good to me." You grinned triumphantly as you walked to your next class.
