After Marinette has introduced me to just about everyone, I was left with Juleka and her friend, Rose. We were chatting together, they were asking me about my life back home, getting to know one another.
Matthieu was talking to a girl named Adèle. Looks like someone's got a crush.
Finally, something I can tease him about.
I hurriedly took out my camera and snapped a photo of them both, thinking of giving the film to Matthieu when we get back to the house.
Once I snapped the photo, Rose looked at me confused, then I pointed at my brother and Adèle. While I was pointing to Juleka and Rose how my dear brother is acting like towards Adèle, we suddenly heard someone call her name from the entrance of the boat.
"Hold on, I'll go check who it is. I bet you're gonna love it." Juleka got up and walked towards the entrance of her boat.
"So, Juleka told me you and Luka got along really well yesterday." Rose, out of nowhere, said.
"I-I guess. I mean he's pretty cool, I guess?"
"You guess? Well, do you like him? Like like-like him?"
"Rose! I only met him yesterday!"
"Oh, come on. Like that's gonna stop anything. Every heard of coup de foudre ?"
"Désolée, Uhm... Coup de foudre ?"
"Well, it translates to lighting but we use it as like love at first sight, because of the feeling that we get, it's like getting struck by lighting." She explained.
"Rose!" I lightly slapped her arm.
She laughed, then quickly noticed Juleka coming back with Luka. Rose quickly took notice of Luka placing a finger over his lips, telling her to not say anything about him to Angèle.
"Well, it happens, you know? It could surprise you, you never know if this coup de foudre of yours is just right in front of you, or maybe right behind you." She gave me a wink.
All of a sudden, I felt a sudden force on my shoulders, making me jump and scream out of surprise.
"Holy shit, what the fuck was that for, you fucking scared me!" With hands covering my face, I screamed at the person who scared me, still not knowing who it was.
Then, I heard a laugh from both Juleka and Rose, and a laugh that sounded familiar.
"Mon dieu, I didn't know you would react like that!" Luka said in between laughs.
I blushed seeing Luka right in front of me.
"Wahh connard !!! Putain, Luka, you literally scared the shit out of me!"
"Ohh that was such a cute scream." Luka pinched my cheeks.
"Stop it!" I slapped his hand away from my face. In return, he slapped my hand.
Juleka and Rose watched Luka and I's interaction with amused looks.
"Okay, okay, stop it, you two! You babies, oh mon dieu." Rose
"Oh, Luka, since you're here, do you guys wanna play a song? I can gather up everyone in the band." Juleka said.
"Yeah, sure, I'm down, but if only Luka sings as well." Rose said.
"What? Dude, are you serious?" Luka looked at Rose.
"Come on, Luka, just one song." Juleka pleaded.
"Fine, fine, but I'll choose the song I'm gonna sing."
With that, Juleka and Rose ran off to look for the rest of their band and to prepare their instruments and the stage, leaving me alone with Luka.
"So, you guys got a band? That's pretty cool."
"Yeah, they named it Kitty Section. We have a couple of gigs here and there, post a couple videos online. It's fun, also people don't actually know it's us, because we have masks on when we perform."
"Why the masks? Well, that was my only request in the band. They want me to be in their band and write a couple songs for the band to play. When it comes to my songs and my singing, I'm not the most confident. I mean, my songs get kind of personal and I don't really want people to see me differently once they start to understand the song. As for my singing, I just don't think I'm really good at it, I'm more confident with just playing the guitar. "
" I understand. As a song writer myself, I get it. As for you singing, if it helps, I think that when we sang together yesterday, I thought that you had a really good voice. Topping off Alex Turner. "
" Woah, Alex Turner, I don't think I can beat Alex Turner's singing."
"Yeah, you're right, but, still, I think that your voice is just as good as his, and I could listen to it all day." I gave him a smile.
Luka smiled back, feeling more confident with singing.
Rose and Juleka then came up on stage.
"Hey, what's up, everyone? We've got a couple songs we want to play for you guys!!"
"Looks like I gotta get on stage, then."
Luka grabbed his guitar, and gave me a small smile before hurrying off to the stage, then plugging in his guitar.
He then played a chord, then soon, Juleka joined in with her bass guitar, and Ivan began to play a beat. Rose then started singing a song.
They continued to play a couple more songs.
After four songs, Rose then announced that Luka will be singing a song too. She turned her back to the audience to ask Luka what song they were gonna play.
Luka thought for a second, remembering the conversation that Angèle and him had just a moment ago. "Hmmm, maybe something by Arctic Monkeys," he thought. He whispered the song to Rose and the rest of the band.
Ivan then played a beat, Luka began to walk forward as he played a familiar rhythm. Once he got to the front, Rose began to repeat the rhythm Luka was playing, Juleka adding her bass to the song.
Then, Luka began to sing.
Have you got color in your cheeks?
Feeling the foudre or lighting that Rose was mentioning earlier.
"Putain, that's really hot." I whispered under my breath.

All my attention to Luka, I didn't notice Matthieu come up to me with Adèle.
"Ange, you seem so into the music?" Matthieu said beside me.
"The music? You mean Luka? She looks like she's more into Luka than the song is self." Adèle giggled, looking back and forth from me to Luka, taking notice of how my eyes shined at the sight of him singing and playing his guitar.

Luka averted his eyes to Angèle as he sang, thinking about the song he and Angèle sang together yesterday.

"Ange, dude, your eyes are about to fall out!" Matthieu shook his sister making her avert her eyes away from Luka.
"Dude, stop it!" I blushed.
Matthieu continued to tease his sister. Angèle getting annoyed, decided to ignore him and continued to keep her eyes on the guy singing on stage.
Luka and Angel's eyes locked.

Luka gave her a wink, causing her to look down.
Once again, Angèle felt another strike of lighting course through her body. She blushed furiously.
The band and Luka continued to sing and play. Luka and Angèle, turning their gazes to the other from time to time.
When Luka was looking at everyone else, Angèle quickly got out her camera and snapped a photo of him as he sang.

Luka sang the last line of the song and everyone cheered. He quickly unplugged his guitar and got off the stage.
