Catherine didn't know if attending a reunion was a perfect thing to do, Natasha had called her to inform her about it
"Catherine I don't want to look for you there. You have no choice,you are certainly coming"Natasha had said with a tone of finality.
She was on the counter thinking when Vera and Tosin walked, they were both wearing identical jean trousers with white shirt. They looked so great, sometimes Catherine felt like a third wheel in the friendship but their actions proved otherwise.
Tosin first went to the fridge and brought out a tub of ice cream
"Just know you are paying 2000 for that"Catherine said as a matter of a fact
"What is 2,000?"Tosin sneered and placed it on Catherine's body
Catherine was surprised,that was the first time Tosin ever paid for something
"This is certainly the work of God"Catherine remarked. Vera was too busy ordering for rice and plantain
"We came for the latest gist"Vera said
"Which latest gist?"Catherine inquired
"About Dike of course,when are you planning your wedding cos I can't wait to eat wedding rice and see my god children"Vera explained
"We just started dating"Catherine protested
"It's being 3 months already na"Tosin said dramatically
"What about you Tosin,have you accepted that guy in your office?"Vera inquired
"No o,his a womanizer,I can't deal with that kind of man, I'll just beat him to this death"Tosin was just like that. She was a tomboy during her teen days and it still reflected, Catherine could remember when she had beat up a guy for calling her a senseless girl.
"Vera did you hear of our reunion?"Catherine asked
"Yeah, George informed me and asked if you would come"
"As if he cares"Catherine snorted
"Are you going?"Tosin asked
"I don't think so,I don't want to see him, he'll probably bring that his girlfriend along"
"You are sounding like a jealous wife"Tosin teased
"You sound like you still have feelings for George,I hope not because you already have a boyfriend. Consider Dike and kill whatever feelings you have for George"Vera advised.
Catherine thought about it, she couldn't stop.

Golden Tulips was the best hotel in the state,what she expecting?Most of the kids who attended Emperor High School were rich and they were all successful people already.
Catherine didn't know why she kept ransacking her wardrobe,she didn't want to look inferior and she probably wanted to look good for some reasons.
She finally settled for a white maxi gown, she was so terrible at picking dresses but the gown looked good on her,so why not?
She applied her makeup and before 7PM, she was at the event. Many flashy cars were parked, Catherine didn't come along with her car since it was with the mechanic.
The hall was large,like really large. It had banners that was boldly written on it,the word; reunion and some other stuffs Catherine did not bother to read.
And then the whole decor screamed wealth,bright lights and sound system were under mounted. The DJ was playing some soft music at the background. There were not more than 30 people present and Catherine regretted coming early
Most of them were Art students that she never got along with,the event was yet to start so Catherine fished out her phone and started chatting.
"Hey"
Catherine tore her eyes away from her phone and met George's
"Hi"
How he managed to look handsome always was so baffling,why was he so cute with those smiles and the dimple and,she stopped herself from overthinking
"Glad you could make it" He said sincerely,his eyes were roaming around her body,was he checking her out?
"Yeah. What of Natasha?I don't think she has arrived,hope she's still coming"Catherine asked
"Actually she called me not too long ago that the kids are down with a fever so she took them to the hospital"George explained
"That's bad. I think I'll have to call her later"
They both fell into a comfortable silence before someone called George's attention
"Would you mind meeting other people?"
"No,am good"
"Ok, I'll just have to go now, have fun"A smile graced his lips "And you look beautiful as always"
He left before she could even respond
It was past 7 and the event had fully begun, Catherine was sipping from her glass when someone hugged her from behind, Catherine twirled around to meet the shock of her life
"Cherry!" She tried hard not to shout but she was happy to see the half Korean girl. They hugged while Cherry kept grinning
"Long time girl"Cherry started. She was no longer slim,she seemed to have grown chubby and more beautiful. Her hair was packed in a bun and her black gown did justice to her body.
"Honestly,how have you being?"Catherine asked her. Cherry had already poured herself a drink
"My dear am okay, I traveled back to Korea and finished schooling,got a job,got married last year and here I am attending our reunion"Cherry said all in one breath.
"Am so happy for you dear, when did you come back?"Catherine asked
"An hour ago"Cherry drowned more glasses
"Jesus,you didn't even rest!"Catherine was definitely surprised
"My dear,forget about me and tell me about yourself"Cherry nudged her
"Well I finished school,got a job as a doctor at the teaching hospital but I opened a restaurant along the line and here I am"
"What about George,any kids yet?"Cherry's eyes were gleaming in anticipation
"We broke up long ago"Catherine whispered quietly,the thought of it making her angry.
"You can't be serious,but you guys loved each other"
"I guess love is not enough,he has a girlfriend now,it's all in the past"Catherine sighed.
"Hey,they are not yet married,you were destined to be with George, keep calm babe,his yours"Cherry encouraged.
"I can see some people that I recognize,let me just say hi to them"Cherry excused herself and Catherine smiled in understanding.
Vera did not show up also,she probably had some engagement to attend to.
Refreshments were shared among the guests and the long event came to an end. She collected Cherry's contact and she promised to keep in touch.
Catherine also met with few people and they all exchanged pleasantries. Though some people came to show off,it was still a successful event.
Catherine checked her time and noticed it was late,there were no taxis yet,she panicked for a while and just decided to start trekking,she was definitely going to collect her car the next day
God seemed to answer her prayer but through the person she didn't want to see.
"Cath I think you should come in lemme drop you home"He said
Catherine didn't have time to argue,so she hopped in and allowed him drive her,she was surprised when he kept driving without asking for direction
"So did you enjoy the event?"He asked trying to break the icy silence
"Yeah,it was a nice one"
He smiled broadly and Catherine tried hard not to be distracted.
"How is Dike?"George asked
"His fine and Melody?"
"She's also fine." He paused
" Catherine I really want us to talk a..."
Catherine held out her hand indicating that she didn't want to hear any of what he had to say.
Fortunately he was already in front of her house.
"Thanks for the ride"She said and got out of the car,she didn't turn around to wave cos she knew he would certainly be there.
