OLIVIA
I picked up my phone from the side of my bed and put it to my ear. Who would be calling me at 2 in the morning?
"Hello is this Olivia Blake?" A voice asked from the other end of the line.
"Umm yes. Who is this" I asked cautiously.
"My name is Julia, I'm one of the paramedics helping out your friend. Reagan was hit by a car on the fourth street, she is currently stable. I found you in her emergency contact list" the women explained.
I tried to speak but my voice didn't let me. I felt as if someone just yanked my heart out of my chest and stomped on it. After a moment of silence, I was finally able to speak.
"What hospital?" I asked trying my best to keep it together.
"Riverview" after hearing those words I shut off my phone and stood up.
I ran out of my room toward Jacob's room.
"Jacob!" I yelled walking towards him.
"What?" He groggily asked me.
"Get up! Reagan was hit by a car! I need you to drive me to the hospital, common!" I yelled.
"Ok go get Abby. I'll get my keys" he told me shooting out of bed.
I ran towards my room trying to get Abby up but she wasn't cooperating. Jacob just picked her up and we ran out the door.
What if she dies? She's my best friend. I couldn't imagine my life without her, she was the one person who could always make me smile. She knew me better then I knew myself.
"Hey liv she will be okay," Jacob told me with a reassuring smile.
"You don't know that" I mumbled.
"Olivia she's a fighter," he told me.
That's what everyone always says when someone gets hurt. But she can't control what happened to her and she can't control if she gets better, no one can.
I gave him a weak nod. I really wasn't in the mood to talk and the last thing I needed right now was another one of Jacobs stupid pep talks.
We pulled up in front of the hospital and I got straight out of the car and ran in. I didn't wait for Abby and Jacob to follow me, I needed to make sure Reagan was okay. That's all that mattered right now.
"Where is Reagan's whites room?" I asked the nurse at the front desk.
"Are you family?" She asked giving me a smile.
"Umm ya, I'm her sister," I told her. I know how this works, the only family gets told shit. So right now I'm family.
"Ok, I'll show you to her room" the nurse smiled leading me down the hall. I slowly followed behind her, I was terrified of what I was about to see.
What I saw broke my heart. Reagan was on a hospital bed covered in bruises and cuts. She had a cast on her arm and her leg. She had an Iv attached to her arm and there were machines surrounding her.
"Oh my god," I whispered walking toward her. I just stood in front of her limp body, I was too scared to touch her. For the first time in Reagan's life, she looked weak and helpless.
"W-what happened to her? Is she gonna be okay" I asked I was on the verge of tears. It took everything in me not to break down and cry right there.
"I'm not sure. I'll go get her doctor, he can answer all of your questions" she told me before running off.
"Olivia," Jacob said sadly putting a hand on my shoulder. I hadn't even realized he was here until now. I turned around to see a sad look on his face and Abby sleeping on his shoulder.
"Hi, I'm doctor bax. I'm Reagans doctor" he looked like he was in his early thirties and had short brown hair.
"Hey, I'm Jacob. Olivia's older brother" Jacob said shaking his hand.
"Is she going to die?" I asked bluntly. I wanted answers and I was going to get them.
"No. She has 2 broken ribs, a broken arm, a broken leg and a mild concussion. She was very lucky" he smiled at us. I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my chest.
"When will she wake up?" I asked feeling a shred of hope for the first time today.
"Hopefully in the next couple of hours. Since Reagan is 15 we are going to need to have at least one parent here. So where are her parents?" Doctor bax asked.
"There travelling" I answered crossing my arms.
"Ok, we are going to need to give them a call," he told us.
"What no" I yelled. "Her parents don't deserve to be informed."
"Olivia," Jacob said walking toward me and the doctor.
"No Jacob. This is fucking stupid" I mumbled before walking out of the room. I could hear Jacob yelling my name in the distance but I just ignored it and continued to walk.
It wasn't fair that her parents got to come and ruin everything. Reagan hates them, so I don't get why they got to be notified. They are the last people she would want to see right now.

I had been walking around for an hour or so and finally decided to go back. I wanted to be there when Reagan woke up.
"Hey" I sighed as I entered the room to see Reagan still sleeping.
"Her parents should be here in a few hours," Jacob told me.
"You okay Livy?" Abby asked me. She was sitting on Jacob's lap playing with his phone.
"No" I replied bluntly with an eye roll.
"Hey, I know you're upset but don't take it out on her" Jacob told me.
I huffed in response, of course, everything had to be about precious little Abby.
"Who hit her?" I asked referring to Reagan.
"I don't know," Jacob said sympathetically.
"Shouldn't you be figuring that out. Can't your gang find that out and then go beat the shit out of them?" I asked with just the right amount of sass.
"Olivia!" Jacob glared at me before grabbing my wrist and pulling me into the empty hallway.
"What do you want," I asked crossing my arms over my chest.
"You can't say that shit in front of Abby, okay? She's five she could easily go and tell her entire class. I could go to jail, how do you not get that?" Jacob asked.
"I do get it" I rolled my eyes.
"I don't think you do. This is a dangerous game your playing at Olivia. So stop it and just stay out of it. I'll figure out who hit her and I'll deal with them. But that's not your responsibility, got it?" Jacob asked. I stood there for a second before slowly nodding my head.
"Fine" I replied lazily.
"I'm serious Olivia. Stay.out.of.it." He told me before walking back into the room leaving me on my own.
