You had seen Heather around school, she ruled with Chandler so she was hard to avoid. Personally, you'd never liked her much, you'd seen the way she'd treated those she saw as beneath her, but each time she picked on you, you could see a little sympathy, or maybe pity, in her eyes. As though she didn't want to do it, but maybe you were just trying to find the good in her, you'd always found her immensely attractive, so maybe you just wanted to like her. Little did you know, Heather didn't want to hurt you, she liked you, but she had to.
It was just a normal day, you were getting picked on as per the usual. The Heather's were of course, the main ones doing it, as they always did. They continued to push you around, call you names, until you couldn't take it anymore. You'd endured months of this hell, and you were done.
You ran off, distraught to the bathrooms and pulling out a bottle of pills from your pocket. You'd been contemplating suicide for a long time, and you'd finally given up. There was nothing to live for, nobody to love you. The caps on the pill bottles were always a pain, you shouted, "Stupid caps!", as you slammed it against the dirty bathroom taps. The pill bottle opened abruptly, but you still managed to shovel enough pills to end you into your mouth.
As you were about to swallow some water to wash it down with your head was shaken by a stranger in green. Annoyed, you coughed out all the pills and sunk to the floor, where the stranger sat next to you.
"I'm so sorry, for all that I've done to you.." The familiar voice apologised.
You recognised the voice, as you turned your head and saw Heather Duke sat next to you.
"I-It's alright I guess, I've seen the way you look when you hurt me.." You tried to sympathise with her.
"It's not alright, but I hope I can make it up to you..?" She responded, smiling softly at you.
"I'd like that.. What do you suggest?" You grinned happily.
"How about we skip school and go to the library? I could read Moby Dick with you..? O-Or whatever you want to do..?" She suggested excitedly.
"I'd love to read Moby Dick with you, see why you love the book so much.." You smiled, the happiest you'd been in a long while.
