DEMON'S RUN, HANGAR
"I heard her talking...this is a trap. Why would I lie to you?" Lorna questions.
Rory steps forward.
"Well, you might want to take a look at your uniform." He hisses.
"Oh and yours. Police officers?" Bella mutters to amy.
"Wasn't by choice." Amy pouts.
"The only reason I joined the Clerics was to meet the Doctor again." Lorna tells the group.
"You wanted to meet him, so you joined an army to fight him?" Jenny asks.
"Well, how else do you meet a great warrior?" Lorna stammers.
"He's not a warrior." Bella announces.
"Then why's he called the Doctor?" Lorna asks her.
The lights go out and Amy, Rory and Bella stand by the cot.
"It's starting. Please listen to me." Lorna announces.
"Confirmed. No life forms registering on this base, except us and the Silurians." Strax calls out.
"The Headless Monks aren't alive...they don't register as life forms." Lorna states.
A monk walks up behind a Silurian.
DEMON'S RUN, HANGAR
A lift opens and a monk emerges, shooting energy from his hand and killing the Silurian on guard. In the main area, a glowing light appears around the Tardis. Bella is holding Melody.
"What's that?" Bella exclaims.
Vastra approaches and reaches a hand out to touch it. She pulls it back at the energy she feels.
"Force field." Vastra states.
Amy and Rory are on alert. The monks begin chanting as they walk towards them. A loud noise is heard.
"And those are the doors... locking." Lorna states.
The monks pass the bodies of Silurians on the ground. The lifts are shut down.
"Apparently we're not leaving." Vastra says.
They hear the chanting.
"Is that the Monks?" Rory asks.
"Oh, dear God... that's the attack prayer." Dorium calls out.
"Girls, come with me. We have to get you to safety." Rory states.
"Quick, come on!" Amy tells Bella.
"What about the Doctor?" Bella questions.
"He's not here. But he will be fine." Amy tells her sister.
(Amy then leads bella away)
The monks have their swords out and charged. In another section of the room, Rory helps Bella, Amy and Melody hide behind crates.
"Rory, no offence to the others, but you let them all die first, OK?" Amy states.
"You're so Scottish." Amy replies.
Amy kisses him
"Stay safe, please." Bella tells Rory.
"Will do. You as well, though. And you little, Melody..." Rory states as he strokes melody's cheek.
"Centurion, you're needed!" Vastra then announces.
Rory leaves.
"Look at you, huh. My little sister. And her baby." Amy whispers to Bella.
"Life has a new meaning now. I don't know how I'm gonna manage it though. Looking after her and travelling with you guys. But I will. Because I'm not being separated from her. Not again." Bella states and Amy leans her head on Bella's shoulder.
Bella clings to Melody and then hears the sound of a sword and then something hitting the floor. Melody cries.
"Come on Doctor." Bella whispers.
DEMON'S RUN, COMMUNICATION
The Doctor slams his hands down in anger as he shouts at Kovarian on the screen.
"My child- she's not a weapon!" The doctor yells angrily.
"Oh, give us time. She can be. She will be." Kovarian replies.
"Except you've already lost her, and I swear I will never let you anywhere near her again. My daughter, she's staying with her parents." The doctor angrily hisses.
"Oh, Doctor. Fooling you once was a joy... but fooling you twice, the same way, it's a privilege." Kovarian states with a smirk.
"No... no. BELLA! BELLA!" The doctors cries out.
DEMON'S RUN, HANGAR
Amy and Bella are trying to console a crying Melody as the sounds of fighting go on around them.
"I need to help them." Amy tells Bella.
"I knew you'd go.." Bella sighs.
"I'll be ok, promise. Just stay here. With our Melody." Amy states.
"You have a niece that needs you. For god sake, don't die." Bella replies and Amy laughs.
"You have my word." She announces. She then gets up and runs.
DEMON'S RUN, CORRIDORS
The Doctor runs to the others, hoping to get there in time.
"BELLA!" He exclaims.
DEMON'S RUN, HANGAR
The fight continues. A monk comes up behind Strax. Lorna is struck by a monk's energy.
DEMON'S RUN, CORRIDORS
The Doctor comes to a locked door.
"BELLS!" The doctor cries out.
DEMON'S RUN, HANGAR
Melody bursts. She was Flesh.
(Bella screams)
"No! No! Amy! AMY!" She screams as she begins to cry.
Amy and Rory hear her
"NO! NO!" Bella cries.
DEMON'S RUN, CORRIDORS
The Doctor uses the sonic on the door.
"Bella! she's not real! Melody - she's a flesh avatar. BELLA!" The doctor announces.
(The door opens)
DEMON'S RUN, HANGAR
The Doctor runs in, the fighting is over.
"BELLA! BELLA!" The doctors calls out.
"Yeah, we know." Rory tells the Doctor.
Rory then walks over to a dying Strax.
The Doctor sees Jenny and Amy with Bella and walks over to them.
"So they took her anyway. All this was for nothing." Bella croaks.
Rory joins them.
"Love. I am so... sorry." The doctor stammers.
(He goes to hug her but she backs away and stares at him)
"Bella... it's not his fault. It's his daughter as well." Jenny sighs.
(Bella starts crying)
"I know, I know." She mutters.
Any puts her arms around Bella and comforts her.
The Doctor then goes over and comforts Lorna. She then passes away.
Suddenly, There is a bright flash of light and a clap of displaced air.
"Well, then, soldier, how goes the day?" River questions.
The Doctor strides over.
"Where the hell have you been? Every time you've asked, I have been there. Where the hell were you today?" The doctor yells angrily.
"I couldn't have prevented this." River states.
"You could've tried!" The doctor tells her.
"And so could you." River replies. She then looks at Bella.
"I know you're not all right. But hold tight, Bella, because you're going to be." She softly states.
"You think I wanted this? I didn't do this. This... this wasn't me! I wanted my daughter! I want my daughter!" The doctors exclaims.
"This was exactly you. All this, all of it. You make them so afraid. When you began, all those years ago, sailing off to see the universe, did you ever think you'd become this? The man who can turn an army around at the mention of his name? Doctor? The word for healer and wise man, throughout the universe. We get that word from you, you know. But if you carry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean? To the people of the Gamma Forests, the word "Doctor" means mighty warrior. How far you've come. And now they've taken your child... and they're going to turn her into a weapon, just to bring you down. And all this... in fear of you." River announces.
"Who are you?" The doctor asks.
"Oh, look, your cot! Haven't seen that in a very long while." River states.
She backs up to the cot
"No, no, you tell me. Tell me... who you are!" The doctor instructs her.
"I am telling you. Can't you read?" Rover asks.
The Doctor looks at the Gallifreyan writing on the cot and then up at River. He suddenly realizes who she is and smiles.
"Hello." He states.
"Hello." River replies.
The Doctor then hugs her tightly.
"Oh but wait!" He announces as he pulls away from her.
"Yes..." she stutters.
"You're much. I mean Bella. She..." the Doctor begins to state.
"Don't say it. I look like I could be her grandmother." River sighs and the doctor laughs
(He then spins)
"Vastra and Jenny, till the next time. Bella, I will find our daughter and on my life, she will be safe. River, get them all home." The doctor announces.
The Doctor then walks to the Tardis.
"Doctor?" Amy exclaims.
"No! Where are you going? No!" Bella yells.
The Doctor uses the sonic to lift the force field and enters the Tardis. In the doorway, he laughs and points at River before going inside and closing the door. The Tardis dematerializes.
(Bella walks towards River)
"Where's he going? What did you tell him?" She snaps.
"Bella, you have stay calm." River states.
(Bella picks a gun off the floor and aims it at River )
"Tell me what you told the Doctor." She hisses.
"Bella, no!" Amy exclaims.
"stop it!" Rory tells her.
"It's OK, guys, she's fine, she's good. It's the TARDIS translation matrix, it takes a while to kick in with the written word. You have to concentrate." River tells Bella.
(Bella looks at the Gallifreyan on the cot)
"I still can't read it." She hisses.
Rory takes the gun from Bella.
"It's because it's Gallifreyan and doesn't translate. But this will. It's your daughter's name in the language of the forest." River tells Bella as she hands her the prayer leaf.
"I know my daughter's name." Bella tells River.
"Except they don't have a word for "pond" because only water in the forest is the river. The Doctor will find your daughter and he will care for her whatever it takes and I know that." River announces.
Lorna's stitching changes in Bella, Amy and Rorys eyes as the translation circuit works. One side becomes "River" and the other "Song".
"It's me. I'm Melody. I'm your daughter." River tells Bella.
