Andre sat in the dungeon tied to chained in the middle, ready for his punishment; for this, he was turned back to human.
He winced, hearing Grace screams of agony. She has been on a rampage ever since she finding out about Ciana being in the enemy's hands. He had delivered the news taking all te blame. All dead threats against Dolores and the sorcerers ceased.
Grace is in so much pain at the loss of Ciana that she has been causing massive earthquakes around their little town, and everything living creature dies within seven feet. All plants and trees had started to wither.
The doors to the dungeon opened up, and Blaise walked in, holding a whip and iron bar. "I'll make you suffer, but no amount of pain will compare to what you have caused Grace."
"I'll take my punishment," he said.
"You will!" Blaise growled.
Andre gripped the chains tightly as the whip came down, striking him across is back. Andre didn't care, he did the right thing. His daughter is safe; that's all that matters to him. He'll endure any punishment that comes his way.
Throughout his whole life, he has always messed things up, always complaining about not being part of the central family.
He was always feeling left out. But things got better after his older cousin met his wife. And then he, himself, met Grace.
He smiled.
The first time he met, Grace was annoying because she was bossy. But as he got to know her, he knew she was the woman he wanted to call his wife. But because of their personalities and attitudes, they always seemed to clash in unexpected ways.
They were always arguing over the littlest things.
He lost her when he left, she got married to Blaise. And now here they were trapped and struggling to survive. No matter what, he will save Grace. He'll have to endure her bossing him around until he can break through her darkened heart.
"It seems this has no effect on you," Blaise drop the whip. "Fine, let's take it up a notch." Andre watched as he held the tip of the iron bar against the fire. He saw as the tip turn red. "Let's see if you can handle this, you filthy mutt!"
Andre gritted his teeth as Blaise dragged the hot iron across his back, over the opened wounds. His body tightens, enduring the pain. He smelled burnt flesh mixed with blood. The pain was excruciating, Blaise repeating the processes many times that Andre lost count. At this point, he didn't feel any pain, his back and soul were numb. Andre knew his back was a mess with skin hanging from his back. He'll have scars, that for sure.
"Damn you!" Blaise kicked the chair again the wall, it shatters like it was nothing. "Why won't you scream?!"
"I'll endure it," he mumbles. "For Grace's and my child sake."
"So be it!" Blaise called out two-man, and they held his head. "I'll take your sight! Then you won't be able to see Grace or your baby! My face will be the last thing you'll ever see!"
"Bring it on!" Andre spat.
Andre didn't struggle and stared into Blaise's eyes. Blaise held a dragged and hand someone open his left eye. "Goodnight, Andre."
Andre gripped the chains even tighter until his knuckles turned white. Losing his sight is nothing if it means Grace and his child are safe, so be it. To hell with his eyesight.
Andre didn't scream as Blaise gauged out his eyes. The pain was unbearable as if his body was being torn apart.
After it was over, he's whole body was numb; he could taste his own blood.
He smiled.
"Your crazy," Blaise said. "How can you withstand that?"
"My love for Grace keeps me strong," he felt his body start to shut down. "And nothing can break that, you can do anything to me, but our love will never be cut."
He didn't listen to Blaise respond as he went deeper into the darkness.
-
Grace's eyes widen at seeing Andre's face, his eyes, where nothing but an empty space. A dark void of nothingness. He's beautiful eyes were gone. She knelt and cup his face. "Blaise, why? Why did you do this?"
"You said to punish him," Blaise said. "And I did, you didn't limit the punishment. I'm sorry if this upset you, but I cannot reverse it, the damage is done."
Grace shattered the chains and held Andre close to her. "My Andre, I'm sorry." She didn't want this, she was so angry with Andre for what he did, that she didn't give strict instructions on the punishment. And she can't blame Blaise he did as he was told. "You two, take him to my bedroom."
Grace stood and follow them out, she stopped at the kitchen to gather some herbs and bandages. For some odd reason, she felt warm and guilty. Perhaps losing her child caused it.
"Blaise, start looking for my daughter," she gripped the basket. "And kill anyone who gets in your way."
"Yes," Blaise walked away.
Grace enters the room where Andre laid face down on the bed. She set the basket down on the floor and filled a bowl with warm water. Grabbing a clean blanket, Grace ripped it into equal sizes. She took the largest ones and dab the end into the water. Gently Gr began to clean Andre's shredded back. She stopped for a moment. "Eyes first," she began to clean around his opened eyes. The sockets were hard to clean, but she used her magic to prevent an infection. "I'm sorry," she closed his eyes and placed a green mush on each eye before wrapping a bandage around his head. "There, it saddens me that I will never see your beautiful eyes."
She continues to tend to Andre's wounds until each one had been bandaged up. She sat on the chair, staring at his face. Why did he betray her? Where is Ciana?
So many questions that Andre will never answer.
She stood and walked over to the balcony. Looking out into the grey sky, she closed her eyes, trying to track Ciana. But there was nothing, it's like she didn't exist. But she knows Ciana is out there, her scent being musk by someone else's.
She sighed and look down. She still had Connor, so long as he's here, everything will be okay.
Smiling, she went back inside and stopped as Genesis stood there.
"I heard you been looking for me," he glared. "Here I am, but I request that you let Lucy and Lani go, I'll do as you wish so long as they are free."
"Oh," she walked over and circle him. "What a surprised, I never thought you would turn yourself in, why?"
"I don't want any more suffering," he clenched and unclenched his hands. "Let them go, and Andre. I see he has been suffering more than anyone else."
"Hmm," she smiled. "Andre belongs to me, but I'll consider letting Lucy and Lani go, but you need to be here, in your form, not a projection."
"Your smart," Genesis sighed. "I want them free by tomorrow, then I'll come if not then good luck looking for me."
Grace frowned. "How do I know you aren't trying to trick me?"
"I'm not one for playing games," he said. "Lucy means a lot of me, as for Lani, I don't give a crap about her, but it seems I misjudge her. Let them both go and Kiki."
"No," Grace growled. "Kiki stays, she's bounded to my son, Connor."
"Damn," Genesis bit his bottom lip. "Fine, then just Lani and Lucy."
"Deal," she smiled. "I always keep my promises, but if your cross me, I'll make sure those two suffer a worse fate than death."
Genesis smiled. "I believe in myself, but not you. You better keep your promise your majesty, or I'll be taking Connor with me, believe me, his body is compatible with mine."
"Don't you dare!" Grace tried to trap Genesis, but her chains when through him.
"I'm not here, remember," he laughed. "See you soon, Grace."
Grace felt the air around her thicken with darkness. She'll make that demon pay.
