Vrox ran into the cave as if The Vanishing itself was coming after him, holding a torch and water in a metal bucket that seemed to be half-way empty. His wet chest gave her an idea of where the rest of the water had gone.

"I brought your things!" he yelled loud enough to wake all of Ezron.

He slid the torch onto a metal cuff that was engraved into a wall, and then placed the bucket at her feet.

The torch breathed dim light into the cave, allowing her to observe her surroundings. The only clothes she had available were her dress and the furs on the bed. She was really not interested in stuffing some animal remains into her pants, but she doubted Vrox had cotton pads or tampons lying around.

Deciding to test her luck, she looked up at the fidgeting giant.

"Do you mind if I check your chest?" she asked, pointing to the corner where he kept the massive box.

He replied "of course," with a tone that accused her question of being ridiculous.

She made a move to rise from the bed, only to give Vrox a look of hopelessness when she struggled to get off. The platform was too high for her. With his help, she was able to kneel beside the massive wooden box. She tried to push the lid aside and then realized that it was too heavy.

Every part of Vrox's dwelling seemed determined to remind her of their size difference.

Vrox pulled it off for her, revealing a blinding bling that made her cower.

"What the– Vrox, you just casually keep a small lake of treasure next to your bed?"

Diamonds, rubies, emeralds, square icons with markings, and everything else that glittered overloaded the chest.

Vrox blinked. "Where else am I supposed to keep it?"

"I don't know, buried? Someone could sneak in here and steal it."

He shook his head. "No one cares for wealth anymore. In the beginning, some looters thought The Vanishing was temporary. After everyone accepted that we were headed for extinction, things changed."

"That makes sense, I guess," she mumbled, still mindblown. She could have bought herself one of Earth's continents with all this wealth.

She shyly poked around the precious jewels, hoping that Vrox's people considered cotton a luxury. She was left disappointed when all she found were more weapons, some scrolls that she didn't dare to unravel, golden cuffs, rings, necklaces, and vials of colorful liquid.

"What are you looking for?"

"Soft cloth," she answered when she couldn't think of the Ezronian word for cotton. Maybe cotton didn't exist on this planet.

"I will be back in a moment."

True to his word, he returned later with a grey material that was undoubtedly thick strips of cotton. She gasped with relief and wonder, reaching for it.

"We use this to bind serious injuries," Vrox explained. "It is very absorbent."

"Thank god," she groaned with relief.

It looked like she wouldn't be humping animal fur after all.

"Could you give me a few minutes alone, please?"

He seemed displeased by this. "I have left you enough times tonight. Let me see the injury. I will wash–"

She'd die before she let Vrox clean up her oozing period blood.

"Not today, Satan."

Vrox's brow split with his adorable confusion. "That is not my name."

"I know, honey. Just..." she sighed again.

"Ho–py? Kira, why are you calling me these names? Have I done something wrong?"

She chuckled. "No, I'm sorry. Can I have some privacy, please? I promise that I'll call if I need you."

He hesitated for a few more seconds before walking out. She hopped into action immediately, shoving her dress off and staring at the crime scene between her legs. With the clean ends of her dress, she dabbed into the water and wiped her thighs. Once she was done, she engineered a way to secure the thick strips that Vrox gave her between her thighs. Her panties were still wet, so she had to dry those as soon as possible.

She fashioned another makeshift dress and then went about cleaning up. After depositing the disgusting remains of her dress in a corner, she organized Vrox's bed. Thankfully, the blood on the top layer hadn't penetrated to the rest. She peeled the top fur off and placed it in the corner.

"Kira? Why do I hear so much movement?"

"I'm done. Come inside."

He entered, finding her standing beside the bed. Knowing that she couldn't climb on it without his help, he gripped her waist with his two big hands and swung her up. He joined her quickly after, greedily sucking her into his embrace.

"Are you sure that you will be alright? The wound does not hurt?"

"The only harm my wound will bring me is an ache to my ears once Kyros asks me a million questions about it."

"No," Vrox spat immediately.

"What?"

"I do not want you talking about your slit with my brothers. I will give them a simple explanation tomorrow. They do not need to know what happens under your skirts."

She chuckled, her small display of stubbornness making Vrox's hand flush deeper against her womb.

"I see that the machoness disease reached Ezron as well as Earth."

"What do you speak of, female?" Vrox asked. "I am healthy. I bear no disease."

"Vrox, it's okay to educate your brothers about... slits"

He grumbled. "I will punch Kyros in the gut to make him bleed along with you if he asks something I do not like."

"Okay, mister caveman alien prince. Let's go to sleep," she suggested as she spun around in his arms.

Vrox puller her higher, allowing her face to rest in the crook of his neck. With his strong heartbeat against her breast, she shut out the world.

"Clear dreams, shlur demiox."

She mumbled a question, but unconsciousness forbade an answer.

The chirp of a bird and the baritone of males woke her up. She opened her eyes and found Vrox's.

"How long have you been staring at me?"

"About six hours."

She jolted. "Six hours? You watched me all night?"

He gave her a nod. "Yes. I was looking for a change in your breathing and heartbeat. You say that your injury is harmless, but I am not convinced."

She groaned. Why was he so perfect?

"Vrox, that is crazy. You need to sleep."

"I can function without sleep for a few days. I am a–"

"A healthy male," she finished for him. "A stubborn log is what you are," she glared, but her resolve only lasted a few seconds before it crumbled. "Stop being so sweet," she begged with a nuzzle to his nose.

He growled, pulling her deeper against him. "What is this?"

She smiled. "It's called an eskimo kiss."

"I like it. I want more of these eskimos."

Her smile ruptured with a laugh, and she pushed at his chest. "Let me go find a way to brush my teeth. My mouth is filthy."

With a sly grin, Vrox leaned in and tried to steal a kiss from her. She squealed and squirmed under him, trying to avoid his mouth.

"Give me my eskimos," he demanded playfully as he fished for her lips.

After losing the war, her reparations came in the form of a heavy make-out session. She was left sore-mouthed and panting thanks to Vrox's enthusiasm.

They stepped outside, and Rokan eyed them warily as he made his way from the field. There was no food around, but she didn't want to annoy anyone by asking for breakfast.

"What happened last night? It sounded like the second Vanishing had arrived."

The question came from Kyros, who Vrox promptly greeted with a scowl.

"Boys, gather around. You're about to learn about the Crimson Tide."

"What is that? Is it a river from Earth?" Kyros asked.

"Oh yeah, many women are given their personal rivers about once a month."

Vrox crossed his arms over his chest, visibly displeased by the conversation.

"A river? Do you mean that men name rivers after you? That is quite senseless. Surely, there are not enough rivers for you all."

Rokan nodded with agreement.

"Not quite," she grinned. "The female body prepares for carrying young every month, and if she doesn't get with child, then she will bleed for many days. However, the bleeding doesn't kill her."

Kyros threw his head back and crackled. "You have the strangest jests."

"I'm not jesting. I'm bleeding right now."

He sobered and dropped his horrified gaze to her thighs.

"Enough storytime," Vrox growled, before pulling her into his arms and carrying her away like a true caveman.

"Take me back!"

"Nonsense. I want more eskimos."
