The Day Has Come! My first day at U.A is here, and I could feel the nervousness pooling in my gut, I could barely make my tie, it was an absolute mess, so I left it. School is a short train ride from my apartment, and I had soon arrived at the academy. My search for 1-A leads me to a massive door, probably made for someone with a mutation quirk or one that allows them to transform into something massive. From inside, I hear the distinctive shouting of Bakugou, and seemingly robot voice, I waste no more time and thrust open the door, to seem Bakugou with his feet on the desk, and a tall bluenette shouting at him to remove his feet, I can already feel the dull beat of a headache forming in my mind.
"Take you feet of the desk right now! You are disrespecting the makers and upperclassmen who had used it!" Robot boy shouted at Bakugou, who in turn snarled and shouted back,
"Hah?! Who the hell are you Extra? What middle school you from?!" He barked at the robot. The response is,
"I am from Somei Academy! My name is Iida Tenya; And yo-" He abruptly cut off as he noticed me gawking at him in the door way. He bolted up to me and asked, "And who might you be?" gesticulating wildly, his hands moving up and down. Before I could respond to the robot boy, Bakugou demands,
"DEKU! How the hell did you get here!?" He growls aggressively at me, I look into his crimson eyes, showing him I'm not afraid of him anymore. Returning my eyes back to robo-boy, I point to my neck, then right down on a scrap of paper, 'I'm selectively mute, but my name is Izuku Midoriya' The boy nodded twice, then he moves back to Bakugou, who sat silently fuming, a scowl ingrained on his face.
As I make my way to my desk, my eyes fall onto a quiet boy at the back. His split hair, half red and half white, his heterochromia, and scar on his right side all stand out. He looks stunning, I think before I can stop myself; then I realise I'm staring at him, and he stares back with a cold, closed off look. Shaking my head, I let myself move to my seat, unable to take my mind of the pretty boy in the corner, but before I can continue with my train of thought, the large door slides open, but no one comes in. That was until a yellow caterpillar pops up, unzipping itself to reveal our teacher, with a tired deadpan look. Noise dies down as we all look at the man, who takes out a random juice pack and sips it slowly, much to the discomfort to the class, before he speaks up,
"Right. It took you 8 seconds to calm down. Irrational. My name is Shouta Aizawa, and put these on," He now pulls out a U.A sports uniform, "And make your way out to training field A." He told us with a monotone voice, before slithering out again. The class sat in silence for a few seconds, unable to comprehend what had just happened, then Iida spoke up,
"You heard Sensei let's move!" Reacting to the teen, the rest moved to their respective changing rooms. Once inside the changing room, I start to undress, or I would have if I didn't hear behind me,
"Whoa what happened to your back dude?!" A blonde-haired boy with a lightning bolt in his hair shouted, pointing at my heavily scarred back. All eyes turned to me, looking at my back and the ugly scar that had formed thanks to my father's fire. The scar covered most of my back, tentacles of scar tissues bending around my abdomen, and over my shoulders, and it isn't pleasant sight at all. Shivering under the collective gaze, I got changed fast and made my way out to the training ground where Aizawa stood idly with a bored face, before looking at me, dead eyes light up with something which I can't explain. We stood in awkward silence, waiting for the rest to change, neither wanting to spark a conversation, until the rest of the class joined, and Aizawa spoke,
"You take too long. Today we are doing a test of physical abilities" his black eyes scanning across the gathered crowd, lingering on me for a split second longer, before nice girl from the exam decided to ask,
"But what about the introduction ceremony?" Dismissively, Aizawa shook his head, answering with,
"We don't have time to waste on such formalities. U.A have three years to whip you all into heroes, so yes, we are doing a physical test. Also, I will allow quirks to be used."
This riled the class up, an alien girl announcing the tests sound like fun. Without a notice, a dark aura surrounds the group, all eyes moved to Aizawa, who said,
"Fun you say? Well then, if that is the case the person in last place will be expelled on the spot" He told with a terrifying grin. Protests sparked in the class, them shouting that it's not fair. Aizawa with dead seriousness told us,
"Fair? You think that this world is fair? Natural disasters, random villain attacks, these aren't fair either, so why should this be? Now go beyond, Plus Ultra!" he shouted the end with no enthusiasm at all.
We start with a 50-metre dash, which I took 1st place using my telekinesis to pull myself to the end line, resulting in a 3 second score. Second place went to Iida who had literal engines in his legs. The second test is a grip test, and a boy with multiple arms got 540 kg, getting him first place, with me not far behind with 520 kg, using my strength alone, the rest had average. After the grip test, we did a standing long jump, which I cleared the box using my telekinesis to lift my body into the air, Bakugou used his explosions to fly over the box, as well as a boy with a literal laser coming from his... belly button? Oddly, he looked to left as if to look at someone, yet there is no one there. Continuing, the next test is repeated side steps, the only outstanding score is a small purple boy with purple balls as hair, who used it to hop from side to side with extreme speed. Finally, the last test is a ball throw, Aizawa who has been near silent from the beginning speaks up,
"Midoriya, you had the most combat points in the exam, you're first" He ordered whilst throwing a white ball at me. I caught it easily, and stepped into the circle, readying myself to throw the ball with my telekinesis, until I felt something tug at my chest, a tearing sensation ran through out my body, red eyes and golden goggles caught my eyes, as I turned to our teacher, exclaiming,
"E-Eraserh-head-d, the Eraser h-h-hero!" confused murmurs spread throughout the class, and Aizawa look mildly impressed,
"You know me kid?" when I nodded in reply he spoke again, "Why are you using you full power? Are you mocking everyone or are you afraid of your power?" Anger filled his tone, "Izuku Midoriya if you do not use that power, I will expel you right now" leaving no room for argument, and then he released his quirk, and giving me mine back, and stepped back.
Frustrated, I turned to Sensei, now Eraserhead, and shocking almost everyone, spoke clearly with no stutter, "Eraserhead, you have NO idea why I hold back my power." I turned back to the circle, before whispering,
Shouta can't help but think, 'What has happened to you, Midoriya?' as he watches the boy.
"Ultimate phoenix..." Gold flames formed wings, then flames wrap around the ball, building up power. Releasing it sends shockwaves out, the sound barrier breaking with a sonic boom. Seconds later, Aizawa's tracking device dinged; a fear inducing smile stretched on his face, turning and showing my results,
"1243 Metres?!" The class exclaimed with wide eyes at the impressive score I had. Bakugou looks at me with unbridled fury, hands popping wildly with explosions and propelling him towards me but is stopped by grey bandages that wrap tightly around him, preventing him reaching me. He tries to explode the bandages, but Aizawa dully speaks up, quirk activated,
"They are made of a steel wire cloth woven with carbon nanotubes, very hard to break. So stop. Your giving me dry eyes." Internally, I wince, such an awesome quirk but such a bad drawback. He pulls out eyes drops from his utility belt and squeezes the liquid into each eye, then dismissively waves his hand, telling us to continue. Gravity girl, Ochaco Uraraka, I believe is the only one that beats my score, earning an infinity by sending the ball out of earth's orbit.
Once the tests are completed, I stand silently waiting for Aizawa to show our scores. He taps on his device, and a blue hologram appears with our scores on them, they go:
1st Izuku Midoriya
2nd Momo Yaoyorozu
3rd Shouto Todoroki
4th Katsuki Bakugou
5th Tenya Iida
6th Fumikage Tokoyami
7th Mezo Shoji
8th Mashirao Ojiro
9th Eijiro Kirishima
10th Mina Ashido
11th Ochaco Uraraka
12th Koji Koda
13th Rikido Sato
14th Tsuyu Asui
15th Yuga Aoyama
16th Hanta Sero
17th Denki Kaminari
18th Kyoka Jiro
19th Toru Hagakure
20th Minoru Mineta
Tears fall like fountains from purple ball boy, as he screams,
"BUT I NEVER GOT TO FEEL THE GIRLS – ACK" He's stopped by Aizawa who wraps his gear around Purple and says,
"Minoru Mineta, You're expelled from U.A. Pack your things and go home."
Changing is awkward with one less class mate, and class is worst with one empty seat with tense silence over the class until the end of the day.
Slowly, I trudge out of U.A, readying myself to get home, until I hear Iida behind me,
"Hello Midoriya! Today has been good, has it not?" I raise an eyebrow, Iida continues, "Aizawa is a tough teacher, but that is expected of U.A!" Doing that weird hand thing again. We walk together to the train station, we stop again as a feminine voice behind us shouts,
"Hey you two! Are you going the train station? Can I come with you please?" I nod, Iida goes on a tangent about how it would be a pleasure for her to join. I wave at my two new friends, excited for tomorrow! I wonder what will happen...
