All through my life ive feared talking to people scared to make a mistake. Id only ever been able to make one friend that wasn't my three older brothers.
Both my parent's were afraid that would I never leave home or be able to hold a job. They never said that to my face only talked about me when they was alone.
I had been coming down the stairs when I heard my mom raise her voice at me dad. Leaning closer to hear what was happening I was shocked and uspet. "He's not a helpless child Cylde he needs to get a job and be productive like his brother's or well be taking care of him forever!" Of course being my clumsy self i hit the small table that was in front of my knocking over the plant that sat there. Giving away my cover, taking off towards my room hearing my mother call after me apologizing.
Locking my door I curl up in my blankets staring at my window listening to my oldest brother Grayson talk to my father about whats going on.
A few knocks arrive at my door making me whine and get up. Waiting for Grayson to arrive his heavy last knock which comes seconds after.

After Grayson left I tossed myself on to my bed grabbing my laptop. Searching for some jobs that was in my area.
After scrolling for what felt like ever I found the perfect job, it was at the local pet store Pets.
Leaving my room I go to Graysons knocking three times and wait. Walking in handing him tge laptop and smile. "What do you think?" He smiles and sits down in his desk chair reading the ad.
"It sounds perfect Kai ill call them and set up a interview okay." I nod then grab my laptop after je wrote the number down.
I hug him then rush off to my room smiling softly. Looking around the plan room noticing my beautiful green plants. Watering them and taking a few pictures sending them to my friend Shawn.
-i used a random site to do these i quite like them so i may use them every once in awhile-
Soon later dad comes in and tells me Shawn is coming over making me smile.
"I got you some selfs for your plants, there downstairs." I smile and thankk him going downstairs to see mom knitting a blanket.
Quickly I get to dads car and carry in the selfs there was three of them and the wasn't very heavy so it took less then 5 mintues.
I knock three times on Links door my second oldest brother, he whispers and opens the door smiling when he sees me and pulls me inside.
"Whats up bro?" I smile and wave at his Skype call with his boyfriend Casey.
"Dad bought me selfs for my plants can you hang them for me later?" He nods and grabs his toolbox handing it to me "Take it to your room ill be in about hour hour an half."
Leaving with the heavy box I sit it down in front of the wall I want them on.

Shawn had made it over and Link was hanging my selfs making me smile. Think of the new plants ill put up there.
"You guys wanna join us in a movie?" I jump at Grayson deep voice. Nodding I get up grabing Shawns hand and push him in my closet.
He quickly helps pick my clothes out getting a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a yellow hoodie.
I slip them on and grab my black vans with yellow strips and some yellow socks with black polka dots.
We leave and head down to Grayson car Link and Matthew my thrid brother who is the youngest older brother i was the baby of the family.
"So Kai bear guess what?" I smile and shrug leaning forward a bit.
"You got the job interview tomorrow at 2:30pm." I squeal and jumo in my seat.

It was about 1am when we got back since we left at 9pm and the movie ended at 11:30pm and we went out to eat.
I had feel asleep in the car and instead of waking me up Matthew carried me inside laying me down.
I had woken up after they took me out of the car but pretend to be asleep. "Good night Shawn." I heard Grayson whispers and then i heard a kissing sound making me gasp blowing my cover.
"Kai how long have you been awake?" I pout up at Grayson his arms still around Shawn waist. "Since Matthew picked me up out of the car, How long have you guys been dating?" Grayson winces "about 4 months now." I gasp tears pooling in my eyes.
"HOW COME YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!" I yelled hurt that my brother and best friend hide something like that from me.
Shawn comes and sits beside me trying to hug me but i move out the way. "You knew i like him since 7th grade when you moved and we became friends why are you so upset."
I get up grabbing some pjs and my charger not talking to either anymore. Rushing out of the room and towards my closest locking the door.
I grab my extra blankts and pillows and make a pallet to sleep on. I knew I was being petty but i had a right to be it made me wonder was he only friends with me so he could be with Grayson.
That thought alone had me choking on a sob. I curled up on my pallet after changing still crying.
My phone binged picking it up a another sob lets lose.

It was now 12:30pm and I was ready fixing to leave when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
I quickly grab my wallet and tying my shoes I head for the door. "Kai wait we need to talk." I look at the stairs to see Shawn and Grayson.
Dashing out the door and to the bus that just pulled up,i quickly get on and pay.
My phone starts ringing so I put it on silent as I wait for my stop. Finally the bus stops at my stop so i quickly get off, walking towards the small green house nursery.
Smiling at Miss Kate I grab a basket and go towards the cacti and succulents. I pick a few out then show miss Kate the photo and she gets the other vine plant and two others that I don't know what is.
After paying and grabbing the bags I head out the door quickly ducking when I see Grayson car drive past the nursery and park a little ways down.
I head the other way towards the pet shop. I look at me phone seeing im 5 minutes early but i go in anyways.
Walking up to the check out desk smiling softly and take a deep breath. "I-im here for the job interview." I whispers picking at my cuticles.
The teenage girl smiles and nods, "Follow me you can leave you bags behind the desk" I sit them down and follow her.
"Im Lea, and this is your stop." I nod and knock three times soon the door is pulled open and a older man is standing behind it.
"Ah you must be Kai Woods." I blush and nod he leads me inside and points at a empty seat.

I smile and grab my bags and the baby blue polo and my new name tag.
Heading out the door I head to the Starbucks across the street placing an online order which was ready very quickly.
Sipping my drink i head towards the bus stop. As im sitting there I see Graysons blue ford fusion pull up i tillited my head down and hide behind my bags.
"Kai come on were going home im done with your childish games" I look up at Grayson his face edged with a anger expression.
"No, no go away i maybe being childish but thats my business" I stand up head towards the bus.
"If you get on that bus don't bother talking to me again im tired of taking care of you!" I turn around quickly hurt expression and all.
"No one asked you to care for me you just go and be like everyone else in this life, hates the quiet kid protect the baby, he'll dye alone!"
I turn away getting on the bus paying and sitting down tears pouring down my face.

Once I got home i climbed the stairs up to my room i place my bags down. I gather everything shawn and grayson ever gave me from the teddy bear that grayson got me when i was in an accident to the latest gift which was a new yellow hoodie the one form yesterday. Shawn gave me a beaded friend ship bracelet in the 7th grade to the iphone case he got me, i placed it all in two boxs with are photos and everything.
I grab all the clothes they gave me folding them nice and neat and set them on Graysons bed.
Was I being a baby about all of this yes but what Grayson said hurt mw know he was only doing everything he every down cause it felt oblegted.
I go to the garage looking for a new door knob for my door i found one, i grabe a screw driver and some other tools then head to my room.
After changing the knob and lock on my door i lock it .

My mom calls me down for dinner, I get up heading downstairs i sit in a different spot in between Matthew and Link they look down shocked.
Mom and dad place tge food on the table and we sever areselfs.
Both my parents asked about everyones day most was normal then it got to me. " i got some new plants today." My mom scoffs then takes a sip of her wine. "You need to stop wasting your time on those useless plants."
Dad smiles sadly at me and goes to ask Link about his day but quickly I yell out that i got a job.
Everyon looks at me surprised even Grayson and Shawn. "What kind of job?" I smile softly "i work at the loacl pets store Pets im in the fish and reptail department, i start tomorrow."
"How do you plan on getting there everyday you can't drive?" Mom snickers never being pleased with me i guess.
"Ill take the bus till i finish my online drivers ed and get my licences then with saving my checks ill buy a car."
Dad smiles and nods, "im proud son, and i bet you can sweet talk Grayson to take you instead of the nasty bus."
I shake my head no and drop the conversation quickly finishing my plate and wash it.
After dinner i now was in my room when I hear Link yell and hear Grayson yelling back so moving closer to the door.
"You said what to him!" "I told him if he got on that bus i was done being his support and he got on that bus so now i couldn't give two shits what happens to him!"
Tears pour down my face and i open my door walk over to Grayson and Link. "If you hated me all this time then why act like you love me cause!" I scream at him tears pouring down my face.
"Cause your the baby its was my job when you was a kid i didn't expect to be still taking care of you when your 19years old" i laugh he thinks he was always there but he hadn't been.
"You may think you guys was always there but you wasn't, you wasn't there when your football buddy teamed up on my in the locker room beat me black and blue, you wasn't there when i was took three towns over by your best friend and raped over and over gone for 2 weeks then im brought back you wasn't there!" I say falling to the ground as Link hugged me.
"When Josh did what?" Shawn looks at me "he-he raped you, you let your friends rape your baby brother!" Shawn was now in Grayson face.
I turn into Link, "i-i never knew about this till now" Grayson looked broken he silde down the wall Shawn quickly sat down too.
"This has all gotten out of hand, What you said Grayson at the bus stop and to Link wasn't true no one forced you to take care of him you did that on your own, Kai were sorry we kept it a secret so long we didn't want to hurt you we wanted to make sure we'd last long enough, now till you guys make up im going to head home."
I threw myself at Shawn crying and apologizing to him and Grayson. Grayson picks me up holding me close apologizing.

I passed out in Grayson arms so he and laid me down on his bed and covered me up Shawn climbed behind me and cuddled with me like we alsway do.
It was now 2am i had woke up and noticed Grayson was not in bed. So i slip from his arms and go looking for him. He was in the kitchen down stairs with my dad i quickly went over to Grayson and hugged him.
"Bud are you okay?" I nod " im sorry for always bugging you and not being a easy little brother" he sighs "I never meant what i said i do love you your my baby brother and Josh is dead for ever laying a hand on you." I nod and yawn "im sorry for not telling you he threatened to hurt you" he rubs my back and leads me to my room and lays beside me.
"Im happy for you and Shawn" I fall back to sleep.
