Jeongyeon's POV
(Flashback)
I stood behind a tree in this lonely park. It's already dark.
I exhaled heavily as I tried to fight with the coldness of the air. I checked my wristwatch. It's already ten in the evening and he's not here yet.
Why would I even expect him to come to meet me?
I chuckled in disbelief, and when I was about to leave, I heard footsteps coming near me. I searched for it, and so him walking towards me. He doesn't look bothered. He just looks at me expressionlessly.
"Glad to know that you came" I spoke first with a monotone voice. He chuckled mockingly and looked around the park
"What do you want, Yoo?" He spoke, staring at me with suspicion.
I inhaled deeply and walked few feet closer to him. He watched my every move, being attentive.
He doesn't trust, so do I.
"I'll give you a deal" I spoke with all straightforwardness. I saw him gave a smug look and then chuckled
"What Deal? me avoiding Jieun? or me avoiding Dahyun?" He mockingly said
My jaw clenched. I should have known that he won't easily give in
"Avoiding both of them" I bluntly said. He chuckled again, and then I saw his jaw clenched as he glared at me
"Why would I? Bold of you to assume that I would accept that fucking deal you made with the Kim" He spoke firmly, teeth gritted tightly
"Look. I'm not here as your enemy. This is for all. For the better---" He cut me off as he huffed
"Better for all? Well, fuck all of you. Don't fucking pretend, Yoo. You're not doing this shit for all. It's only for the Kim" I was about to respond but he continued
"I know you work for the Kim. I know you're one of his pets, and no, I won't accept anything that came from the Kims. I won't just let go of anyone. I'm not afraid of anyone" He glared at me.
I sighed heavily, gritting my teeth in annoyance.
"They won't let go of you that easily either. Look, they won't give mercy to those people who try to step on them. You know what I mean, Jeon." I spoke seriously. He scoffed, walking nearer to me, meeting my eyes full of confidence.
"I'm not scared. If they want to kill me? I don't fucking care. I won't let go that easy to Dahyun. Tell Dahyun that we'll see each other in hell" That was his last words before leaving me alone in this dark park
I watched him slowly disappearing from my sight. I shakily exhaled. Trying to calm down
Fuck it. This will make everything worst.
I took my phone and dial the number, it was immediately answered
"Mr. Kim, he...he won't back out. He won't let go anyone" I spoke with nervousness. I felt my hand shook
"I'll handle this" That was his last words. Those last words that I know were dangerous, especially coming out from Mr. Kim
(End of flashback)
And yes, meeting Dahyun when we were a child was no coincidence,
My father worked for Mr.Kim.
It comes from our blood and tradition.
I lived this life to work for the Kims.
Meeting Dahyun was never a coincidence. I was born to protect her.
I am not just her friend. I am her ally. I am one of the mafias.
And that was the reason why Jungkook is eager to take me down, just like how he tried to take down Jackson. He knows everything. He knows that Jackson and I work for Mr. Kim but not Dahyun. She knows nothing, and I'm afraid that the time will come that she will finally know the truth...
I just hope nothing would change. I just hope she won't feel betrayed after knowing the truth.
I sighed in exhaustion.

Sana's POV
I heard my phone rang few times. I immediately searched but can't find it. I hissed in annoyance as I tried to look for it here in the living room
"Where is it? Where are yo---" I was rambling but then stopped when I felt a tap on my head, a hard thing, so I looked up and found Momo wearing a bored face and her hand was holding my phone
I immediately took it. "Oh my god. Thanks, Mo" I gave her a shy smile that made her chuckle
"You left your phone in the kitchen sink. What the fuck?" She said in amusement and shook her head. I pout at her
"Dahyun's calling you," Momo said before entering her room. My eyes widened and my mouth apart as I saw the caller ID.
Oh my god. Momo wasn't lying
I immediately answered it with my shaky hand
'Hello? Sana?" The very familiar deep voice was heard on the other line. I bit my lower lip, suddenly feeling my heart beating so fast. I miss that voice
"H-Hi" I mentally slapped myself. Why did I even stutter? Idiot
"Um...are you" I heard her sigh for a second. "Are you free today? I-I mean, it's Sunday so uh...you know? If you have-- I immediately cut her off
"Yes!" I blurted out. I shut my eyes in annoyance.
You don't need to fucking shout, Sana. Jesus Christ
"I mean, yeah I'm not. not-not. I mean, I'm free" I almost squeaked at my stuttering.
When did you even stutter while talking to someone, you dummy? You've been as smooth as smoothie yet you're here, calling Dahyun, like a fucking whipped cream
I heard her chuckle. Amused at my antics
I hope Momo didn't hear me being like this or she would tease the hell out of me
"That's great...can we uh..meet? That playground you showed me?" There was uncertainty in her voice but I tried to ignore it.
"Sure" That was the only word that came out from my mouth as my mind was now flooded with a lot of thoughts and questions
Why does she wanna meet me?
Why does she sound so nervous and uncertain?
Does she wanna back out from us, being friends?
Or maybe she needs some time---
"I'll see you there. Bye" and that's it. the call ended
I stared at my phone screen, and I regretted it as I saw Dahyun and I's picture in the playground, which made me remember that night of us, being alone together.
I immediately averted my gaze and inhaled deeply.
No, Sana. Stop thinking things and just move now because you need to meet Dahyun right now. Whatever happens, happens. Whether it will cause an ache or cause some erratic heartbeat, just go with it.
