It was my freshman year, I was like anyone else, except I wanted to remain unseen.
I was often told that I was pretty, although I didn't want to be.
I kept a simple look, foundation only, hair straightened, hell, I even wore mostly grays and blues in public.
I never voiced my opinion, I melted into the walls, only when I played basketball, did my true emotions shine through.
I was aggresive, no doubt about it. The ball was mine, and I wasn't going to let anyone get in my way.
At that time, my friends, although there for me, were jealous of my looks, and my basketball skills.
I was quiet, sat in the back of class, not to talk to my friends, but to try and remain unnoticed.
It didn't work though. He still was able to see through my quietness, my blending in, he noticed me.
Looking back on it, I suppose basketball was how he noticed me in the first place, I wish he hadn't.
The worst part of it all is that I suspected it from the beginning, his true intention, and when he finally broke through my wall, was when he let me down most.
Truthfully, he killed me inside, and I have never let in another, and I doubt I ever will. It all happened, I was heartbroken, and I had only just seen my fifteen candles.
