It's been at least an hour and we're still having a snowball fight. Wait, I probably shouldn't classify it as a fight, because it's more of a war.
"Do you surrender?" Dan shouted from across the lawn, we had both created huge walls around us at opposite ends of the lot, and he had just declared "war" against me.
"Never!" I exclaimed, quite confident that I would win if he came at me. I had two huge piles of snowballs on either side of me, and even though I had zero hand-eye coordination, at least one of these balls would have to hit him eventually. Peeking up over the wall of snow I made I scanned the area, but couldn't spot Dan anywhere. Suddenly, snow exploded everywhere as he busted through his fortress of snow and came barreling towards me.
Shaking my head I started throwing snowballs at him, but he seemed to dodge every one. He was becoming dangerously close, and I was starting to worry for my imaginary kingdom. Eventually I did hit him, and I shouted out in victory, jumping up into the air with happiness. Until I realized Dan was still coming at me at top speed. Before I could jump out of the way he slammed into me and my wall of snow.
"Geez Dan, I know you wanted to win, but I didn't expect you to destroy my kingdom!" I laughed, trying to sound angry, but failing.
"Your kingdom?" He questioned, arching an eyebrow.
"Yes, my kingdom, it was called Snowlandia and you ruined it!" I pouted.
"Doesn't sound very original." He replied, his dark hazel eyes staring down into mine. Suddenly I realized how close we were together. He had pinned me to the ground, and was currently lying on top of me with his elbows holding his weight.
His eyes went from my eyes to my lips, the back up again. He leaned in slightly, until a voice interrupted us.
"Eww!" It shouted, and we both look over to see Phil covering his eyes. "My poor innocent eyes!"
"Oh, shut up Phil." Dan replied, rolling his eyes, trying to seem totally unaffected by what just happened, but I could see a hit of red coloring his cheeks. He stuck out a hand for me, and I gladly accepted it, then brushed off the snow on my back.
"So you two know eachother?" I asked curiously.
"Yeah, Phil and I share an apartment actually." Dan answered nervously. I frowned, was that a touchy subject? Where they in a fight or something?
"Me and Dan actually work together as well." Phil chipped in, and Dan elbowed him. Oh, so that's why Dan was being so nervous, he didn't want me to know what his job was. I could respect that, for now at least.
"Oh, cool." I responded.
"Sylvia and I actually met a couple days ago. She thought I was an axe murderer, and then I gave her her lost phone."
Phil laughed.
"Well doesn't that sound familiar. Do you meet all your friends like that Sylvia?" Dan asked, an amused half smile on his face.
"Shut up!" I hit his shoulder with mine playfully.
"Abusive." Dan exclaimed, rubbing his shoulder as if my nudge had actually hurt him.
"Aw poor baby." I mocked.
"Anyways, who wants to go out of lunch? I was going to head out by myself, but I don't trust you two together alone." He suggested.
"Sure! I'm starving!" I exclaimed, ignoring the other part of his jab at me. I walked down the street with a huge smile on my face as Phil and Dan trailed behind me. Maybe this friendship is worth breaking a few of my rules.

"No, no, no, no, no, no." I shook my head. "There is no way that Link would ever win in a sword duel with Kirito!"
"What are you talking about? Link would so own Kirito! I mean, he's got a freaking bow, a sleep song, and a shield." Dan retorted, slamming his hands down on the wooden table.
"Yeah, well Kirito has extreme speed, dual blades, and defeated a freaking skeleton centipede thing!" I shouted back, having a strong urge to fling my french vanilla coffee in his face. Phil, Dan and I were currently at Starbucks, arguing over video game/ anime characters while everyone else stared at us like we were psychotic weirdos. Which we were, but that wasn't the point.
"Guys! Chill out, if you get any louder we'll be thrown out!" Phil intervened. "And I really don't want to be kicked out of my favorite coffee joint!"
"Sorry Phil." We muttered. Phil just sighed and shook his head. This was actually my first time a Starbucks, I usually went to any other place because this particular coffee shop was exceedingly expensive, and I didn't see the point of spending 8.42 pounds on one cup of coffee. We continued enjoying our drinks in peace until a teenager, probably around 15 or 14 came running up to us bursting with excitement.
"Oh my gosh! Are you two Dan and Phi?!" She squealed. Dan immediately leaped out of his chair and hurriedly rushed the girl out of the coffee joint and into the street.
"Sorry Sylvia, that's just one Dan's brothers friends. She adores the both of us so much!" He explained. "Just stay here and we'll handle it." Before I could get a word in edgewise he was walking out after Dan. Puzzled I sipped my coffee and watched them. I really wanted to go meet the girl, but I shouldn't be getting involved in it anyways. Besides Phil said it was no big deal. Still, something about the explanation he gave me irked me.
It's probably nothing.
