I threw on the dress that Latrelle bought me and admired myself in the mirror.
I haven't been on a actual proper date before so I was nervous.
Really nervous.
The last time I had a boyfriend was when I was like 13. His name was Danny. He dumped me because I asked him if he wanted to hang out at Cesar's. His mom called my dad later on telling him that Danny pissed his pants and it was all my fault.
I got grounded for 2 weeks.
Yes 2 weeks just cause Danny was scared of the Santos.
The door bell rings causing me to smudge my lip gloss.
"Who is it?" I smile opening the door.
"Alma?" Sad eyes questions.
"Sad eyes?" I question as we both stand at the door.
I begin panicking knowing that Latrelle was gonna be here soon.
"Sad eyes what you doing here?" I ask looking around outside.
"You expecting someone" he asks handing me my cardigan and I shake my head.
"Pshhh noo" I awkwardly laugh.
"You left it in my car" He smiles as he begins to leave.
"Thank you" I smile as I watch him walk away.
I couldn't make things seem suspicious so I stopped him
"Eh Sad eyes you wanna come in." I ask politely instantly regretting it.
He turns back around to face me before agreeing.
"So what you doing dressed up all cute" Sad eyes laughs taking a seat on the sofa.
"Erm I'm planning my outfit for tomorrow" I awkwardly laugh.
My lies were shit.
I offer him a drink but he denies so we sat there awkwardly.
Me and sad eyes didn't have much in common we knew eachother through Oscar and Cesar.
We were always over at their place.
I was trying to look out the window to see if latrelle was out there or not.
He wasn't answering any of my texts.
Minutes later Sad eyes gets a call. It seemed serious.
"Alright I'm off." Sad eyes smiles quickly heading out the door.
"Is something wrong?" I ask worried.
"No its nothing. Night Alma" He smiles before rushing to his car.
"Night" I smile as I check my phone.
A text from latrelle.
' You're welcome babe'
I laugh as I look up to see Latrelle waking up to my door.
He wore a black button down shirt with jeans.
"Latrelle" I smile pulling him into a hug.
"You ready?" He whispers and I nod.
I quickly put on my cardigan and lock the door.
"So where we going?" I squeal as we get into his car.
"You'll see" he smiles.
Minutes later we arrive at this park with a little picnic
"I'm tryna be cute and all so I decided to organize this" he stutters pouting to the picnic.
"I I love it. " I squeal jumping out the car.
"Really" he questions.
"Yes I didn't know you were this adorable" I squeal pushing him out the way.
I didn't know him at all.
After dinner we decided to star gaze.
Me and Latrelle layed across the blanket and looked up to the hundreds of beautiful stars in the night.
"That was beautiful Latrelle thank you" I smile.
"No thank you. Never in my life would I have thought I'd go on a date with a girl as beautiful as you" Latrelle smiles.
That was kinda cringey but I'll let it slide.
"Oh stopp Latrelle" I blush as I playfully punch him.
The date had ended shortly after and Latrelle dropped to me off home.
"Bye Alma" he smiles.
I smile back and wave as his car drives away.
I turn to see the kitchen lights on at home. Dad was home. I begin calling Monse but she didn't seem to answer.
"fuck" I whisper running behind a bush.
I did not think this out.
Dad thinks I'm sleeping over at Monse's.
"Cesar" I whisper to myself and begun making my way to his.
I stood in front of his house deciding whether to ring the doorbell or not so I decided to climb through Cesars window instead.
Only me would sneak in like a robber into a santos home.
"Owwie" I cry as my face hit the floor in his room.
The lights quickly turn on and I look up to see Cesar defending himself with a pencil.
A sharp pencil.
"What the... Alma you okay?" Cesar whispers dropping the pencil to the ground.
"Are you okay?" I laugh as I watch Cesar take in deep breaths.
"Hey you think I can sleepover?" I ask hoping he'd say yes.
He nods and jumps up in excitement.
"What were you doing out so late" Cesars asks as he grabs an extra blanket.
"Erm I eh had this date but I erm got stood up" I lie sitting on the bed.
Lies the date was amazing. I could not stop thinking about Latrelle.
"Oh Alma" He whispers giving me a hug.
"I also lied to my dad telling him I was staying over at Monse's" I whisper.
"Well you're welcome here any time" he laughs as he tosses me the blanket.
"Thank you" I smile.
"So who was this date?" He asks as we lay in bed.
"Erm someone from somewhere" I stutter not knowing what to say.
"From school?" He questions turning to face me.
"No he's not from Freeridge. You won't know him" I reply.
We both say our good nights and slowly drift off to sleep.
